Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud took part in the reopening ceremony of the CPI Makdoom office. Speaking on the occasion, he paid rich tributes to the legacy of poet-revolutionary Makhdoom Mohiuddin and used the platform to deliver a scathing critique of the current political scenario in the country.
Mahesh Kumar Goud described Makhdoom as a symbol of literary brilliance and revolutionary politics. “His bond with the Singareni coal mine workers was legendary. Alongside comrades like Baddam Ella Reddy and Venkat Reddy, Makhdoom called for armed struggle against oppression,” Goud recalled. He also highlighted Makhdoom’s multifaceted talents, noting that he was not only a poet but also a skilled stage actor who translated George Bernard Shaw’s plays into Urdu.
He pointed out the historical significance of the office, stating that it was originally inaugurated on February 17, 1974, in the presence of Congress ministers of that time. “The relationship between the Congress and the Communists is deep-rooted and inseparable,” Goud asserted. “We are not separate when it comes to fighting for public welfare.”
He emphasized that communist ideology continues to remain relevant, stating, “There is no death to communist thought, and the ideology remains intact. We fought the Assembly elections in alliance with the Left parties and succeeded. Only strong secular forces can protect the future of this country.”
Strong Criticism of Rising Authoritarianism
Goud strongly criticized what he described as a growing fascist trend in India. “To protect their positions, these authoritarian forces are willing to go to any lengths. It is unfortunate that even educated individuals are now using Hindutva as a political card,” he lamented. “When we speak of secularism, we are labeled as urban Naxals. When we speak of democratic values, we are branded as traitors. This is the mindset we are dealing with today.”
Outrage Over ‘Operation Kagaar’
Goud expressed deep concern over ‘Operation Kagaar’, alleging that it was being used as a cover by the central government to hand over forest and mineral wealth to corporate entities. “Even when Maoists expressed willingness to hold talks, the Centre launched brutal operations, disregarding humanity and resulting in the deaths of women and children,” he said. He added that following his participation in a round-table conference criticizing Operation Kagaar, he was unjustly branded an ‘urban Naxal’ and ‘anti-national’.
The TPCC chief voiced serious concern over the functioning of the Election Commission. “It is unfortunate that the Commission has become a tool to benefit certain individuals. In Bihar, the elimination of votes under the guise of surname discrepancies clearly benefited one particular party. This is now a matter before the Supreme Court,” he said. Goud welcomed the INDIA bloc’s united protest against this ‘undemocratic’ elimination process and stressed the need for all democratic forces to come together.
He also criticized the BJP-led Centre for weakening constitutional bodies. “Since coming to power, the BJP has systematically undermined institutions. The Election Commission is one such casualty. Even honest officials within the institution are now being forced to bend under political pressure,” he remarked.
Citing the BJP’s failed employment promises, Goud said, “The Prime Minister had promised two crore jobs. Instead, existing jobs are being eliminated and public sector units are being shut down to be handed over to private individuals.”
Protect Democracy
Mahesh Kumar Goud concluded by calling for unity among secular and democratic forces. “This is the time to come together. To protect the future of this nation, secular forces must strengthen. We must rise above party lines and ideological divides to defend the rights of the people and the democratic fabric of this country,” he urged.

హైదరాబాద్ : సీపీఐ మఖ్దూమ్ కార్యాలయ పునః ప్రారంభ కార్యక్రమంలో టీపీసీసీ అధ్యక్షుడు, ఎమ్మెల్సీ మహేష్ కుమార్ గౌడ్ పాల్గొన్నారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా ఆయన మాట్లాడుతూ… మఖ్దూమ్ జీవితం, భావజాలం, ప్రస్తుత రాజకీయ పరిస్థితులపై తీవ్రంగా స్పందించారు. మఖ్దూమ్ జీవితం తెలుగు నేలకే కాదు, దేశ ప్రజలకు గొప్ప సందేశమని ఆయన అన్నారు.
మఖ్దూమ్—సాహితీ, రాజకీయ వైభవానికి ప్రతీకగా నిలిచారని మహేష్ గారు గుర్తుచేశారు. “సింగరేణి కార్మికులతో ఆయనకు ఉన్న అనుబంధం ఎనలేనిది. బద్దం ఎల్లారెడ్డి, వెంకట్ రెడ్డి లాంటి యోధులతో కలిసి సాయుధ పోరాటానికి పిలుపునిచ్చిన ఘనత మఖ్దూమ్ది” అని ఆయన చెప్పారు. కేవలం కవి మాత్రమే కాక, మంచి నటుడిగా కూడా మఖ్దూమ్ పేరు తెచ్చుకున్నారన్న విషయాన్ని మహేష్ కుమార్ గౌడ్ ప్రత్యేకంగా ప్రస్తావించారు. ప్రముఖ విదేశీ రచయిత జార్జ్ బెర్నార్డ్ షా నాటకాలను ఉర్దూలోకి అనువదించిన వారిలో మఖ్దూమ్ ముఖ్యులని చెప్పారు.
