Hydetabad: South Central Railway conducted a meeting with Hon’ble Members of Parliament, covering the jurisdiction of Nanded Division. Twelve Hon’ble Members of Parliament representing the state of Maharashtra took part in the meeting held today 2026 at the Conference Hall, Divisional Railway Manager’s Office (Rail Vikas Sadan), Nanded. Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, South Central Railway; Shri Pradeep Kamle, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Nanded Division; Dr. R. Gopalakrishnan, DRM, Secunderabad; Santosh Kumar Verma, DRM, Hyderabad, Principal Heads of Departments of SCR and other senior officials attended the meeting.

Members of Parliament who attended the meeting are: Ashokrao Shankarrao Chavan; Dr. Ajeet Madhavrao Gopchade; Ramrao Sakharam Wadkute; Ravindra Vasantrao Chavan; Dr. Shivaji Bandappa Kalge; Sandipanrao Bhumare; Dr. Kalyan Vaijinathrao Kale; Nagesh Bapurao Patil Aashtikar; Sanjay Jadhav; Anup Sanjay Dhotre; Gyaneshwar Patil and Balwant Baswant Wankhade.
Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, SCR welcomed the dignitaries and briefed them on the performance of South Central Railway pertaining to Passenger services, passenger amenities at various Railway stations, enhanced connectivity with introduction of new trains, running of special trains, augmentation of additional coaches, cleanliness of stations and trains etc. The General Manager appraised the dignitaries on initiatives undertaken to strengthen Rail infrastructure in the SCR jurisdiction of Maharashtra State in the last 12 years.

The General Manager highlighted that Railway budget of Rs. 23,926 crores has been allocated to Maharashtra State being served by Central Railway, Western Railway, South Central Railway etc., He informed that 106 manned level crossing gates were eliminated and 20 RoBs and 121 RuBs were constructed in the last 12 years. He informed that 20 new train services were introduced in SCR jurisdiction of Maharashtra in the last 12 years, which include the prestigious Vande Bharat Express between Nanded – CSMT and Nagpur – Secunderabad. He also highlighted that apart from these developments, important Railway stations across Maharashtra State are being redeveloped under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The General Manager expressed that he is happy to share that two new train services were flagged off today viz. Nanded – Mumbai & Tanakpur – Nanded, he stated that these trains will enhance the connectivity between Marathwada and Vidarbha region of Maharashtra with Northern and Western parts of the Country.

The Hon’ble Members of Parliament complimented the initiative of SCR in convening the meeting. During the course of the meeting, the Hon’ble Members of Parliament raised several issues related to Railway developmental works/services in their respective constituencies. The demands raised by the Hon’ble Members included provision of improved passenger amenities, introduction of new trains, provision of additional stoppages for various express trains, augmentation of trains with additional coaches, construction of Road Over Bridges/Road Under Bridges, speeding up of pending projects etc.,
Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, SCR thanked the Hon’ble Members of Parliament for sparing their valuable time and for guidance, advice and suggestions to improve Rail infrastructure in the region. The General Manager assured the Hon’ble MPs that their suggestions will be given the top priority and best efforts will be made for implementation of the same. He also stated that, based on the need, the suggestions will be forwarded to appropriate level for further consideration.
