Hyderabad : BRS MLC Kavitha Kalvakuntla joined the BRS Party leaders and members to celebrate women’s day at Telangana bhawan During her address, former MP from Nizamabad, K. Kavitha demanded that the Central Government implement the Women’s Reservation Act without linking it to the Census. Despite the Bill being approved in Parliament in 2023, the Central Government is yet to implement it, citing the Census. Daughter of BRS Supremo, K. Kavitha expressed concerns over how this delay is politically affecting women across the country. In states like Maharashtra, Delhi, and Haryana, where elections were recently held, many women failed to secure positions as MLAs because reservations for women are not yet implemented in legislative assemblies. She pointed out that if the Census is conducted quickly, more women could secure legislative seats in upcoming elections in states like Bihar and Tamil Nadu.
To mark International Women’s Day, BRS MLC K. Kavitha participated as the chief guest in a celebration organized by the BRS Party at Telangana Bhavan. Along with BRS Party women leaders and activists, she cut a cake and celebrated the occasion.
During her speech, MLC Kavitha demanded that Congress fulfill every promise made to women during the elections. Specifically, she reminded the Congress to implement their commitment to providing Rs. 2500 per month to every woman. She warned that the BRS Party would continue to pursue the Congress Government until this promise is fulfilled. BRS Leader K Kavitha criticised the state government for not increasing the wages of Anganwadi and ASHA workers.
BRS MLC K. Kavitha reminded the BRS Cadre that under the leadership of Chief Minister KCR, BRS has implemented women-centered governance and initiated several programs for women’s welfare. She slammed the current congress government for rolling back the programs introduced by KCR. In her address, MLC Kavitha also recommended that like the Kerala Government has introduced illustrations of gender equality in school textbooks, she emphasized that such actions should be adopted in Telangana as well.
MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha while speaking on the ocassion of Women’s Day, stressed upon the significant role women play in the development of society. She opined that equal rights, respect, and decision-making power for women worldwide would lead to the empowerment of women.
BRS MLC Kavitha also pointed out that women in India continue to be treated as second-class citizens in many households. While 40% of women in the United States are employed, only 17% of women in India have jobs. MLC Kavitha stated that if 50% of women in India were employed, the country’s GDP could increase by Rs. 5 lakh crore. However, she emphasized the need for better infrastructure and facilities, such as toilets at workplaces, to make it easier for women to join the workforce.
Towards the end of her address, BRS Leader and MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha acknowledged that while women have made strides in fields ranging from underground mines to space exploration, there are still many challenges to overcome. She stressed that these obstacles must be addressed in order for women to continue advancing.

హైదరాబాద్ : జనగణనతో ముడిపెట్టకుండా మహిళా రిజర్వేషన్ చట్టాన్ని అమలు చేయాలని కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వాన్ని బీఆర్ఎస్ ఎమ్మెల్సీ కల్వకుంట్ల కవిత డిమాండ్ చేశారు. 2023లో పార్లమెంటు ఆమోదించినప్పటికీ మహిళా రిజర్వేషన్ చట్టాన్ని జనగణనతో ముడిపెట్టి కేంద్రం ఇప్పటికీ అమలు చేయడం లేదని, దాంతో దేశవ్యాప్తంగా మహిళలు రాజకీయంగా తీవ్రంగా నష్టపోతున్నారని ఆందోళన వ్యక్తం చేశారు. చట్టసభల్లో మహిళలకు రిజర్వేషన్లు అమల్లో లేనందువల్ల ఇటీవల ఎన్నికలు జరిగిన మహారాష్ట్ర, ఢిల్లీ, హర్యాన వంటి రాష్ట్రాల్లో చాలా మంది మహిళలు ఎమ్మెల్యేలుగా కాలేకపోయారని, త్వరగా జనగణన చేస్తే రాబోయే బిహార్, తమిళనాడు వంటి రాష్ట్రాల్లో మరింత మంది మహిళలు ఎమ్మెల్యేలవుతారని అభిప్రాయపడ్డారు.
అంతర్జాతీయ మహిళా దినోత్సవాన్ని పురస్కరించుకొని బీఆర్ఎస్ పార్టీ ఆధ్వర్యంలో తెలంగాణ భవన్ లో జరిగిన వేడుకలకు ఆ పార్టీ ఎమ్మెల్సీ కల్వకుంట్ల కవిత ముఖ్య అతిథిగా హాజరయ్యారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా బీఆర్ఎస్ పార్టీ మహిళా నాయకులు, కార్యకర్తలతో కలిసి కేక్ కట్ చేసి ఉత్సవాలు జరుపుకున్నారు.
