Hyderabad: BRS MLC K. Kavitha took the attendees and listeners by storm with her fiery speech at BC Mahasabha by Telangana Jagruthi that took place at Indira Park today.
BRS Leader and founder of Telangana Jagruthi on the birth anniversary of Savitribai Phule, led a mass gathering to voice the concerns of BCs and remind the state govt and the national parties about their promises and duties. She primarily demanded Congress Govt in Telangana to honour Kamareddy Declaration and implement 42% reservation for BCs in local body polls, both election promises of congress that are yet to be fulfilled.
While addressing a massive Maha Sabha at Indira Park in Hyderabad today, BRS Leader MLC K. Kavitha boldly challenged her critics and political opponents and said, “If even one of my statements is proven wrong, I will step away from politics.” The Maha Sabha that was held in commemoration of the 194th birth anniversary of Savitribai Phule, the pioneering figure of Indian feminism, BRS Leader and former MP from Nizamabad Kalvakuntla Kavitha passionately spoke about the urgent need for a caste census, emphasizing the importance of carrying forward the ideals of Savitribai Phule’s movement. She accused successive national governments of failing the Backward Classes (BCs) and demanded immediate corrective measures.
Daughter of BRS Supremo KCR, MLC K. Kavitha stressed the necessity of ensuring accurate representation for BCs and outlined key resolutions: the inclusion of the caste census as part of the national survey, the installation of a statue of Jyothiba Phule in the Assembly, and the full implementation of the Kama Reddy BC declaration as it stands. She further called for the immediate implementation of the promised 42% reservations in local body elections, as committed by the Congress government. MLC K. Kavitha emphasized that, should this promise remain unfulfilled, the elections must reflect the actual population proportions of BCs, based on unbiased and accurate data.
“Those who understand history are the architects of the future. In 75 years of independence, we must reflect on the fate of the BCs. While many advocate for a caste-free society, the reality is that caste continues to shape lives in India. This is why the framers of our Constitution, led by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, ensured rights for SCs and STs. Without his foresight, these communities would still be deprived of their rightful benefits”, said MLC K. Kavitha during her address.
In response to criticism from Congress leaders about her focus on BC issues, BRS Leader and founder of Telangana Jagruthi MLC K. Kavitha explained that her timing is dictated by necessity. MLC Kavitha condemned Congress for its historical failures, such as rejecting the Kaka Kalelkar Commission report and suppressing the Mandal Commission report until it was implemented by non-Congress Prime Minister V.P. Singh. MLC Kavitha also pointed out the BJP’s role in destabilizing Singh’s government, which had made significant strides for BC welfare.

She boldly stated that she is prepared to leave politics permanently if any of her claims are proven false, challenging her critics to verify her statements. హైదరాబాద్ : రాష్ట్రంలోని కాంగ్రెస్ ప్రభుత్వం, కేంద్రంలోని బీజేపీ ప్రభుత్వం బీసీల హక్కులను కాలరాస్తున్నాయని బీఆర్ఎస్ ఎమ్మెల్సీ కల్వకుంట్ల కవిత మండిపడ్డారు. బీసీలంటే రెండు జాతీయ పార్టీలకు ఎందుకు చులకన అని నిలదీశారు. స్వతంత్రం వచ్చినప్పటి నుంచీ బీసీలకు తీరని అన్యాయం చేస్తున్న ఆ రెండు పార్టీలకు బుద్ధి చెప్పాలని పిలుపునిచ్చారు. స్థానిక సంస్థల ఎన్నికల్లో బీసీలకు 42 శాతం రిజర్వేషన్లు కల్పించడమే కాకుండా కామారెడ్డి డిక్లరేషన్ ను యధాతథంగా అమలు చేయాలని రేవంత్ రెడ్డి సర్కారును డిమాండ్ చేశారు.
