హైదరాబాద్ : ప్రపంచ శక్తిగా భారతదేశ ఎదుగుదలకు విద్య, మహిళా సాధికారతే కీలకమని తెలంగాణ గవర్నర్ శివ్ ప్రతాప్ శుక్లా పేర్కొన్నారు. సామాజిక సాధికార వారోత్సవాల్లో భాగంగా నిర్వహించిన కార్యక్రమంలో ఆయన ముఖ్య అతిథిగా పాల్గొన్నారు. సమతా స్కీం కింద ఉచిత విద్యకు ఎంపికైన 375 ఆదివాసీ, ఇద్దరు ట్రాన్స్జెండర్ విద్యార్ధులకు జ్యోతి రెడ్డి ఫౌండేషన్ ఫెలోషిప్ (JRFF) ప్రదానోత్సవం కార్యక్రమం మంగళవారం డాక్టర్ బి. ఆర్. అంబేద్కర్ సార్వత్రిక విశ్వవిద్యాలయం క్యాంపస్లో జరిగింది.
ముఖ్య అతిథిగా పాల్గొన్న తెలంగాణ గవర్నర్, యూనివర్సిటీ ఛాన్సలర్ శివ్ ప్రతాప్ శుక్లా మాట్లాడుతూ, భారతదేశంలో విద్య, సామాజిక సంస్కరణలకు మార్గదర్శకులైన దార్శనిక నాయకులు బాబు జగ్జీవన్ రామ్, జ్యోతిబా ఫూలే, సావిత్రిబాయి ఫూలే, బి.ఆర్. అంబేద్కర్ అని పేర్కొన్నారు. ఈ సంస్కర్తల నుండి విద్యార్థులు పాఠాలు నేర్చుకుని, వారి ఆదర్శాలను అనుసరించాలని కోరారు. అంబేద్కర్ కేవలం సంస్కర్త మాత్రమే కాదని, అందరి నాయకుడని చెప్పారు. ఉన్నత శిఖరాలను చేరుకోవడానికి కృషి, పట్టుదల, విద్యే కీలకమని పేర్కొన్నారు. ఉపాధ్యాయులు సమాజంలో మార్గదర్శకులుగా, దేశ నిర్మాతలుగా అత్యున్నత స్థానాన్ని కలిగి ఉంటారని వ్యాఖ్యానించారు. తమ లక్ష్యాలను సాధించే వరకు విశ్రమించవద్దని విద్యార్ధులకు సూచించారు. అంబేద్కర్ తీవ్రమైన వివక్షను అధిగమించిన ఒక ప్రతిభావంతుడైన విద్యార్థి అని గుర్తు చేశారు.
భారత రాజకీయాలు, సామాజిక మార్పులో అంబేద్కర్ ఒక మహోన్నత వ్యక్తి అని అభివర్ణించారు. అంబేద్కర్ వారసత్వాన్ని గౌరవించటానికి భారత ప్రభుత్వం పంచ తీర్థాన్ని అభివృద్ధి చేసిందన్నారు. అట్టడుగు వర్గాలకు అభ్యున్నతి కోసం పూర్వ విద్యార్ధి జ్యోతి రెడ్డి ఫౌండేషన్ చేస్తున్న కృషిని గవర్నర్ అభినందించారు. మహిళలు అన్ని రంగాలలోనూ గొప్ప శిఖరాలను చేరుకుంటున్నారని, ఇది పెరుగుతున్న సాధికారతకు నిదర్శనమని పేర్కొన్నారు. నారీ శక్తి వందన్ చట్టాన్ని ప్రస్తావిస్తూ, సమీప భవిష్యత్తులో పార్లమెంటులో మహిళలకు 33 శాతం ప్రాతినిధ్యం లభిస్తుందనే ఆశాభావం వ్యక్తం చేశారు. భారతదేశం ఒక అగ్రశక్తిగా ఎదుగుతోందని, కోవిడ్-19 మహమ్మారి సమయంలో కూడా ఆర్థికంగా స్థిరంగా ఉందని పేర్కొన్నారు. 2047 నాటికి ‘వికసిత భారత్’గా, ప్రపంచంలోనే అగ్రగామి ఆర్థిక వ్యవస్థగా భ్రాతదేశం అభివృద్ధి చెందుతుందని పేర్కొన్నారు.