ఈ సంవర్భంగా ఎమ్మెల్సీ కవిత మాట్లాడుతూ…. కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీ ఎన్నికల సమయంలో మహిళలకు ఇచ్చిన ప్రతీ హామీని అమలు చేయాలని డిమాండ్ చేశారు. ముఖ్యంగా ప్రతి మహిళకు రూ 2500 ఇస్తామన్న హామీని అమలు చేసే వరకు కాంగ్రెస్ ప్రభుత్వాన్ని వెంటాడుతామని హెచ్చరించారు. మహిళలను కోటీశ్వరులను చేస్తామని ముఖ్యమంత్రి రేవంత్ రెడ్డి ప్రకటనలను స్వాగతిస్తున్నామని, అయితే మహిళలను ఎలా కోటీశ్వరులను చేస్తారో నిర్దిష్టమైన ప్రణాళికను ప్రభుత్వం ప్రజల ముందు పెట్టాలని డిమాండ్ చేశారు. మహిళా సంఘాల ద్వారా అద్దెకు తీసుకుంటున్న బస్సులకు ఆర్టీసీ సకాలంలో కిరాయి చెల్లిస్తుందా లేదా స్పష్టత ఇవ్వాలి, అంగన్ వాడీ, ఆశా వర్కర్లకు రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం జీతాలు పెంచకపోవడం సరికాదని, తక్షణమే వారికి జీతాలను పెంచాలని సూచించారు.
బీఆర్ఎస్ పార్టీ హయాంలో కేసీఆర్ మహిళా కేంద్రీకృత పాలన చేశారని, మహిళల కోసం కేసీఆర్ అనేక పథకాలు, కార్యక్రమాలు చేపట్టారని గుర్తు చేశారు. కేసీఆర్ పెట్టిన పథకాలను తీసేసే కర్కోటక ప్రభుత్వం రాష్ట్రంలో ఉందని ధ్వజమెత్తారు. కేరళ ప్రభుత్వ పాఠ్య పుస్తకాల్లో మహిళా, పురుషల సమానత్వపు బొమ్మలు ప్రచురిస్తున్నారని, అలాంటి చర్యలు తెలంగాణలో కూడా రావాల్సి ఉందని అభిప్రాయపడ్డారు.
కాగా, సమాజం ఎదుగుదలలో మహిళల పాత్ర గణనీయమని ఎమ్మెల్సీ కవిత స్పష్టం చేశారు. ప్రపంచ వ్యాప్తంగా మహిళలకు సమాన హక్కులు, గౌరవం, నిర్ణయాధికారం రావాల్సి ఉందని, అప్పుడే మహిళా సాధికారత సాధ్యమవుతుందని అభిప్రాయపడ్డారు. చిట్యాల ఐలమ్మ, రాణి రుద్రమాదేవి వంటి వీర మహిళలు తెలంగాణ గడ్డపై పుట్టడం మనకు గర్వకారణమని అన్నారు. మహిళలకు కులమతాలు లేవని, మహిళలది ఒకే కులమని, మహిళలు ఐక్యంగా ఉండి హక్కులను సాధించుకోవాలని తెలిపారు.
ఇండ్లల్లో మహిళలు ద్వితియ శ్రేణి పౌరులుగా ఉంటున్నారన్న వాదన వీగిపోవాలని చెప్పారు. అమెరికా 40 శాతం మహిళలు ఉద్యోగాలు చేస్తుంటే భారత్ లో మాత్రం అది 17 శాతంగానే ఉందని, దేశంలో 50 శాతం మహిళలు ఉద్యగాలు చేస్తే దేశ జీడీపీకి మనం 5 లక్షల కోట్ల ఆదాయం ఇవ్వగలుగుతామని వివరించారు. కానీ మహిళలు ఉద్యోగాలు చేయదగడానికి గల సౌకర్యాలు ఉన్నాయా ? అన్నది ఆలోచించాలని, ముఖ్యంగా పని ప్రదేశంలో టాయిలెట్ వంటి సౌకర్యాలు కల్పించాల్సిన అవసరం ఉందని తెలియజేశారు. భూగర్భ గనులల్లో పనిచేయడం నుంచి అంతరిక్షంలోకి వెళ్లే వరకు మహిళలు ఎదిగారని, అయినప్పటికీ అయినా అనేక అవాంతరాలు ఉన్నాయి… వాటిని అధిగమించాల్సిన అవసరం ఉందని ఎమ్మెల్సీ కవిత అభిప్రాయపడ్డారు.
