Good News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Inaugurate Hi-tech City Railway Station on 17th

Hyderabad: Narendra Modi, Prime Minister will launch various developmental projects across the Country worth Rs. 25,000 crore during his visit to Haryana, Chandigarh and Punjab on 17th July. As part the same, Narendra Modi will inaugurate 75 redeveloped Railway Stations including Hi-Tech City Railway Station in Telangana (through video conference) under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Accordingly, a function will also be held at Hi-Tech City Railway station, for which local public representatives will grace the occasion.

The inauguration of 75 Amrit Stations across 20 States marks another significant milestone under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, one of the world’s largest station redevelopment programmes. Developed at a cost of about Rs. 1,570 crore, these stations have been transformed into modern, passenger-friendly facilities. Redeveloped in the spirit of ‘Virasat Bhi, Vikas Bhi’, the stations incorporate elements reflecting local culture, heritage and architecture.

Telangana’s Hi-Tech City Railway Station, has been redeveloped at a cost of Rs. 26 crore. Showcasing contemporary architecture, airport-like passenger spaces and new-age aesthetics. The transformed station offers a spacious, technology-driven and commuter-centric environment, creating a seamless, efficient and future-ready gateway to Hyderabad’s thriving IT corridor. Hi-Tech City Railway Station is among the 40 railway stations identified for redevelopment under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme in Telangana.

The Prime Minister will also flag off India’s first hydrogen-powered train between Jind and Sonipat, marking an important step towards the adoption of clean and sustainable mobility in the railway sector. Designed, engineered and integrated in India, the train has been developed using indigenous technology, reflecting the country’s growing capabilities in advanced railway engineering. With its introduction, India joins the select group of countries that have operational hydrogen-powered trains. India’s hydrogen train features a 10-coach configuration, making it among the longest hydrogen-powered passenger trains developed so far. It is powered by a 3,200 HP propulsion system, making it one of the most powerful hydrogen-powered trainsets in operation.
