Hyderabad : BJP State President N Ramchander Rao strongly condemned brutal lathi-charge on students who were peacefully protesting in Mahabubnagar against the objectionable remarks made by Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy about engineering students and the prolonged delay in clearing fee reimbursement dues.
Police used force to disburse protesters in which BJP Yuva Morcha leaders and BJP workers were also participated in the protests against the remarks of CM Revanth Reddy who described engineering students as “ Criminal waste”. Instead of apologizing to the student community and addressing their genuine concerns, the Congress government unleashed the police against those who raised their voices democratically, Rao , who is now in US , said in a statement. He said nearly 20 lakh students belonging predominantly to SC, ST, BC and EBC communities are facing severe hardship because their graduation and academic certificates have been withheld by educational institutions due to the government’s failure to clear pending fee reimbursement dues. As a result, students are unable to pursue higher education, apply for jobs or move forward in their professional lives.
The Congress government has not only jeopardized the future of the students but has now resorted to suppressing those who question its failures. When students, BJYM activists and BJP workers protested peacefully, the government responded with batons, he accused. In a democracy, voices questioning the government cannot be silenced through police force. Attacking those fighting for the rights and future of students is a clear reflection of the Congress government’s increasingly authoritarian style of functioning, BJP state chief said and alleged that the Congress government is attempting to intimidate and suppress anyone who demands accountability.

When police excesses or injustice against students occur in states governed by Congress or its allies, their self-proclaimed concern suddenly disappears. The BJP would continue its democratic struggle until justice is delivered to every affected students, Rao said and demanded the Telangana government immediately clear all pending fee reimbursement dues and take action against those responsible for the lathi-charge in Mahabubnagar.
Meanwhile, in his social media, BJP state chief termed state government decision against a Hyderabad Cyber Crime DCP as “ “vindictive action”, as the Congress government has relieved him after he registered FIRs against Meta and several social media accounts for posting derogatory, morphed and objectionable content targeting PM Modi. The officer was merely following the law and discharging his duty and the Congress government chosen to punish him for doing his job instead of taking action against anti-social elements involved making insulting ad hateful posts against the Prime Minister Modi. He said.
