BJP DEMANDS IMMEDIATE SOLUTION OF NON-TEACHING STAFF OF OU బోధనేతర సిబ్బంది న్యాయమైన డిమాండ్లను వెంటనే పరిష్కరించాలి

Hyderabad : BJP State President N Ramachandar Rao today said that it is extremely painful that the non-teaching staff of Osmania University have been forced to take to the streets for their legitimate rights and demanded the Congress government and University authorities to immediately invite the JAC leaders of striking employees for talks to resolve the issues.

He visited protest camp in front of the OU Administrative Building and expressed solidarity where non-teaching, technical, time-scale, and contractual staff are protesting with demands such as the implementation of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), regularization of services, and healthcare benefits.

BJP state chief warned that the party would directly back the staff’s struggle and intensify the movement if the legitimate demands of Osmania University’s non-teaching staff not resolved immediately who have been serving for decades at the historic Osmania University which is the heart of Telangana society.

Recalling his OU days, Rao noted that he completed his MA and LLB at this very university before entering public life and that his father worked and retired here as a professor. He expressed fury that employees working in such a great center of education which has produced scientists, lawyers, intellectuals, and politicians vital to nation-building lacked proper wages, job security, and pension facilities.

He criticized the university administration for acting as if it were indifferent, despite the country’s apex court, the Supreme Court, repeatedly ruling that there should be equal pay for equal work. He termed it atrocious that time-scale and contract staff, who have been struggling for 25 to 30 years with meager salaries, are not being regularized. He questioned why the benefits being extended in other universities are not being implemented in OU. Expressing anger, he stated that under the guise of the attachment of university accounts, the annual increments of Rs. 1,500 due to employees are being canceled, and their financial rights are being trampled upon in the name of PF.

Rao demanded the restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) for those appointed between 2001 and 2004, and the implementation of the CPS for those after 2004. He stated that the LIC-linked pension system, which was introduced in a manner seen nowhere else, must be canceled immediately. He demanded that employees’ medical reimbursement be increased from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 30,000, and that pending internal promotions and notifications in all departments be filled immediately.

He mocked that threatening employees for questioning their rights and imposing suspensions on those staging protests is the height of dictatorial trends. He recalled that the suspension action taken against Professor Manohar, the former association president, had also been brought to the attention of the Governor. He warned that the administration of the university rests entirely in the hands of the Vice-Chancellor, and if they act negligently without resolving employee issues, this prestigious educational institution runs the risk of disrepute.

As an OU alumnus and former president of the OU Law College Alumni, he stated that he has a responsibility to protect the dignity of the university. BJP State General Secretary Gautam Rao, former professors, student union leaders, representatives of non-teaching associations from various universities, OU JAC leaders and others also visited strike camp along with BJP state chief.

ఈ సందర్భంగా రాంచందర్ రావు మాట్లాడుతూ.. ఉస్మానియా విశ్వవిద్యాలయంతో తనకు, తన కుటుంబానికి ఉన్న విడదీయరాని అనుబంధాన్ని గుర్తు చేసుకున్నారు. తాను ఇదే వర్సిటీలో ఎంఏ, ఎల్ఎల్‌బీ పూర్తి చేసి ప్రజా జీవితంలోకి వచ్చానని, తండ్రి ఇక్కడే ప్రొఫెసర్‌గా పనిచేసి పదవీ విరమణ పొందారని తెలిపారు. సమాజ నిర్మాణానికి అవసరమైన శాస్త్రవేత్తలు, న్యాయవాదులు, మేధావులు, రాజకీయ నాయకులను తీర్చిదిద్దిన ఒక గొప్ప విద్యా కేంద్రంలో పనిచేస్తున్న ఉద్యోగులకు సరైన వేతనాలు, ఉద్యోగ భద్రత, పెన్షన్ సౌకర్యం లేకపోవడం వర్సిటీ పరిపాలన వైఫల్యానికి నిదర్శనమని మండిపడ్డారు.

