Hyderabad : Telangana State BJP unit today paid floral tribute to Jan Sangh founder Dr Syama Prasad Mukherjee on the occasion of his 125th birth anniversary celebrations. BJP state president N Ramchander Rao garlanded portrait of Dr Shama Prasad Mukherjee at a grand function organized at state party headquarters here which was attended by senior party leaders and workers.
Speaking on the occasion he said Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee, the founder of Bharatiya Jana Sangh, stood firm during the partition to ensure that West Bengal remained an integral part of India who dedicated his entire life toward ideals of nationalism and selfless service. Rao vehemently lashed out at the political drama being played by both the Congress government and the BRS party over the corruption in the construction of the Kaleshwaram project. He slammed the state government delaying taking up repair works despite National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA) reports which has clarified through geotechnical and other technical tests that there was no dam safety measures in place regarding the Kaleshwaram project. The government’s failure to start repair works till now is a testament to its gross negligence, he accused.

BJP state chief criticized the previous BRS government for turning the Kaleshwaram project into an ‘ATM’ and thinking they could do politics for generations based purely on money and arrogance. He further lashed out saying that the current CM Revanth Reddy has completely forgotten about the massive corruption that took place in the Kaleshwaram project. Instead of taking strict action against the corruption, he washed his hands of the matter by taking merely nominal action against a few officials. He demanded that Revanth Reddy answer to the public about the secret behind this sudden ‘affection’ toward Kaleshwaram corruption, alleging that both parties are playing dramas together and gambling with the lives of the people.

The previous BRS government constructed Kaleshwaram with a coast of Rs 1.30 lakh crore making it an “ ATM” while present Congress government led by Revanth Reddy is trying making another ATM in the name of Pranahita-Yellampally- Chevella project, Rao alleged and warned both parties not to play with the lives of people of Telangana particularly farmers.
On the other hand, he expressed severe anger over the manner in which ‘HYDRAA’ is functioning in Hyderabad city. He questioned why the government, which is ruthlessly demolishing the houses of the poor in the city in the name of HYDRAA, is not touching the illegal structures belonging to the MIM party.
He recalled that rules were clearly violated in the case of MIM-linked ‘Fatima Educational Institutions,’ and that the Education Department itself had informed the court that it lacked permissions and even the High Court had found fault with it. Nevertheless, the government has not taken any action due to its friendship with MIM, he alleged. He clarified that HYDRAA must function impartially and there cannot be one justice for the poor and another for MIM. He demanded immediate action against the illegal institutions belonging to MIM in accordance with the High Court orders, otherwise BJP would launch a massive public struggle against the biased attitude of Congress, MIM, and HYDRAA.
