Peddapalli MP Vamsi Krishna Pushes for Transparent Salary Reforms for Parliamentarians Based on Public Availability

Bengaluru/Hyderabad : Peddapalli MP Gaddam Vamsi Krishna has proposed a more transparent and efficient salary-allowance system for Members of Parliament, aligning it with their increasing responsibilities, ground-level challenges, and constant availability to the public. Vamsi was participating in the Joint Committee on Salaries and Allowances of Members of Parliament (2025-26), under the Chairmanship of MP Birendra Prasad Baishya, during their Study Visit to Bengaluru.

The meeting was constituted to conduct a comprehensive study on the salaries, allowances, and working conditions of MPs across the country. MP Vamsi Krishna brought to the committee’s attention crucial issues such as the day-by-day increasing responsibilities of public representatives, the problems faced at the field level, and the need to be available to the public at all times.

He made it clear that, given the continuous work done by MPs as the voice of the people in Parliament, there is a pressing need to design the salary and allowance system in a more transparent and efficient manner. Along with the issue of salaries, MP Vamsi Krishna also brought to the committee’s attention the need to introduce additional trains through Peddapalli in view of the upcoming Sammakka-Saralamma Jatara, the biggest festival in Telangana.

He also stressed the need to seriously consider and immediately complete the pending railway construction works and other related issues in Peddapalli. He explained that local commuters and workers are facing severe difficulties due to these pending issues.The committee members were impressed by the suggestions raised by MP Vamsi Krishna’and assured that they would take the issues he raised into consideration.
