Hyderabad : Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University today hoisted the tri-colour National Flag on the occasion of 80th Independence Day at the campus. He remembered the sacrifices of Indian freedom fighters and National leaders. He also called upon the staff to serve its Students with greater dedication and discipline. He extended independence day greetings to the Staff.
Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani proudly stated that Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University is no longer confined to being a State University, but is steadily emerging as a global university serving learners across the world. He highlighted that the University Grants Commission (UGC) has approved several online programmes of the University, marking a significant milestone in its digital transformation. Established as the country’s first Open and Distance Learning (ODL) university, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University is steadily transforming into a Digital University. Prof. Chakrapani expressed confidence that, in the near future, the University would evolve into a fully digital institution by harnessing advanced technologies to deliver all its academic programmes online.
He acknowledged the support and encouragement extended by the Government of Telangana and the members of the University Governing Council in strengthening the University’s digital transformation and expanding access to quality higher education. He further emphasised that the integration of cutting-edge global expertise, advanced digital technologies, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and international best practices would significantly accelerate BRAOU’s journey towards becoming a globally recognised, AI-enabled Digital University. He said these initiatives would strengthen the University’s world-class digital ecosystem and enable BRAOU to provide high-quality, accessible, affordable, and technology-enabled higher education to learners at scale.