బీఆర్ఎస్ హయాంలో బీసీల అభివృద్ధి, ఏడాది కాంగ్రెస్ పాలనలో చేసిన అభివృద్ధిపై చర్చించడానికి సిద్ధమా అని పీసీసీ అధ్యక్షుడు మహేష్ కుమార్ గౌడ్ విసిరిన సవాలును ఎమ్మెల్సీ కవిత స్వీకరించారు. “ఎక్కడైనా ఎప్పుడైనా ఏ గల్లీలోనైనా ఏ సెంటర్లో నైనా చర్చకు నేను సిద్ధం. తెలంగాణ వచ్చిన తర్వాత కేసీఆర్ నాయకత్వంలో మొదటి 10 ఏళ్లలో జరిగిన అభివృద్ధి ఏంది, కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీ అభివృద్ధి చేసింది ఏమిటి అన్న దానిపై చర్చించడానికి ఎక్కడికైనా వస్తాను” అని ప్రకటించారు. శుక్రవారం నాడు ఇందిరా పార్కు వద్ద తెలంగాణ జాగృతి ఆధ్వర్యంలో జరిగిన “బీసీ మహాసభ”లో ముఖ్య అతిథిగా ఎమ్మెల్సీ కవిత పాల్గొన్నారు. వేలాది మంది ప్రజలు హాజరైన ఈ సభలో దాదాపు 70కిపైగా కుల సంఘాల ప్రతినిధులు ప్రసంగించారు. స్థానిక సంస్థల ఎన్నికల్లో 42 శాతం రిజర్వేషన్లను అమలు చేసిన తర్వాతే ఎన్నికలు నిర్వహించాలని, కామారెడ్డి డిక్లరేషన్ ను యధాతథంగా అమలు చేయాలని, జనగణనలో భాగంగా కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం కులగణన చేపట్టాలని, అసెంబ్లీ ప్రాంగణంలో మహాత్మా జ్యోతిబా పూలే విగ్రహాన్ని ఏర్పాటు చేయాన్న నాలుగు తీర్మానాలను బీసీ మహాసభ ఆమోదించింది.
ఈ సందర్భంగా ఎమ్మెల్సీ కవిత ప్రసంగిస్తూ…. ఈ బీసీ మహాసభ తో చరిత్రలో ఒక మైలురాయిని వేశామని అన్నారు. బీసీలకు ఇచ్చిన హామీలను ముఖ్యమంత్రి రేవంత్ రెడ్డి విస్మరించారని విస్మరించారు. కనీస మానవత్వం లేకుండా ముఖ్యమంత్రి రేవంత్ రెడ్డి వ్యవహరిస్తున్నారని ధ్వజమెత్తారు. బీసీ వర్గాల్లో ఉన్న 130 కులాలకు ఒక్కో కులానికి ఒక్కో సమస్య ఉందని ఆవేదన వ్యక్తం చేశారు. కానీ వాటిని పరిష్కారం చేయడానికి మాత్రం ముఖ్యమంత్రికి మనసొప్పడం లేదని విమర్శించారు. కుల వృత్తుల వారికి కేసీఆర్ అమలు చేసిన పథకాలను నిలిపివేయడం దారుణనిని, కొత్త పథకాలను అమలు చేయకున్నా కనీసం పాత పథకాలను కొనసాగించాలని డిమాండ్ చేశారు. 42 శాతం రిజర్వేషన్లు ఇచ్చిన తర్వాతే స్థానిక సంస్థల ఎన్నికలు నిర్వహిస్తామని సీఎం రేవంత్ రెడ్డి హామీ ఇచ్చారని గుర్తు చేశారు. అయితే, కర్నాటక, బిహార్ వంటి విఫలైన అనుభవాలు ఉన్నా కూడా తొలుత డేడికేటెడ్ కమిషన్ ను రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం నియమించలేదని, తెలంగాణ జాగృతి ఉద్యమం చేయడం, హైకోర్టు మొట్టికాయలు వేసేంత వరకు రేవంత్ ప్రభుత్వం డెడికేటెడ్ కమిషన్ వేయలేదని తెలిపారు. బీసీల లెక్కలు ఒక కమిషన్ తీస్తుంటే… మరో కమిషన్ నివేదిక ఇస్తుందని, ఇలా చేస్తే కోర్టుల్లో నిలబడుతుందా ? అని అడిగారు.
ఎటువంటి లోటుపాట్లు లేకుండా స్థానిక సంస్థల ఎన్నికల్లో బీసీలకు 42 శాతం రిజర్వేషన్లు కల్పించాల్సిందనని స్పష్టం చేశారు. లేదంటే బీసీల జనాభా ఎంత ఉంటే అంత వాటా ఇచ్చి ఎన్నికల్లోకి వెళ్లాలని సూచించారు. దొంగ లెక్కలు, కాకిలెక్కలు కాకుండా వాస్తవ లెక్కలు తీయాలని డిమాండ్ చేశారు. మాయదారి మాటలతో, మోసపూరిత పనులతో ప్రజలను మభ్య పెట్టవద్దని సూచించారు. బీసీల గురించి ఎందుకు మాట్లాడుతున్నావంటూ కాంగ్రెస్ నాయకులు నన్ను ప్రశ్నిస్తున్నారని, సందర్భం వచ్చింది కాబట్టి మాట్లాడుతున్నానని, ఎన్నికలు పూర్తయ్యాక ఎందుకు మాట్లాడలేదని మళ్లీ కాంగ్రెస్ నాయకులే అంటారని చెప్పారు. రాజ్యాంగం రచించినప్పుడే బీసీలకు రాజ్యంగపరమైన రక్షణ కల్పించి ఉంటే అభివృద్ధిలో భారతదేశం అమెరికాను దాటేసేదని ఎమ్మెల్సీ కవిత అభిప్రాయపడ్డారు. బీసీలకు రాజ్యంగ రక్షణను సాధించడమే అంతిమ లక్ష్యమని, అందు కోసం రాజ్యంగ సవరణ జరగాల్సిన అవసరం ఉందని అన్నారు. అయితే, దాన్ని దీర్ఘకాలిక లక్యంగా పెట్టుకొని పోరాటం చేద్దామన్నారు.
