Prime Minister Narendra Modi Inaugurates Hi-tech City Railway Station

Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched various developmental projects across the Country worth Rs. 25,000 crore during his visit to Haryana, Chandigarh and Punjab today. As part the same, Narendra Modi inaugurated 75 redeveloped Railway Stations including Hi-Tech City Railway Station in Telangana (through video conference) under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme from Jalandhar Railway Station. Gulab Chand Kataria, Governor, Punjab; Ashwini Vaishnaw, Hon’ble Union Minister of Railways, Information & Broadcasting and Electronics & Information Technology and Ravneet Singh, Hon’ble Minister of State of Food Processing Industries and Railways also graced the occasion at Jalandhar station.

Simultaneously, a function was also held at Hi-Tech City Railway station in Hyderabad wherein A.V.N. Reddy,Member of Legislative Council and other dignitaries graced the occasion. Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, SCR; Dr. R. Gopalakrishnan, Divisional Railway Manager, Secunderabad Division and other senior officials were also present.

Addressing the gathering at Hi-Tech City Railway Station, A.V.N. Reddy, MLC shared his happiness on being a part of this auspicious occasion. He stated that the Nation has witnessed tremendous growth in the last 12 years under the leadership of our Prime Minister. He stated that compared to earlier times, train travel in the country has undergone major transformation. The MLC informed that Rail developmental projects worth over Rs. 40,000 crores are underway in Telangana State. Further, he stated that apart from welfare initiatives, the Union Government has been focusing on further improving connectivity, be it Roadways, Railways or Airways. He stated that special emphasis is being given to development of Railways which will cater to the needs of the middle-class citizens.

Earlier, Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, SCR presented the welcome address. He stated that it is a memorable occasion as 75 Amrit Stations across the Country have been inaugurated by the Hon’ble PM and Hi-Tech City Station of SCR is proud to be one among them. He informed that the Hi-Tech City Railway station has been redeveloped with new station building, modern passenger amenities including improved waiting halls, signages, lifts, escalators, Divyangjan facilities etc. He further stated that redevelopment works at the remaining stations in Telangana are progressing as per schedule. The General Manager stated that Telangana State has been at the heart of Rail infrastructure transformation with record Infra addition, rapid electrification and modernized passenger facilities.

On this occasion, dignitaries presented prizes to winners of essay writing, drawing & painting competitions which were held across six schools in the twin cities area on the themes “How will a developed Railway Station in my City look like?” and “What will I do to help build a Developed India?”. They also distributed prizes to winners of selfie competition held to celebrate the transformation of the redeveloped Hi-Tech City Amrit Station. Earlier, cultural program featuring singing and folk-dance performances enthralled the audience at the inaugural function.

Earlier today, Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister flagged off India’s first hydrogen-powered train between Jind and Sonipat from Jind, Haryana. The PM stated that Jind and Haryana have permanently etched their names in the pages of history. Besides being completely emission-free, India’s Hydrogen Train, stands as a remarkably successful testament to Make in India, he stated.