1974 ఫిబ్రవరి 17న ప్రారంభమైన ఈ కార్యాలయానికి అప్పటి కాంగ్రెస్ మంత్రులే పునాది వేయడం మరో ప్రత్యేకతగా గౌడ్ గుర్తు చేశారు. “కాంగ్రెస్-కమ్యూనిస్టుల అనుబంధం విడదీయ రానిదని అన్నారు. ప్రజా ప్రయోజనాల కోసం ఇద్దరు వేరు కాదని” ఆయన స్పష్టం చేశారు.
కమ్యూనిస్టు భావజాలానికి మరణం లేదని, కమ్యూనిస్టు సిద్ధాంతాలకు కొదవ లేదని వ్యాఖ్యానించిన మహేష్ కుమార్ గౌడ్, “అసెంబ్లీ ఎన్నికల్లో కమ్యూనిస్టులతో కలిసి పోటీ చేసి విజయాన్ని అందుకున్నాం. బలమైన లౌకిక శక్తులే దేశ భవిష్యత్కు భద్రత” అని గుర్తు చేశారు.
ప్రస్తుతం దేశంలో కొనసాగుతున్న ఫాసిస్టు పాలనపై తీవ్ర విమర్శలు చేశారు. “తమ పదవులను కాపాడుకునేందుకు ఫాసిస్టు శక్తులు ఎంత దూరమైనా వెళ్తున్నాయి. విద్యావంతులు సైతం హిందూత్వ కార్డును ఉపయోగించడం శోచనీయం. లౌకికత గురించి మాట్లాడితే అర్బన్ నక్సల్స్ అంటారు. ప్రజాస్వామ్య విలువల గురించి మాట్లాడితే దేశద్రోహులమంటారు. ఇదే వారి తత్వం” అని ఉద్ఘాటించారు.
ఆపరేషన్ కగార్ పై ఆగ్రహం
ఆపరేషన్ కగార్ పేరుతో కేంద్రం అడవుల్లోని ఖనిజ సంపదను కార్పొరేట్ శక్తులకు దోచిపెట్టే ప్రయత్నం చేస్తోందని తీవ్రంగా మండిపడ్డారు. “మావోయిస్టులు చర్చలకు సిద్ధమని ప్రకటించినా కేంద్రానికి మానవత్వం లేకుండా సీజ్ ఫైర్ దాడులకు పాల్పడటం దారుణం. ఇందులో మహిళలు, పిల్లలు ప్రాణాలు కోల్పోయారు” అన్నారు. ఆపరేషన్ కగార్ పై రౌండ్ టేబుల్ సమావేశంలో మాట్లాడిన మరుసటి రోజే తనపై అర్బన్ నక్సలైట్, దేశద్రోహి ముద్ర వేయడం వెనుక కుట్రలు ఉన్నాయని వ్యాఖ్యానించారు.
రాజకీయ స్వార్థాలకు ఎలక్షన్ కమిషన్ బలి
దేశంలో ఎన్నికల సంఘం తీరుపై కూడా మహేష్ కుమార్ గౌడ్ ఆందోళన వ్యక్తం చేశారు. “ఎలక్షన్ కమిషన్ కొందరి ప్రయోజనాలకు దాసోహంగా మారడం దురదృష్టకరం. బీహార్లో ఓట్ల ఎలిమినేషన్ ప్రక్రియ ఒకే పార్టీకి మేలు చేసేలా సాగింది. సుప్రీంకోర్టు దృష్టిలో ఉన్న ఈ అంశంపై INDIA కూటమి పెద్ద ఎత్తున నిరసనలు చేపట్టింది. ప్రజాస్వామ్య పరిరక్షణకు అన్ని పార్టీలు ఏకతాటిపైకి రావాల్సిన అవసరం ఉంది” అన్నారు. ప్రధాని మోదీ ఎన్నికలకు ముందు వాగ్దానం చేసిన రెండు కోట్ల ఉద్యోగాల ప్రస్తావన చేస్తూ, “ఉన్న ఉద్యోగాలు తీసేసి, పబ్లిక్ సెక్టార్ యూనిట్లను ప్రైవేట్ వ్యక్తుల చేతుల్లో పెట్టే దిశగా కేంద్రం వెళ్తోంది” అని విమర్శించారు.
సంఘటితంగా పోరాడాల్సిన సమయం
ఈ సందర్భంగా టీపీసీసీ అధ్యక్షుడు ప్రజాస్వామ్యాన్ని కాపాడుకోవాల్సిన అవసరాన్ని మళ్ళీ మిత్రపక్షాలకు గుర్తు చేశారు. “దేశ భవిష్యత్ను రక్షించాలంటే లౌకిక వాద శక్తులు బలపడాలి. ప్రజల హక్కులను కాపాడేందుకు పార్టీ, భావజాల భేదాలు మరిచి ముందుకు రావాలి” అని టిపిసిసి చీఫ్ పిలుపునిచ్చారు.