మొదటి ప్రధాని జవహార్ లాల్ నెహ్రూ కాకా కాలేల్కర్ కమిషన్ నివేదికను తిరస్కరించారని, ఇది బీసీలకు కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీ చేసిన ద్రోహం కాదా అని ప్రశ్నించారు. మండల్ కమిషన్ ను మొరార్జీ దేశాయ్ నియమించారు కానీ కాంగ్రెస్ ప్రభుత్వాలు కాదని చెప్పారు. మండల్ కమిషన్ నివేదికను కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీ తొక్కిపెట్టింది కానీ అమలు చేయలేదని, 1980లో మండల్ కమిషన్ నివేదిక ఇస్తే కాంగ్రెస్ ప్రభుత్వం ఎందుకు అమలు చేయలేదని అడిగారు. మళ్లీ కాంగ్రెసేతర ప్రధాని వీపీ సింగ్ వచ్చినప్పుడే కమిషన్ నివేదికను అమలు చేసిందని, దాంతో బీసీల కోసం పని చేస్తున్న వీపీ సింగ్ ప్రభుత్వాన్ని బీజేపీ పార్టీ కూలగొట్టిందని మండిపడ్డారు.
నెహ్రూ, ఇందిరా గాంధీ, రాజీవ్ గాంధీ హయాంలో బీసీలకు అన్యాయం జరిగిందని, బీసీలకు రిజర్వేషన్లు ఇస్తే దేశం విచ్ఛిన్నం అవుతుందని రాజీవ్ గాంధీ అన్నారని ప్రస్తావించారు. 2011 కులగణన చేసిన నివేదికను అప్పటి యూపీఏ ప్రభుత్వం బహీర్గతం చేయలేదని, ఆ తర్వాత వచ్చిన బీజేపీ ప్రభుత్వం కూడా నివేదిక బయటపెట్టలేదని ఎత్తిచూపారు. కులగణన చేయబోమని బీజేపీ స్పష్టం చేసిందని గుర్తు చేశారు. తాను చెప్పిన ఈ విషయాలు తప్పయితే శాశ్వతంగా రాజకీయాల నుంచి తప్పుకుంటానని సవాలు చేశారు. కేవలం ప్రాంతీయ పార్టీలు మాత్రమే బీసీలకు న్యాయం చేశాయని అన్నారు. ముఖ్యంగా కేసీఆర్, ఎన్టీఆర్ వంటి ప్రాంతీయ పార్టీల నాయకులు మాత్రమే బీసీలకు న్యాయం చేశారని తెలిపారు. దేశానికి స్వతంత్రం వచ్చి 75 ఏళ్లు గడిచినా బీసీలకు జరిగిన లాభం ఏమిటో ఆలోచించాలని అన్నారు.
జంగుపట్టిన ప్రభుత్వ రథచక్రాలు కదులుతున్నాయి
బీసీ సంఘాలతో కలిసి తాము చేసిన ఉద్యమాల వల్లే సావిత్రీబాయి పూలే జయంతిని అధికారికంగా నిర్వహించాలని ప్రభుత్వం నిర్ణయించిందని తెలిపారు. తమ ఉద్యమాలతో జంగుపట్టిన ప్రభుత్వ రథచక్రాలు కదులుతున్నాయని అన్నారు. సావిత్రీబాయి పూలే ఆడబిడ్డ కాదు… పులిబిడ్డ అని కొనియాడారు. మహిళా విద్యాకు ఎంతగానో కృషి చేశారని, ఎంతో మంది మహిళలకు చదువును నేర్పించిన వ్యక్తి సావిత్రీబాయి అని కీర్తించారు. ఎన్ని అవాంతరాలు ఎదురైనా సమాజ వికాసం కోసం పని చేశారని చెప్పారు.
