South Central Railway Conducts Massive Ticket Checking Drive Across the Zone

Hyderabad : The Commercial Department of South Central Railway conducted a massive ticket checking Drive spanning the entire jurisdiction of the zone (Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded divisions) on 03rd August, 2026. During the day long Drive, 169 trains were thoroughly checked involving 186 ticket checking staff, with focus on detecting passengers travelling without ticket, irregular travelers and passengers carrying un-booked luggage. Emphasis was also laid on penalizing offenders for smoking, littering in railway premises and unauthorized hawking.

As part of the Drive, 4121 passengers travelling without ticket/irregular travelling and carrying un-booked luggage were detected and ticket checking revenue of Rs. 30.53 lakhs was realized. In addition, 35 passengers were penalized for littering, with fines amounting to Rs. 7,300. Action was also taken against 19 unauthorized hawkers from whom penalties worth Rs. 38,000 were collected. Further, 2 passengers smoking in Railway premises were fined with Rs. 4,000.

During the drive, Ticket checking staff also educated passengers about the penalties for various offences. Passengers were also sensitized about the fire hazards associated with smoking in trains and railway premises. In addition, they were urged to refrain from littering and to help maintain clean railway stations and trains by following good civic practices.

He stated that ticket checking plays a vital role in the Railways as it helps curb ticketless and irregular travel, ensures comfortable journeys for genuine passengers and helps build confidence in the railway system.

South Central Railway appeals to passengers to travel with proper and valid tickets, cooperate with Ticket Checking Staff and adhere to railway rules. Safe, Secure and Comfortable journeys are a shared responsibility of Railways and its passengers.
