Hyderabad: Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, South Central Railway, conducted a high-level review meeting today at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad. The session focused on evaluating the zone’s readiness to tackle challenges posed by upcoming monsoons and ensuring uninterrupted, safe train operations. The meeting was attended by Satya Prakash, Additional General Manager, SCR, along with Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all three divisions—Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded joined via video conferencing.

In view of the upcoming monsoon season and recognizing the risks posed by overgrown vegetation, Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, South Central Railway, directed teams to cut, trim, and notch trees near railway tracks and Overhead Equipment (OHE) to prevent untoward incidents. He emphasized that field supervisors must remain vigilant, ensuring that any issue is addressed and resolved without delay.

The review placed strong emphasis on maintaining close watch to ensure safe train operations. Officials were instructed to prevent miscreant activities such as placing loose metallic items or leaving construction materials on tracks and OHE, which could lead to operational hazards.

The General Manager further instructed officials to conduct regular inspections, maintain round-the-clock surveillance at critical locations and complete all pending repair works immediately. These proactive measures are aimed at strengthening safety and reliability of train services during the monsoon season.
