Hyderabad: Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, South Central Railway undertook detailed inspection of M/s Ultratech Cement Siding at Malkhaid station today. He was accompanied by Ms. K. Padmaja, Principal Chief Operations Manager, SCR; Dr. R. Gopalakrishnan, Divisional Railway Manager, Secunderabad Division and other senior officials throughout the inspection.
Sanjay Kumar Srivastava commenced the track inspection by travelling in a Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) equipped coach from Secunderabad to Tandur. The GPR system evaluates track safety by using electromagnetic pulses to scan the subsurface layers of the track bed on non-destructive methods, enabling assessment of track conditions without the need for line closures or disruption to train operations.
Further, the General Manager carried out a comprehensive inspection of the Cement siding at Malkhaid during which he assessed the infrastructure and reviewed the freight operations. He also discussed on further developmental plans with the officials so as to enhance the operational efficiency. Shri Sanjay Kumar Srivastava inspected the Central Control Room at Ultratech siding and reviewed the train operations and monitoring systems. The General Manager also witnessed the live demonstration of latest equipment at the control room and appreciated the implementation of modern technology for improved operations.
Also Sanjay Kumar Srivastava inspected the production plant at the cement siding and reviewed the loading infrastructure and freight handling facilities. The General Manager held a detailed meeting with the officials of Ultratech during which they gave a brief presentation on the further developmental plans and utilization of various innovative tools for further enhancement in freight operations. During the inspection, the General Manager also received representations from local public and other stakeholders at Malkhaid station regarding improvement of Rail services.