సమాన పనికి సమాన వేతనం ఇవ్వాలని దేశ అత్యున్నత న్యాయస్థానం సుప్రీంకోర్టు పదేపదే తీర్పులు ఇస్తున్నా, వర్సిటీ యంత్రాంగం నిమ్మకు నీరెత్తినట్లు వ్యవహరిస్తోందని మండిపడ్డారు. 25, 30 ఏళ్లుగా చాలీచాలని వేతనాలతో కాలం వెళ్లదీస్తున్న టైమ్ స్కేల్, కాంట్రాక్ట్ సిబ్బందిని రెగ్యులరైజ్ చేయకపోవడం దారుణమన్నారు. ఇతర యూనివర్సిటీల్లో వర్తింపజేస్తున్న ప్రయోజనాలను ఓయూలో ఎందుకు అమలు చేయడం లేదని సూటిగా ప్రశ్నించారు. వర్సిటీ ఖాతాల జప్తు పేరుతో ఏటా ఉద్యోగులకు రావాల్సిన రూ. 1500 ఇంక్రిమెంట్‌ను రద్దు చేసి, పిఎఫ్ పేరుతో వారి ఆర్థిక హక్కులను కాలరాస్తున్నారని ఆగ్రహం వ్యక్తం చేశారు.

2001 నుంచి 2004 మధ్య నియమితులైన వారికి పాత పెన్షన్ విధానాన్ని (ఓపీఎస్) పునరుద్ధరించాలని, 2004 తర్వాతి వారికి సీపీఎస్ అమలు చేయాలని డిమాండ్ చేశారు. ఎక్కడా లేని విధంగా ప్రవేశపెట్టిన ఎల్‌ఐసీ లింక్డ్ పెన్షన్ విధానాన్ని తక్షణమే రద్దు చేయాలన్నారు. ఉద్యోగుల మెడికల్ రీయింబర్స్‌మెంట్‌ను రూ. 10 వేల నుంచి రూ. 30 వేలకు పెంచాలని, అన్ని విభాగాల్లో పెండింగ్‌లో ఉన్న అంతర్గత పదోన్నతులు, నోటిఫికేషన్లను వెంటనే భర్తీ చేయాలని డిమాండ్ చేశారు.

హక్కుల కోసం నిలదీస్తే ఉద్యోగులను బెదిరించడం, నిరసన తెలిపిన వారిపై సస్పెన్షన్ వేట్లు వేయడం నియంతృత్వ పోకడలకు పరాకాష్ట అని ఎద్దేవా చేశారు. గతంలో అసోసియేషన్ అధ్యక్షుడిగా ఉన్న ప్రొఫెసర్ మనోహర్ పై తీసుకున్న సస్పెన్షన్ చర్యలపైనా గవర్నర్ దృష్టికి తీసుకెళ్లామని గుర్తుచేశారు. విశ్వవిద్యాలయ పాలన పూర్తిగా వైస్ ఛాన్సలర్ చేతుల్లోనే ఉంటుందని, ఉద్యోగుల సమస్యలను పరిష్కరించకుండా నిర్లక్ష్యంగా వ్యవహరిస్తే ప్రతిష్టాత్మక విద్యాసంస్థ బద్నాం అయ్యే ప్రమాదం ఉందని హెచ్చరించారు.

ఓయూ పూర్వ విద్యార్థిగా, ఓయూ లా కాలేజీ మాజీ అలూమ్ని ప్రెసిడెంట్‌గా వర్సిటీ గౌరవాన్ని కాపాడాల్సిన బాధ్యత తనపై ఉందని ఆయన పేర్కొన్నారు. ప్రభుత్వం, వర్సిటీ ఉన్నతాధికారులు మొండివైఖరి వీడి సమ్మె చేస్తున్న బోధనేతర ఉద్యోగ జేఏసీ నాయకులను వెంటనే చర్చలకు పిలిచి సమస్యలను పరిష్కరించాలని డిమాండ్ చేశారు. లేనిపక్షంలో సిబ్బంది పోరాటానికి బీజేపీ ప్రత్యక్షంగా అండగా నిలిచి ఉద్యమాన్ని మరింత ఉధృతం చేస్తుందని హెచ్చరించారు.
