Hyderabad : BJP State President N Ramchander Rao today emphasized that a party office is not merely a building, it is like a temple which has a special place in the hearts of our karyakartas. He was addressing a gathering after inauguration of Medchal-Malkajgiri new BJP Office. He said the party office, just as a temple sacred to devotees, it has a special place in the hearts of our karyakartas where we plan our porogramme, organise activities and work for strengthening the party for the service of the people.
“Our activities must expand, our organisation must grow stronger and we must reach every section of society as the people, fed up with anti-people policies of the state Congress government, are increasingly looking towards the Bharatiya Janata Party with hopes”, Rao said. Launching a scathing attack on Revnanth Reddy-led Congress government, BJP state chief said all sections of people including farmers, students, government employees, retired employees were not happy with the functioning of this government and we must prepared every party karyakarta to take the BJP’s message to every house hold exposing misdeeds of Congress government.
Taking a dig on BRS and Congress, Rao said earlier under the BRS government, KCR and his family were happy while the people suffered and today under the Congress government, Revanth Reddy and his brothers may be happy, but the people of Telangana are not happy. The government has now changed the GHMC Act and brought in the CURE Act, bringing Hyderabad, Secunderabad and Malkajgiri under its ambit. But the new act CURE will ultimately become a “CURSE” for the people of Hyderabad as it is planning to put additional burden on common man by imposing different taxes like separate sewage tax and increase of water charges. Under the new act even elected corporators will be rendered powerless. The Mayor too will have little authority because a higher Apex Council will exercise control. Ultimately, all powers will be concentrated in the hands of the Chief Minister, Rao accused.

Criticising anti-people policies of Congress government, Rao alleged that ever since Congress party came to power Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has brought policies that have created fear and hardship among the people. First came HYDRAA, under which the homes of ordinary citizens were demolished. Then came the HILT policy. The government says industries will be shifted away from the city. While there may be arguments in favour of relocating industries, what about the thousands of workers who depend on them for their livelihoods, he said adding that their workplaces would move farther away, making their daily lives more difficult and at the same time, the government wants to use these lands for real estate.
BJP chief demanded a while paper on the entire controversial 22-A issue and order a judicial inquiry so that the truth comes before the people who suffered severely with this act. He said the government has effectively acknowledged that mistakes have been committed following complaints from affected people. On one hand, they demolish properties. On the other hand, they make money by selling government lands. And after doing all this, they bring new laws that further burden poor and middle-class families, he accused and further alleged that this government seems interested only in commissions from builders and real estate, rather than the welfare of ordinary people.

Recalling his two days hunger strike recently, Rao said thousands of young people and students came to the BJP State Office to express their support and that itself demonstrates the anger and frustration among Telangana’s youth who are increasingly standing with the BJP. Students from different sections across Telangana are agitating for their rights and their future. The menace of drugs is increasing. When Revanth Reddy became Chief Minister, he promised that his government would wage a strong fight against drugs. But instead of coming down, the problem has only grown.
Staging that the BJP would continue to stand with the people of Telangana on every issue, Rao said the party would organise a Maha Dharna at Indira Park to raise the voice of Telangana’s youth and fight for their rights on September 5. Rao expressed confidence that the people of Telangana are ready for a change and the BJP must be ready to lead that change.
