Hyderabad: With a vision to provide World-class facilities to the passengers, a major transformation is in progress for Indian Railways with up gradation of Railway stations on a massive scale under “Amrit Station Scheme”. Accordingly, Railway Stations across the country have been identified to redevelop as Amrit Station to provide modern passenger amenities and to convert them into growth centres to the regional population.

The mission got a major boost when the Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for stations redevelopment in the state of Telangana during August, 2023 and February, 2024. The Amrit Station policy was formulated by the Ministry of Railways, which is aimed to modernize Railway stations, envisaging development on a continuous basis with a long-term vision. The idea is based on implementation of various critical elements as per a master plan that caters to ever-increasing needs and enhanced patronage of the Railway stations.

Hi-tech City Railway Station is the nearest railhead to reach the Cyber city, a prominent place for the Information Technology (IT) industry located in the twin cities of Hyderabad. With expansion of IT Corridor within the vicinity of the station surroundings, several construction activities are also taken place in a large scale. Due to this all class of passengers right from contract labor to corporate techies are using this station for daily commuting. Considering all this station has been redeveloped as Amrit Station.

Salient Features of Hi-tech City Amrit Railway station

Hi-tech City Railway station falls under Secunderabad Division and is categorized as Sub-urban station.
This station falls in Lingampalli– Secunderabad suburban route and serves the passengers in and around Hitech City area, especially the Western side of the Hyderabad city, which is undergoing rapid development.
This station is dealing with only suburban trains and around 62 trains ply from this station to Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Umdanagar, Falaknuma, Medchal and Ghatkesar.
The footfall of the station is around 3000 passengers per day.

Provision of 12-M Foot Over Bridge in addition to the existing 2mts Foot Over Bridge.
At present 2 lifts are available, Provision of 2 additional passenger lifts and 2 escalators.
Platform Improvements & Additional Cover Over Platform, Toilet Blocks, Waiting hall, Landscaping, Façade Lighting, Passenger friendly signage.
New Station Building with improved Façade.
Drainage & Water Supply, Divyangjan Facilities.
Refurbishment/Dismantling of Existing station Building.
At present, there is no waiting area. New Waiting area constructed.
Entrance ambience enhanced by constructing a new portico.
Modern toilet blocks constructed including for Divyangjan.
