Hyderabad: Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, South Central Railway held a detailed meeting on safety of train operations and summer preparedness across the zone today i.e., 04th May, 2026 at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad. Shri Satya Prakash, Additional General Manager, SCR participated in the meeting along with Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all the six divisions viz., Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded Divisions joined the review meeting through video conference.

During the review meeting, Sanjay Kumar Srivastava emphasized on importance of summer preparedness in view of the prevailing heat wave conditions to ensure safe and uninterrupted train operations. The General Manager advised the officials to focus on strengthening of tracks to withstand high temperatures and ensure ballast filling on tracks, wherever required. Further, the General Manager advised the officials and supervisors to sensitize the track patrol staff on importance of summer precautions while working in hot weather conditions. He also advised the officials to ensure provision of protective gears for Gang-men and availability of adequate drinking water and oral rehydration solutions at the work spots.

Further, the General Manager reviewed the fire safety drive being carried out by the zone to prevent any fire incidents in trains during summer. He also took stock on the provision of CCTV cameras at private sidings, goods sheds and advised the officials to further expedite the process. The General Manager reviewed the track fencing at some locations prone to trespassing and advised the officials to stay vigilant.
