Hyderabad : On the occasion of the commencement of the Medaram Sammakka–Saralamma Maha Jatara, TPCC President and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud extended heartfelt greetings to the people of the state. He stated that the tribal deities Sammakka and Saralamma, who symbolize sacrifice and resistance in Telangana, continue to shine as revered goddesses worshipped by millions of devotees.
He said that Sammakka and Saralamma represent the historic struggle against injustice in Telangana’s history, and that the Medaram Jatara stands as a grand festival showcasing the greatness of tribal culture and traditions to the world. He explained that the Medaram Jatara is a rare spiritual congregation, drawing devotees not only from across the country but also from abroad, who come in large numbers to offer vows and seek fulfillment of their prayers before their beloved deities, revered like sacred gold.
He remarked that this massive gathering, attended by millions of devotees, resembles the Kumbh Mela in scale and grandeur, and stands as a matter of pride for Telangana. He wished that, with the blessings of Sammakka and Saralamma, the people of the state may be blessed with good health, happiness, and prosperity. Expressing hope that the Maha Jatara will proceed peacefully with deep devotion, he once again conveyed his warm greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of the Sammakka–Saralamma Jatara.

తెలంగాణ చరిత్రలో అన్యాయానికి ఎదురొడ్డి నిలిచిన పోరాట గాథకు సమ్మక్క–సారలమ్మలు ప్రతీకలని, ఆదివాసీ సంస్కృతి, సంప్రదాయాల గొప్పతనాన్ని ప్రపంచానికి చాటే మహోన్నత పర్వదినమే మేడారం జాతర అని ఆయన అన్నారు. కొంగుబంగారంలా కొలువైన తమ ఇలవేల్పులకు మొక్కులు చెల్లించేందుకు, కోరిన కోరికలు తీర్చాలని ఆకాంక్షిస్తూ దేశం నలుమూలల నుంచే కాక విదేశాల నుంచికూడా భక్తులు తరలివచ్చే అపూర్వ ఆధ్యాత్మిక మహోత్సవం మేడారం జాతర అని వివరించారు.
కోట్లాదిగా భక్తులు పాల్గొనే ఈ జాతర కుంభమేళాను తలపించే విధంగా విశాలత, వైభవంతో కొనసాగుతుండటం తెలంగాణకు గర్వకారణమని తెలిపారు. సమ్మక్క–సారలమ్మల ఆశీస్సులతో రాష్ట్ర ప్రజలందరికీ ఆరోగ్యం, సుఖసంతోషాలు, సమృద్ధి కలగాలని ఆయన ఆకాంక్షించారు. ఈ మహాజాతర శాంతియుతంగా, భక్తిశ్రద్ధలతో సాగాలని కోరుకుంటూ మరోసారి రాష్ట్ర ప్రజలందరికీ సమ్మక్క–సారలమ్మ జాతర శుభాకాంక్షలు తెలిపారు.
