హైదరాబద్ : సావిత్రీబాయి ఫూలే నిరాడంభర జీవితం భావి తరాలకు స్ఫూర్తిదాయకం అని ప్రభుత్వ సిటీ కళాశాల తెలుగు విభాగ అధిపతి, అధ్యాపకులు డా. కోయి కోటేశ్వరరావు పేర్కొన్నారు. డా. బి. ఆర్. అంబేద్కర్ సార్వత్రిక విశ్వవిద్యాలయ మహిళాభివృద్ధి, విస్తరణ కేంద్రం ఆధ్వర్యంలో సావిత్రీబాయి ఫూలే జయంతిని పురస్కరించుకొని నిర్వహించిన మహిళా ఉపాధ్యాయుల దినోత్సవం కార్యక్రమానికి ముఖ్య వక్తగా హాజరై “సావిత్రి బాయి ఫూలే జీవితం, లక్ష్యం” అనే అంశంపై ఆయన ఉపన్యాసం చేశారు.
డా. కోటేశ్వరరావు మాట్లాడుతూ ఆ కాలంలో మహిళల విద్యపై ఉన్న సామాజిక పరిమితులను పరిగణనలోకి తీసుకుంటే, సావిత్రిబాయి మిషన్ బాలికల విద్యకు మార్గదర్శకంగా నిలిచిందన్నారు. ఆమె 1848లో పూణేలోని భిడే వాడాలో భారతదేశపు మొట్టమొదటి బాలికల పాఠశాలను స్థాపించి, ఆ తర్వాత బాలికలు, అణగారిన వర్గాల కోసం పలు ప్రాంతాలలో 18 పాఠశాలలను స్థాపించారని పేర్కొన్నారు. సావిత్రీబాయి ఫూలే బాల్య వివాహాలు, కుల వివక్ష, అంటరానితనానికి వ్యతిరేకంగా పోరాడారన్నారు. వితంతు పునర్వివాహం, మహిళల హక్కుల కోసం నిలిచారన్నారు. కుల వ్యవస్థకు వ్యతిరేకంగా పోరాడి, సమానత్వాన్ని ప్రోత్సహించిన సత్యశోధక్ సమాజాన్ని పోషించడంలో ఆమె కీలక పాత్ర పోషించారు. ప్లేగు మహమ్మారి విస్తరించిన సమయంలో ఆమె ప్లేగు బాధితులకు సేవ చేస్తూ చివరికి తన ప్రాణాలను త్యాగం చేశారని వివరించారు.
సావిత్రిబాయి ఫూలే వారసత్వం ఆమె ధైర్యానికి, దృఢ సంకల్పానికి నిదర్శనం అన్నారు. ఆమెను “భారతీయ స్త్రీవాదానికి తల్లి”గా భావించి ఆమెను భావితరతరాలకు సంఘ సంస్కర్తలకు, విద్యావేత్తలకు స్ఫూర్తిగా నిలిచారని ఆమె ఆశయ సాధన కోసం అభ్యుదయ వాదులంతా కృషి చేయాలని పిలుపునిచ్చారు.
ఈ కార్యక్రమానికి అధ్యక్షత వహించిన విశ్వవిద్యాలయ అకాడమిక్ డైరెక్టర్ ఆచార్య. జి. పుష్పా చక్రపాణి మాట్లాడుతూ ప్రపంచంలో స్త్రీని మించిన మహా శక్తి ఏదీ లేదని, స్త్రీ లేకపోతే ఈ సృష్టే లేదన్నారు. మహిళల సాధికారత, అభ్యున్నతి, వివక్ష నిర్మూలన పై తమ విశ్వవిద్యాలయం ద్వారా పాఠ్యాంశాలను అందిస్తున్న విషయాన్ని ఆమె గుర్తు చేశారు.
కార్యక్రమంలో గౌరవ అతిధిగా విశ్వవిద్యాలయ రిజిస్ట్రార్ డా. యల్.విజయ కృష్ణ రెడ్డి పాల్గొని ప్రసంగించారు. ఆయన మాట్లాడుతూ సమాజ అభివృద్ధి కోసం పాటు పడిన సావిత్రిబాయి లాంటి వారి ఆశయాలను నేరవేర్చినప్పుడే అలాంటి వారికి మనం నిజమైన నివాళి అర్పించినట్లు అని వెల్లడించారు. విశ్వవిద్యాలయ మహిళా అభివృద్ధి, విస్తరణ కేంద్రం ఇంచార్జ్, ప్రొ.కె. రాణి రజిత మాధురి కార్యక్రమం నిర్వహణ, ఆవశ్యకతను వివరించారు.

WOMEN TEACHERS DAY CELEBRATIONS AT BRAOU
Hyderabad : Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU), Women’s Development & Extension Centre (WDEC) organised Women Teachers Day as a part of Savitribai Phule birth anniversary at its Campus at Jubilee Hills on Friday. Dr. Koyi Koteswara Rao Head, Department of Telugu, Government City College, Hyderabad was the guest speaker for the program and he delivered a lecture on “Savitribai Phule Life and Mission”
He said Savithribai’s considering the societal restrictions on women’s education at that time. Her Mission Pioneer of Girls’ Education, She co – founder of India’s first girls’ school in at Bhide Wada, Pune, and went on to establish 18 schools for girls and marginalized communities. She campaigned against child marriage, caste discrimination, and untouchability, and advocated for widow remarriage and women’s rights.
She played a central role in nurturing the Satyashodhak Samaj, which fought against caste hierarchy and promoted equality. She also served plague victims during the 1897 epidemic, ultimately sacrificing her life. Savithribai Phule’s legacy is a testament to her courage and conviction. She is celebrated as the “Mother of Indian Feminism” and has inspired generations of social reformers and educators.
Prof. G. Pushpa Chakrapani, Director (Academic), BRAOU Preside over the program. Prof. Pushpa Chakrapani said that there is no great power in this world beyond woman and without woman this creation does not exist. She reminded that Ambedkar Open University is providing curriculum on women’s empowerment, advancement and elimination of discrimination.
Dr. L. Vijaya Krishna Reddy, Registrar of the University attended as guest of honour for the program and spoke on the occasion. Prof. K. Rani Rajitha Madhuri, WDEC explain the aims, objectives of the program and proposed vote of thanks. Prof. G. Mary Sunanda; Prof. Chandrakala, Dr. A. Rama Devi and all Directors, Deans, Heads of the Branches, Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff Members, representatives of various service associations were participated.