ఈ కార్యక్రమానికి గౌరవ వైస్ ఛాన్సలర్ ప్రొ. ఘంటా చక్రపాణి అధ్యక్షత వహించారు. అధ్యక్షోపన్యాసంలో వైస్ ఛాన్సలర్ మాట్లాడుతూ డా. బి. ఆర్. అంబేద్కర్ ఆదర్శాల స్ఫూర్తితో విశ్వవిద్యాలయం సమాజంలోని అన్ని వర్గాలకు సమాన అవకాశాలను కల్పిస్తోందని పేర్కొన్నారు. గ్రామీణ విద్యార్ధులకు మరిన్ని అవకాశాలు కల్పించాలనే లక్ష్జ్యంతో అంబేద్కర్ ఓపెన్ యూనివర్సిటీ లో అనేక నూతన డిజిటల్ కార్యక్రమాలను ప్రవేశపెట్టామని పేర్కొన్నారు. దేశంలో ఏ యూనివర్సిటీ లో లేని విధంగా అందరికీ సమాన అవకాశాలు కల్పించాలనే లక్ష్యంతో సమతా స్కీం ను ప్రవేశపెట్టమని ప్రొ. చక్రపాణి వెల్లడించారు. విద్యార్థులకు విభిన్న వృత్తి నైపుణ్య కోర్సుల్లో శిక్షణను ఇస్తున్నట్లు వీసీ పేర్కొన్నారు.
విశిష్ట అతిథి పాల్గొన్న తెలంగాణ శాసన మండలి గౌరవ డిప్యూటీ ఛైర్మన్ డా. బండా ప్రకాష్ మాట్లాడుతూ, జ్యోతి రెడ్డి ఫౌండేషన్ ద్వారా అణగారిన వర్గాలకు విలువైన మద్దతును జ్యోతి రెడ్డి అందిస్తున్నారని పేర్కొన్నారు. సాధికారతకు ఒక సాధనంగా ప్రభుత్వం విద్యకు అధిక ప్రాధాన్యతను ఇస్తోందని వెల్లడించారు. ఉన్నత విద్యలో వినూత్న కార్యక్రమాలను ప్రవేశపెట్టడంలో డా. బి. ఆర్. అంబేద్కర్ సార్వత్రిక విశ్వవిద్యాలయం ముందంజలో ఉందని పేర్కొన్నారు. సమాజంలోని నిరుపేద వర్గాలకు నాణ్యమైన విద్య, నైపుణ్యాభివృద్ధి, ఉద్యోగ అవకాశాలను అందించడం ప్రశంసనీయమన్నారు. గ్రామీణ విద్యార్ధులను, పేదలను ఉన్నత విద్య అభ్యసించేలా ప్రోత్సాహం ఇవ్వాలని డా. బండ ప్రకాష్ పిలుపునిచ్చారు.
కార్యక్రమంలో గౌరవ అతిథిగా పాల్గొన్న జ్యోతి రెడ్డి ఫౌండేషన్ వ్యవస్థాపక అధ్యక్షురాలు దుద్దిపాల జ్యోతి రెడ్డి మాట్లాడుతూ బి. ఆర్. అంబేద్కర్ సార్వత్రిక విశ్వవిద్యాలయం లో తన విద్య తన విజయానికి బలమైన పునాది వేసిందని అన్నారు. విద్యార్థిగా ఉన్నప్పుడు సరైన ఆహారం, సంరక్షణ లేదని పేర్కొన్నారు. ఓ సామాన్య కూలీ నుంచి ప్రారంభమైన తన జీవితం ఈ రోజు ఈ స్థాయికి చేరడానికి అంబేద్కర్ ఓపెన్ యూనివర్సిటీ నే కారణమని వెల్లడించారు. అలాంటి యూనివర్సిటీ లో చదివే పేద విద్యార్ధులకు, అందులోనూ ఆదివాసీ, ట్రాన్స్ జెండర్ లకు ఆర్ధికంగా అండగా నిలవడం ఆనందంగా ఉందని, తన జీవితమంతా ఈ విశ్వవిద్యాలయానికి మద్దతుగా నిలుస్తానని పునరుద్ఘాటించారు.
