Hyderabad: Arvind Dharmapuri, Member of Parliament, Nizamabad dedicated Jankampet Goods Shed in Telangana to the Nation today. D. S. Rama Rao, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Hyderabad Division; A. Sridhar, Chief Public Relations Officer, South Central Railway; Anirudh Pamar, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Hyderabad Division; P.T.V. Durga Prasad, Senior Divisional Engineer/Co-ordination, Hyderabad Division and other senior Railway officials were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Arvind Dharmapuri, MP stated that Rail network in Telangana State has witnessed major infrastructural and passenger centric developments under the leadership of Narendra Modi, Prime Minister. He stated that the budget outlay in the State has increased by more than 20 times since 2014 to presently reach Rs. 5,454 crores in the current financial year 2026-27. He informed that in the last 12 years, 340 Kms of new track, 562 Kms of double line, third line and fourth line have been laid and the electrification of the entire Rail network in Telangana (except Manoharabad – Siddipet line) has been completed. The total cost of various on-going Railway projects in Telangana is Rs. 42,000 crores, he added.

Further, the MP expressed that the newly constructed goods shed at Jankampet station is a significant milestone for the region. He stated that the goods shed will facilitate the transportation of local goods to various parts of the Country and will be beneficial for farmers, traders, merchants and business communities. The Hon’ble MP stated the Jankampet goods shed has been developed with a cost of Rs. 9 crores to further expand the freight and goods handling facilities in the Nizamabad area. He stated that currently the main consignments being loaded at the goods shed are Rice, Mazie, Jowari while the unloading consists of Fertilizers and Cement. There is also potential for further increase of goods trains handling and commodities at this goods shed, he added.

Arvind Dharmapuri, detailed on various Rail developmental projects undertaken in the region including redevelopment of Nizamabad Station with a cost of Rs. 58 crores as part of Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, implementation of Kavach 4.0, yard remodelling work at Nizamabad station, Construction of three Road Over Bridge in Nizamabad constituency etc.

Earlier, D. S. Rama Rao, Additional DRM presented the welcome address. He stated that Hyderabad Division has been playing a vital role in the growth trajectory of the zone by contributing to various aspects like infrastructure development, Passenger services etc. He stated that the Jankampet goods shed will further improve the freight basket of the zone and will immensely benefit the local traders. He stated that the goods shed has been developed with a wide circulating area for easy movement of road vehicles and the approach roads are also developed with easy access to the main road.

Speaking on the occasion, A. Sridhar, CPRO/SCR stated that today marks an important occasion for the people of Nizamabad also as a new goods shed has been commissioned. He stated that the Jankampet goods shed will further strengthen the freight infrastructure in the region and facilitate smooth freight operations. He also stated that the goods shed is well equipped with loading platforms, adequate lighting facility and approach road. Works for construction of Hamal room and Merchant room are progressing at a fast pace, he added.
On this auspicious occasion, Arvind Dharmapuri, MP along with Railway officials participated in a Tree plantation program to further improve the greenery in the goods shed premises.
