Hyderabad: Dr B R Ambedkar Open University, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Telangana Council of Higher Education organized the valedictory session of a two-day national conference on the topic “Future of Journalism in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Opportunities and Challenges” on Saturday.
Speaking as the chief guest of the program, Telangana Media Academy Chairman K. Sreenivas Reddy said that there is a possibility of making the use of artificial intelligence as a minimum qualification for the recruitment of journalists in the coming days. He advised reporters to increase their knowledge by observing the changes coming over time. He said that artificial intelligence should be used in the media industry with proper control. He urged that social media/digital media should be regulated like the Press Council of India for the regulation of print media.
Keynote speaker Mohan Ramamoorthy said that technology is growing as generations change. He suggested that new technology and devices should be used to write news with news values by adding human intelligence. He said that it is difficult for a media organization to continue in the current situation without artificial intelligence. He said that there is no technological device that is superior to human thinking and creativity.
University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani, who presided over the program, said that there are challenges such as news credibility, job stability in the media sector, and integrity of editorial methods. He revealed that there is a need to discuss the application of artificial intelligence in increasing efficiency, improving resources, as well as increasing outcomes and impact in news media.
T-SAT, SoFT Network CEO B. Venugopal Reddy said that the standards of professionalism are decreasing and artificial intelligence and advanced technology should be used in the right ways. In-charge Academic Director Prof Anand Power said that the use of artificial intelligence has become inevitable in all fields and should be used in the right way.
Seminar Director Prof Vaddanam Srinivas gave the details of the two-day conference. He said that there is a need to create artificial intelligence and new technological elements in the journalism education curriculum. Conference Co-Director Dr. Yadagiri Kambhampati, Coordinator Dr. Sunil Kumar Pothana, professors, and others participated in the program.

హైదరాబాద్ : మీడియా పరిశ్రమలో సాంకేతిక పరిజ్ఞానాన్ని స్వీకరణ తప్పనిసరని తెలంగాణ మీడియా అకాడమీ చైర్మన్ కే. శ్రీనివాస్ రెడ్డి అన్నారు. డా. బి. ఆర్. అంబేద్కర్ సార్వత్రిక విశ్వవిద్యాలయం, జర్నలిజం మాస్ కమ్యూనికేషన్ శాఖ, తెలంగాణ ఉన్నత విద్యామండలి ఆధ్వర్యంలో “కృత్రిమ మేధస్సు యుగంలో జర్నలిజం భవిష్యత్తు: అవకాశాలు, సవాళ్లు” అనే అంశంపై రెండు రోజుల జాతీయ సదస్సు ముగింపు సమావేశాన్ని శనివారం నిర్వహించారు.
కార్యక్రమానికి ముఖ్య అతిధిగా హాజరైన తెలంగాణ మీడియా అకాడమీ చైర్మన్ కే. శ్రీనివాస్ రెడ్డి మాట్లాడుతూ రానున్న రోజుల్లో పాత్రికేయుల నియామకానికి కృత్రిమ మేధస్సు వినియోగాన్ని కనీస అర్హతగా పెట్టె అవకాశం ఉందని పేర్కొన్నారు. కాలానుగుణంగా వస్తున్న మార్పులను గమనిస్తూ పరిజ్ఞానాన్ని విలేకరులు పెంచుకోవాలని సూచించారు. సరైన నియంత్రణతో మీడియా పరిశ్రమలో కృత్రిమ మేధస్సు ను ఉపయోగించుకోవాలని తెలిపారు. ముద్రణా మధ్యమ నియంత్రణకు ప్రెస్ కౌన్సిల్ అఫ్ ఇండియా ఉన్నట్లుగా సోషల్ మీడియా / డిజిటల్ మీడియాకు నియంత్రణ ఉండాలని కోరారు.
కీలక ఉపన్యాస వక్త మోహన్ రామ్మూర్తి మాట్లాడుతూ తరం తరం మారుతుంటే సాంకేతికత వృద్ధి చెందుతోందని అన్నారు. కొత్త సాంకేతికతను, పరికరాల వినియోగంలో మానవ మేథస్సును జోడించి వార్తా విలువలతో వార్తలను రాయాలని సూచించారు. ప్రస్తుత పరిస్థితుల్లో కృత్రిమ మేధస్సు లేకుండా మీడియా సంస్థ కొనసాగడం కష్టమని చెప్పారు. మానవ ఆలోచన, సృజనాత్మకతకు మించిన సాంకేతిక పరికరం లేదని చెప్పారు.
కార్యక్రమానికి అధ్యక్షత వహించిన విశ్వవిద్యాలయ ఉపకులపతి ప్రొ. ఘంటా చక్రపాణి మాట్లాడుతూ వార్తా విశ్వసనీయత, మీడియా రంగంలో ఉద్యోగ స్థిరత్వం, సంపాదకీయ పద్ధతుల సమగ్రత వంటి సవాళ్లు ఉన్నాయని చెప్పారు. వార్తా మాధ్యమాలలో సామర్థ్యాన్ని పెంచడంలో, వనరులను మెరుగుపరచడంలో, అలాగే పరిణామాలు, ప్రభావాన్ని పెంచడంలో కృత్రిమ మేథ అనువర్తనాన్ని చర్చించాల్సిన అవసరాన్ని ఉందని వెల్లడించారు.
టి-శాట్ నెట్వర్క్ సి ఏ ఓ బి. వేణుగోపాల్ రెడ్డి మాట్లాడుతూ పార్త్రికేయ ప్రమాణాలు తగ్గిపోతున్నాయని, సరైన విధానాల్లో కృత్రిమ మేధస్సు, అధునాతన సాంకేతికతను వినియోగించుకోవాలని అన్నారు. ఇంచార్జి అకాడమిక్ డైరెక్టర్ ప్రో ఆనంద్ పవర్ మాట్లాడుతూ కృత్రిమ మేధస్సు వినియోగం అన్ని రంగాల్లో తప్పనిసరైందని, సరైన మార్గంలో వినియోగించుకోవాలని అన్నారు.
రెండు రోజుల సదస్సు వివరాలను సెమినార్ డైరెక్టర్ ప్రో వడ్డాణం శ్రీనివాస్ పేర్కొన్నారు. జర్నలిజం విద్యా పాఠ్యప్రణాళికలో కృత్రిమ మేధస్సు, నూతన సాంకేతిక అంశాలను రూపొందించాల్సిన అవసరం ఉందని పేర్కొన్నారు. కార్యక్రమంలో సదస్సు కో-డైరెక్టర్ డా. యాదగిరి కంభంపాటి, సమన్వయకర్త డా. సునీల్ కుమార్ పోతన, ప్రొఫెసర్లు, తదితరులు పాల్గొన్నారు.
