Telangana to Deepen Partnership with Japan in Skills and Employment: Minister Vivek

Hyderabad: A delegation from Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan, held productive discussions with Labour, Employment and Mines Minister Dr. G. Vivek Venkataswamy on expanding employment and skill development cooperation with Telangana. The Japanese delegation paid a courtesy call on the Minister at his office in the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat on Friday.

The meeting was coordinated by the Telangana Overseas Manpower Company (TOMCOM). During the meeting, the Japanese representatives highlighted various employment opportunities available for Indian youth in different industries and sectors. Detailed discussions were held on mutual cooperation in skill development, international human resource mobility, and strengthening trained manpower between Telangana and Japan.

The delegation noted that the partnership between Hyderabad and Japanese cities is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. G. Vivek Venkataswamy stated that the Telangana government is systematically preparing the state’s youth to compete and secure opportunities in the global job market. He appreciated TOMCOM’s professional efforts in creating quality overseas employment opportunities and enhancing the employability of Telangana youth.

The Minister expressed his admiration for Japan’s advanced technical expertise, precision engineering, and disciplined work culture. Labour, Employment, Training and Factories Secretary Dasari Harichandana made a detailed presentation on Telangana’s development initiatives, skill development programmes, and efforts to improve employability and international placements.

She proposed the formation of a Joint Working Group to take forward cooperation and employment opportunities between Telangana and Hiroshima Prefecture. The Hiroshima delegation included Mr. Funaishi Hiroyoshi, Director, Industrial Human Resources Division; Mr. Koga Yuya, Staff, Industrial Human Resources Development Division; Mr. Harazono Yoshihiro, Supervisor, Local Investment Promotion Division; Ms. Toi Maria, Staff, Local Investment Promotion Division, and other senior officials.
