హైదరాబాద్ : డిజిటల్ మీడియా వినియోగం పెరగడంతో ప్రింట్ మీడియా ప్రస్తుత పరిస్థితుల్లో తీవ్ర సంక్షోభాన్ని ఎదుర్కొంటోందని మన తెలంగాణ సంపాదకులు దేవులపల్లి అమర్ పేర్కొన్నారు. అంబేద్కర్ ఓపెన్ యూనివర్సిటీ మాజీ వీసీ ప్రొ. యస్. బషీరుద్దీన్ 89వ జయంతిని పురస్కరించుకుని అంబేద్కర్ సార్వత్రిక విశ్వవిద్యాలయంలో ఆయన స్మారకోపన్యాసం నిర్వహించారు. ఈ కార్యక్రమానికి ముఖ్య అతిథిగా మన తెలంగాణ సంపాదకులు శ్రీ దేవులపల్లి అమర్ హాజరయ్యారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా బషిరుద్దిన్ చిత్ర పటానికి నివాళి అర్పించి “ప్రింట్ మీడియా – సంక్షోభం, భవిష్యత్” అనే అంశంపై స్మారకోపన్యాసం చేశారు.

దేవులపల్లి అమర్ మాట్లాడుతూ ప్రస్తుత పరిస్థితుల్లో డిజిటల్ మీడియా వినియోగం, ఎలక్ట్రానిక్ మీడియా ఉపయోగం బాగా పెరిగిందని, దీంతో వార్తా పత్రికల సర్క్యులేషన్, ప్రకటనల ఆదాయం తగ్గడంతో పాటు, అనేక ప్రఖ్యాత పత్రికా సంస్థలు నిలదొక్కుకోవడానికి ఇబ్బంది పడుతున్నాయిని ఆందోళన వ్యక్తం చేశారు. డిజిటల్, సోషల్ మీడియా యుగంలో తప్పుడు వార్తల వ్యాప్తి పెరిగిందని దీన్ని అరికట్టాల్సిన అవసరం ఉందని అభిప్రాయపడ్డారు. పత్రికలు పూర్వ వైభవాన్ని సంతరించుకోవాలి అంటే యాజమాన్యాల ధోరణి మారాలని, వ్యాపార దృష్టి తో కాకుండా ప్రజల సమస్యల పరిష్కార కోణంలో పనిచేయాలని సూచించారు.

యాజమాన్య వాటాలో పెట్టుబడి దారులు, వ్యాపారవేత్తలు కాకుండా ప్రజలు, మీడియా పైన అభిమానం ఉన్నవాళ్ళు ఆయా సంస్థలకు స్వచ్చందంగా చందాలు ఇచ్చి లాభాపేక్ష లేని వాటాదారులుగా ఉండాలని, అప్పుడే ప్రింట్ మీడియాను రక్షించుకునే అవకాశం ఉందని వివరించారు. రోజురోజుకూ ఖర్చులు పెరిగి పోతున్నాయని, న్యూస్ ప్రింట్ ధరలు, ఇంక్ ధరలు బాగా పెరిగాయని, దీంతో యాజమాన్యాలు కూడా వ్యాపార ధోరణి ని అవలంభిస్తున్నయన్నారు. ఒక్కో పత్రిక ప్రింట్ కావాడానికి సుమారు ముప్పై రూపాయలు ఖర్చు అయితే దానిని మార్కెట్లో అమ్మేది కేవలం ఐయిదు నుంచి ఏడు రూపాయలు మాత్రమేనని పేర్కొన్నారు. ప్రస్తుత పరిస్థితుల్లో పత్రికలను కాపాడుకోవాల్సిన భాద్యత అందరి పైన ఉందని పిలుపునిచ్చారు.

ఈ కార్యక్రమానికి విశ్వవిద్యాలయ ఉపకులపతి ఆచార్య ఘంటా చక్రపాణి అధ్యక్షత వహించారు. ఆయన మాట్లాడుతూ విశ్వవిద్యాలయ అభివృద్ధికి ప్రొ. బషీరుద్దీన్ చేసిన సేవలు మరువలేనివని, అంబేద్కర్ వర్శీటీకి మౌళిక వసతుల ఏర్పాటులో ఆయన పాత్ర మరవలేనిదని కొనియాడారు. ప్రస్తుత పరిస్థితుల్లో సమాజాన్ని జాగృతం చేయడంలో మీడియా ఆశించిన స్థాయిలో పనిచేయడం లేదని ప్రొఫెసర్ ఘంటా చక్రపాణి ఆందోళన వ్యక్తం చేశారు. పాత్రికేయులు, మీడియా సంస్థలు సామాన్యులకు అండగా నిలవడంలో, ప్రజా సమస్యల పరిష్కారంపై దృష్టి సారించడంలో తమ తమ పాత్రను పోషించాలని సూచించారు.

కార్యక్రమంలో విశ్వవిద్యాలయ అకడమిక్ డైరెక్టర్ ప్రొ. ఘంటా చక్రపాణి, కార్యక్రమ ఆవశ్యకతను వివరించగా, రిజిస్ట్రార్ డా. ఎల్. విజయ కృష్ణారెడ్డి ముఖ్య అతిథిని సభకు పరిచయం చేశారు. కార్యక్రమంలో అన్ని విభాగాల అధిపతులు, డీన్స్, అన్ని ఉద్యోగ సంఘాల నాయకులు పాల్గొన్నారు.

BRAOU organised Prof S Bashiruddin Memorial Lecture

Hyderabad: Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU) organized Prof. S. Bashiruddin Memorial Lecture at its campus as part of 89th Birth anniversary of Prof. S. Bashiruddin, Former Vice-Chancellor on Thursday.

Sri Devulapalli Amar, Editor Mana Telangana delivered a lecture on “Print Media – Crisis, Future”. He said that in the current situation, the use of digital media and electronic media has increased significantly, which has led to a decrease in the circulation and advertising revenue of newspapers, and many famous press organizations are struggling to survive. He suggested that newspapers should regain their former glory, that is, the management should change its attitude and work from the perspective of solving people’s problems, rather than with a business focus.

He explained that instead of investors and businessmen in the ownership stake, people should fund the media as voluntarily contribute to the respective organizations and become non-profit shareholders, only then there is a chance to save the print media. The costs are increasing day by day, the prices of newsprint and ink have increased significantly, and due to this, the management is also adopting a business approach. He said that while it costs about thirty rupees to print each newspaper, it is sold in the market for only five to seven rupees. He called on everyone to take responsibility for saving newspapers in the current situation.

Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani, Vice-Chancellor, BRAOU, Presided over the function. Prof. Chakrapani expressed concern that the media is not working as expected in the current situation in awakening the society. He suggested that journalists and media organizations should play their role in standing by the common man and focusing on solving public problems. He concern that Prof Bashiruddin’s services and development of the university are unforgettable.

Prof. G. Pushpa Chakrapani, Director (Academic) introduced about the program. Dr. L. Vijaya Krishna Reddy, Registrar introduced the chief guest. All Director, Deans, Head of the Branches, Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff Members and Representatives of various Service Associations also participated.