కార్యక్రమంలో ప్రొఫెసర్ పుష్పా చక్రపాణి, డైరెక్టర్ (అకాడమిక్), రిజిస్ట్రార్ డా. ఎల్. విజయ కృష్ణ రెడ్డి, లెర్నర్ సపోర్ట్ సర్వీసెస్ డైరెక్టర్ డా. వై. వెంకటేశ్వర్లు, ఓఎస్డి ప్రొఫెసర్ రవీంద్రనాథ్ సోలమన్, డీన్లు, బోధన, బోధనేతర సిబ్బందితో పాటు విద్యార్థులు పాల్గొన్నారు.

Hyderabad : As part of the “Social Empowerment Week” Samatha Freeships Award ceremony was organized at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University, under the Jyothi Reddy Foundation Fellowship (JRFF) at its Campus. Shiv Pratap Shukla, Governor of Telangana and Chancellor of BRAOU attended as chief guest for the Jyothi Reddy Foundation Fellowship (JRFF) distribution Ceremony.
The Chancellor stated that Babu Jagjivan Ram, Jyotiba Phule, Savitribai Phule and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar were visionary leaders who pioneered education and social reforms in India. He urged students to learn from these reformers and follow their ideals. Shri Shukla emphasized that hard work and education are the keys to reaching great heights. He remarked that teachers hold the highest place in society as guides and nation-builders. He advised learners not to rest until they achieve their goals.
Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla highlighted that Ambedkar was a brilliant student who overcome severe discrimination in his life time. He described Ambedkar as a towering figure in Indian politics and social transformation. He noted that the Government of India has developed the Panch Teerth to honour his legacy. Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla appreciated the efforts of the Jyoti Foundation in supporting marginalized communities to uplift their economic status and encourage their further studies.
He stressed the need to uplift deprived sections of society through sustained efforts. Honorable governor observed that women are reaching great heights in all fields, reflecting growing women empowerment. He referred to the Nari Shakti Vandan Act and expressed hope for 33 percent representation of women in Parliament in the near future. He stated that India is emerging as a leading global power and remained economically stable even during the COVID-19 pandemic. He concluded by affirming that Ambedkar was not just a reformer but a leader for all, and he emphasized the vision of a developed India by 2047 as a ‘Viksit Bharat’ and a leading global economy.
Distinguished Guest Dr. Banda Prakash, Hon’ble Deputy Chairman, Telangana Legislative Council, stated that Jyothi Reddy is extending valuable support to marginalized sections through the Jyothi Reddy Foundation. He noted that the government is giving high priority to education as a means of empowerment. Dr. Prakash highlighted that B R Ambedkar Open University is a pioneer in introducing innovative initiatives in higher education. He added that the university is providing quality education, skill development, and career opportunities to underprivileged sections of society.
Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. B. RAmbedkar Open University presided over the ceremony. Prof. Chakrapani stated that the university is providing numerous opportunities to all sections of society, inspired by the ideas of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. He highlighted the introduction of digital initiatives to enhance access to education and learning. He noted that the institution is creating diverse career opportunities for students. Prof. Chakrapani added that the university is also focusing on skill development to empower learners for the future.
Smt. Dudipala Jyothi Reddy, USA Founder President, Jyothi Reddy Foundation, and Alumni of the University was the Guest of Honor for the program. She shared that her education experience at Dr. B.R Ambedkar Open University became a strong foundation for her success. She fondly recalled the support from the BRAOU teachers when she was a student. Expressing gratitude, she affirmed her commitment to supporting the university throughout her professional journey.
She also encouraged learners to explore business opportunities in America while contributing to the growth of the nation. She revealed that the Ambedkar Open University is the sole reason her life—which began as that of a humble laborer—has reached its current stature today. She expressed her joy in providing financial support to underprivileged students studying at such an institution—particularly those from Adivasi and transgender communities—and reiterated that she would stand in support of this university throughout her entire life. She called upon students to contribute to the nation’s development while simultaneously seizing promising opportunities wherever they may arise across the globe.
Prof. Pushpa Chaktrapani, Director (Academic), Dr L Vijaya Krishna Reddy, the Registrar, Dr. Y. Venkateswarlu, Director, Learner Support Services, VC, OSD Prof. Rabindranath Solomon, Deans, Directors, teaching and non-teaching staff, along with students, were presented.
