Hyderabad: Satish Kumar, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Railway Board conducted detailed inspection of Railway Manufacturing Unit (RMU), Kazipet, Charlapalli Rail terminal, Jangaon Amrit station and IRISET today. He was accompanied by Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, South Central Railway; Dr. R. Gopalakrishnan, Divisional Railway Manager, Secunderabad Division and other senior Railway officials through the inspection.

Satish Kumar commenced the inspection from Kazipet Railway station, wherein he reviewed the on-going Amrit Station works and also inspected amenities available at the station. Satish Kumar visited Railway Manufacturing Unit at Kazipet which is being constructed at a cost of Rs. 597.68 Crore. The RMU is aimed to manufacture and maintain variety of modern rolling stock and next-gen Railway coaches. The Chairman, Railway Board reviewed the progress of on-going construction works at the RMU.

RVNL officials explained the topography of the Manufacturing Unit by depicting the miniature model available at the site office. A detailed power point presentation was also given by the concerned officials about the functionalities of each unit and the progress of the works. Further, he inspected the main shed, bogie shop, paint shop, wheel shop and testing shop. During the course of inspection, he interacted with the media personnel and elaborated on the progress of works at RMU and its benefits.

Further, Chairman & CEO conducted a rear window inspection from Kazipet to Charlapalli, enroute he also inspected Jangaon Railway station and reviewed the passenger amenities, circulating area and the on-going redevelopment works. At Charlapalli station, Shri Satish Kumar inspected the tracks, points & crossings, yard and other passenger amenities available at the new rail terminal. He also interacted with the trackmen and gang-men at Charlapalli terminal and discussed about their duties.

In addition, Satish Kumar visited Indian Railways Institute of Signal Engineering & Telecommunications & Centre of Excellence (COE), wherein he interacted with the officials involved in the implementation of KAVACH, the indigenously designed Anti-Collision system. Further, the concerned officials elaborated the deployment status of KAVACH across Indian Railways through a power-point presentation.

Later, CRB & CEO visited Rail Nilayam, SCR Headquarters and held a detailed performance review meeting with General Manager, SCR and other senior Railway officials. A power point presentation was given by the officials on the general performance of the zone.
