Hyderabad; Telangana BJP President N. Ramchander Rao today offered floral tributes to revered Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee on the occasion of his Balidan Diwas and addressed the media. Speaking on the occasion, Ramchander Rao said that Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee’s life was a shining example of sacrifice, courage and uncompromising commitment to the nation.
He said that the Telangana BJP State Office building itself is named after Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee which was suggested by Advaniji, who drew parallel of Kashmir and Hyderabad of 1950s. “During those times, Hyderabad was under the Nizam’s rule, while Jammu and Kashmir too faced the challenge of complete integration with Bharat. Just as Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel played a decisive role in integrating Hyderabad and other princely states, Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee gave his life for the complete integration of Jammu and Kashmir with India,” he said.

Ramchander Rao stated that if West Bengal remains an integral part of Bharat today, it is because of the firm and historic role played by Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee. He fought fearlessly for the protection of Hindus and stood strongly against divisive and appeasement politics. He also recalled that Dr. Mookerjee was a great scholar and administrator who became the youngest Vice-Chancellor of Calcutta University. Despite holding important positions, he always placed the nation above personal power or position.
