Hyderabad : BJP State President N Ramchander Rao today asserted that Telangana’s development is taking place with central government funds. Rao was addressing gathering after hoisting national flag on the occasion of 80th Independence Day celebrations at party headquarters here and he remembered the sacrifices of the martyrs and freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the country’s independence. He extended his warm Independence Day greetings to all the people.

BJP state chief stated that the Modi government has provided numerous prestigious projects to Telangana, including the Sammakka-Sarakka Tribal University, Modernization of Secunderabad and other railway stations, Kazipet Railway Manufacturing Unit, Revival of Ramagundam Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited (RFCL), Kakatiya Mega Textile Park & Zaheerabad NIMZ, Civil Aviation Research Organization (CARO) in Hyderabad & MMTS expansion.

Lunching a vitriolic attack on Congress party, Rao lashed out fiercely against the failures, betrayals, and injustices of the Congress government in Telangana state. He alleged that while the previous BRS government had plunged the state into a debt of over Rs 4.5 lakh crore, the current Congress government, within a short span of 30 months of coming to power, has imposed an additional burden of over Rs 2 lakh crore, pushing the state deeper into a debt trap.

He further alleged that the Congress had cheated the public by throwing its six electoral guarantees, along with several other promises and BC reservation pledges, to the wind. Rao expressed anger that instead of implementing the New National Education Policy (NEP) introduced by the central government, the state government is playing with the future of students by withholding nearly Rs12,000 crore in pending fee-reimbursement dues.

He strongly criticized the state government for conspiring to hand over thousands of acres of valuable land to real estate magnates under the guise of the HILT policy and attempting to burden the public with taxes in the name of dividing the GHMC into three corporations. He clarified that over 90 per cent of the funds for the free rice scheme distributed through ration shops in the state come from the central government, adding that it is unjust to deceive people by failing to display Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s photo on smart ration cards.

BJP state chief strongly condemned the Congress party for supporting divisive forces that raise anti-national slogans like “Kashmir Azadi” in universities, as well as forces that speak in favor of Afzal Guru, who attacked the Parliament, calling it shameful. He slammed Congress alleging that since the days of the Khilafat Movement, it has been engaging in appeasement and communal politics, conspiring to divide the country in the name of South India and North India.

Rao also criticized the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi stating that despite holding a responsible position, he behaves in a way that makes the nation bow its head in shame by putting on street plays instead of discussing public issues in Parliament. He questioned why the leaders of the Congress and the INDI alliance remain silent when thousands of students in opposition-ruled Jharkhand have taken to the streets to fight for justice over the past 12 days.

Highlighting the achievement of NDA government on the occasion Rao praised that under the efficient leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the last 12 years, India has achieved incredible progress across all sectors and emerged as the world’s 4th largest economy. He stated that India has grown to the level of manufacturing indigenous fighter jets in the fields of IT, semiconductors, infrastructure, space research, and defense. He highlighted that while there were only 6 IITs in the country back then, today that number has reached 20, alongside a significant increase in the number of AIIMS, IIMs, and NITs. He mentioned that the Union Government is providing full support through schemes like Startup India, Standup India, Make in India, and MUDRA to enable the youth not just to seek jobs, but to become job creators.

The event witnessed large-scale participation from Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar, former Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, Rajya Sabha MP Dr. K. Laxman, BJP Karnataka-Tamil Nadu Co-Incharge Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, Malkajgiri MP Eatala Rajender, MLC Anji Reddy, BJP State Organizational General Secretary Chandrashekhar Tiwari, State General Secretaries Dr. N. Gautham Rao and Vemula Ashok, along with other key leaders and party workers.
