Hyderabad: MNR University has taken proactive steps to implement the UGC’s directives and advisories on curbing the menace of ragging in higher educational institutions. As part of this initiative, the university observed Anti-Ragging Day on August 12, 2025, followed by Anti-Ragging Week from August 12 to 18, 2025.
Inaugural Ceremony
The inaugural ceremony to mark the awareness program on Anti-Ragging and International Youth Day was held in the Auditorium of MNR-HERA campus. The function was presided over by Dr. M. Christopher, Registrar of the University, and attended by students, faculty, and non-teaching staff of MNR University and Colleges under MNR Educational Trust.
Awareness and Sensitization
During the program, Dr. T. V. Satyanarayana, Advisor, MNR University, gave a brief account of the UGC’s regulations on anti-ragging, while Dr. J. S. Ravikumar, Director (Academics), emphasized the university’s zero-tolerance stand on ragging. Prof. A. Sivasankar, Dean of Students Welfare, explained in detail what constitutes ragging and the punishments thereof as per UGC.
Interactive Address by Chief Guest
The Chief Guest, Sri Kranti Kumar, Circle Inspector, Sangareddy Rural, accompanied by Sub-Inspectors Ravinder and Ms. Harika, gave a detailed account of the punishments against involvement in ragging. The program ended with a vote of thanks by the Dean of Students Welfare.
Conclusion
The Anti-Ragging Week included various literary competitions, including a national contest held by UGC, and the screening of videos on anti-ragging and Viksit Bharat. The program aimed to increase awareness among students and staff about the importance of preventing ragging and promoting a safe and respectful campus environment.

रैगिंग विरोधी और अंतर्राष्ट्रीय युवा दिवस के जागरूकता कार्यक्रम के उद्घाटन समारोह का आयोजन एमएनआर-हेरा परिसर के सभागार में किया गया। इस कार्यक्रम की अध्यक्षता डॉ. एम. क्रिस्टोफर, विश्वविद्यालय के रजिस्ट्रार ने की और इसमें एमएनआर विश्वविद्यालय और एमएनआर शैक्षिक ट्रस्ट के तहत कॉलेजों के छात्र, संकाय और गैर-शिक्षण कर्मचारियों ने भाग लिया।
जागरूकता और संवेदनशीलता
कार्यक्रम के दौरान, डॉ. टी. वी. सत्यनारायण, सलाहकार, एमएनआर विश्वविद्यालय ने यूजीसी के रैगिंग विरोधी नियमों का संक्षिप्त विवरण दिया, जबकि डॉ. जे. एस. रविकुमार, निदेशक (शिक्षा) ने रैगिंग पर विश्वविद्यालय के शून्य सहनशीलता के रुख पर जोर दिया। प्रो. ए. शिवशंकर, छात्र कल्याण संकाय ने विस्तार से बताया कि यूजीसी के अनुसार रैगिंग क्या है और इसके लिए क्या दंड है।
मुख्य अतिथि का संवाद
मुख्य अतिथि, श्री क्रांति कुमार, सर्कल इंस्पेक्टर, संगारेड्डी ग्रामीण, उप-निरीक्षकों श्री रविंदर और मिस. हरीका के साथ, रैगिंग में शामिल होने के खिलाफ दंड का विस्तृत विवरण दिया। कार्यक्रम का समापन छात्र कल्याण संकाय के धन्यवाद ज्ञापन के साथ हुआ।
