Hyderabad: Labour, Employment and Mines Minister Dr. G. Vivek Venkataswamy has directed officials to focus on training and placing a good number of Telangana youth in Germany with proper skill development and German language proficiency. He said that successful placements in Germany would create enthusiasm among the educated youth in the state and inspire more young people to pursue overseas employment opportunities.
Highlighting the importance of capacity building, Dr. Vivek stressed the need for “training the trainers” and called for the immediate recruitment of highly qualified language instructors. He underlined that German language training is crucial and urged officials to strengthen language upskilling programmes.
The minister chaired a board meeting of the Telangana Overseas Manpower Company (TOMCOM) on Monday at his chamber in the Secretariat, where several key issues related to overseas employment were discussed. Dr. Vivek noted that Germany offers vast opportunities for both skilled labour and educated youth from Telangana, and encouraged TOMCOM to actively facilitate these placements.

He reiterated that TOMCOM is the state’s official and reliable agency for providing overseas job opportunities.Officials briefed the Minister on ongoing efforts to place semi-skilled workers in GCC countries. Dr. Vivek instructed them to collect regular feedback from workers employed abroad and submit periodic reports to improve support systems and processes.
The minister said that each country has its own culture and youth need to be trained on cultural orientation of those countries. He asked the officials to come up with target-based proposals in terms of training and recruitment of the youth through TOMCOM. He further directed TOMCOM to enhance its efficiency and working standards, stating that Telangana should set an example for other states in overseas employment initiatives.
The Minister reaffirmed that the Telangana government is committed to creating global employment opportunities for the youth and is taking all necessary steps to achieve this goal.
