హైదరాబాద్ : మహిళా విద్యార్ధులు ఆర్ధిక స్వావలంభన సాధించడం, వారు పారిశ్రామిక వేత్తలుగా ఎదగాల్సిన అవసరం ఉందని డా. బి. ఆర్. అంబేద్కర్ సార్వత్రిక విశ్వవిద్యాలయం వైస్ ఛాన్సలర్ ఆచార్య ఘంటా చక్రపాణి ఆకాంక్షించారు. విశ్వవిద్యాలయ మహిళాభివృద్ధి, విస్తరణ కేంద్రం ఆధ్వర్యంలో “గివ్ టు గైన్” అనే అంశంపై అంతర్జాతీయ మహిళా దినోత్సవాన్ని నిర్వహించగా ప్రొ. చక్రపాణి ముఖ్య అతిథిగా పాల్గొని ప్రసంగించారు.
ఈ విద్య సంవత్సరం నుండి వి – హబ్ తో కలిసి “వి – ఎనేబుల్” అనే కార్యక్రమాన్ని ప్రారంభించినట్లు పేర్కొన్నారు. తమ విశ్వవిద్యాలయం ద్వారా మహిళా విద్యార్ధులు ఎక్కువ సంఖ్యలో ఉన్నత విద్యను అభ్యసిస్తున్నారని మొత్తం విద్యార్ధుల్లో మహిళలు 49 శాతం ఉండడం ఆనందాన్ని ఇస్తుందని ప్రొ. చక్రపాణి వెల్లడించారు. రానున్న రోజుల్లో మహిళా సాధికారతకు పెద్ద పీట వేస్తామని, ప్రఖ్యాత సంస్థలతో అవగాహన కల్పించుకోనున్నట్లు వెల్లడించారు.
ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో తెలంగాణ ఫారెస్ట్ అకాడమీ, డైరెక్టర్ డా. ప్రియాంక వర్గీస్, ఐ.ఎఫ్.యస్ ప్రధాన వక్తగా పాల్గొన్నారు. డా. వర్గీస్ మాట్లాడుతూ విద్య, కనీస వనరులు కల్పించడం వల్ల మహిళలు చదువుతో పాటు ఆర్ధిక స్వావలంభన సాధించడానికి అవకాశాలు కల్పించినట్లు అవుతుందని వెల్లడించారు. మహిళలకు గౌరవం అనేది మొదటగా తన ఇంటి నుంచే దక్కాలని అప్పుడే వారిలో మనో నిబ్బరం పెంపొందుతుందని, తద్వారా ఉత్తమ ఫలితాలు సాధించడానికి, ఎంచుకున్న వృత్తిలో రాణించడానికి అవకాశం ఉంటుందని ఆమె వెల్లడించారు. మాజీ రాష్ట్రపతి డా. ఏ. పి. జే. అబ్దుల్ కలాం చెప్పినట్లు మాహిళా విద్యార్ధులు పెద్ద పెద్ద కలలు కనాలని, వాటిని సాకారం చేసుకోవడానికి ప్రణాళికా ప్రకారం కష్టపడాలని దీంతో విజయాన్ని సులువుగా అందుకోవచ్చని వివరించారు. మహిళా విద్యాభివృద్ధికి, మహిళల సాధికారతకు అంబేద్కర్ ఓపెన్ యూనివర్సిటీ చేస్తున్న కృషిని, వీసీ ప్రొ. చక్రపాణి ముందు చూపును ఆమె కొనియాడారు.
ఈ కార్యక్రమానికి విశ్వవిద్యాలయ అకాడమిక్ డైరెక్టర్ ప్రొ. జి. పుష్పా చక్రపాణి అధ్యక్షత వహించారు. ఆమే మాట్లాడుతూ ప్రపంచంలో స్త్రీని మించిన మహా శక్తి ఏదీ లేదని, స్త్రీ లేకపోతే ఈ సృష్టే లేదన్నారు. మహిళల సాధికారత, అభ్యున్నతి, వివక్ష నిర్మూలన పై తమ విశ్వవిద్యాలయం ద్వారా పాఠ్యాంశాలను అందిస్తున్న విషయాన్ని ఆమె గుర్తు చేశారు.
కార్యక్రమంలో గౌరవ అతిధిగా పాల్గొన్న విశ్వవిద్యాలయ రిజిస్ట్రార్ డా. యల్. విజయ కృష్ణా రెడ్డి మాట్లాడుతూ మహిళా సాధికారతే లక్ష్యంగా తమ యూనివర్సిటీ అనేక నిర్ణయాలు తీసుకుంటుందని, వీటిని మహిళా విద్యార్ధులు అందిపుచ్చుకోవాలని ఆయన పిలుపునిచ్చారు. విశ్వవిద్యాలయ మహిళా అభివృద్ధి, విస్తరణ కేంద్రం ఇంచార్జ్, ప్రొ. కె. రాణి రజిత మాధురి మాట్లాడుతూ కార్యక్రమం నిర్వహణ ఆవశ్యకతను వివరిస్తూ, ప్రధాన వక్తను సభకు పరిచయం చేశారు.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATIONS AT BRAOU
Hyderabad : Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU), Women’s Development and Extension Centre (WDEC) today celebrated International Women’s Day on “Give to Gain” at its Campus at Jubilee Hills on Wednesday. Prof. Ghanta Chakrpani, Vice-Chancellor, BRAOU attended as the chief guest for the function.
Prof. Chakrapani emphasized the need for female students to achieve financial self-reliance and to emerge as entrepreneurs. The university has taken an initiative for women learners to make Women Entrepreneurs, to transform the entrepreneurial landscape by fostering innovation and leadership among women in both urban and rural areas, thus effecting social empowerment through economic enablement. “We Enable” – A Collaborative Program to Empower Female Student Learners by building entrepreneurial mind-set and enhancing employability Skills.
WE-Enable is a customized future-ready program designed to equip female students pursuing any undergraduate or postgraduate degree. Prof. Chakrapani stated that a large number of female students are pursuing higher education through their university, adding that the fact that women constitute 49 percent of the total student body brings him great joy. He further announced that, in the coming days, they would accord top priority to women’s empowerment and establish collaborations with renowned institutions.
Dr. Priyanka Varghese, IFS, Director, Telangana Forest Academy, Hyderabad was the keynote speaker for the program. Dr. Varghese stated that providing education and basic resources creates opportunities for women to achieve not only academic advancement but also economic self-reliance. She emphasized that women deserve to receive respect first and foremost within their own homes; only then can they cultivate the inner strength and confidence necessary to achieve excellent results and excel in their chosen professions.
She emphasized the words of former President Dr. A. P.J. Abdul Kalam, she urged female students to dream big and to work hard in a systematic and planned manner to realize those dreams, thereby making it easier to attain success. She also lauded the efforts undertaken by the Ambedkar Open University toward the advancement of women’s education and empowerment, as well as the visionary leadership of Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani.
Prof. G. Pushpa Chakrpani, Director Academic, BRAOU preside over the program. Speaking on the occasion, she asserted that there is no greater power in the world than a woman, adding that without women, creation itself would not exist. She also highlighted that their university offers courses focused on women’s empowerment, advancement, and the elimination of discrimination.
Dr. L. Vijaya Krishna Reddy, Registrar of the University attended as guest of honour for the program. He stated that the university is implementing various initiatives with the specific objective of empowering women, and he urged female students to take full advantage of these opportunities.
Prof. K. Rani Rajitha Madhuri, I/c WDEC explain the aims, objectives of the program and presented a detailed report on the Women’s Development & Extension Centre activities and introduced about the guest speaker.
