Hyderabad : Telangana State BJP President N Ramchander Rao today emphasized that the vote is not just a right but a “weapon” to bring change to society and called upon every citizen to exercise their franchise in every elections.
Rao was addressing a meeting of first time voters held at state office here who had interaction with them on the occasion of National Voters’ Day. It was an attempt to create awareness among first time voters about the importance and power of vote. Recalling the instances of attempts to “ murder” democracy or change the constitutions in India, he asserted that the Indian people have thwarted such conspiracies every time through elections.
Rao emphasized the vote is not just a scared right in a democracy but also it is responsibility of every citizen. He further stated that the political power can be shifted through the vote. It is the people’s vote that determines the victory or defeat of leaders, not just in India but globally. He remarked that “ the ballot is stronger than the bullet”. He said Abraham Lincoln, the son of a shoemaker, became the president of the USA and a person who sold tea became the Prime Minister of India that proves the power of the ballot.
The BJP state chief expressed concern over declining voting percentages among the educated and urged for greater awareness of the vote’s value. He said right to vote is granted at age 18 and only by voting does one earn the right to question the government. Recalling the history of power of vote, Rao said Indian public defeated the emergency imposed during Indira Gandhi’s tenure and Atal Bihari Vajpayee who lost his government by a single vote in parliament but adhered to moral values, only to be re-elected by the people later.
He warned against conspiracies in some universities aimed at fragmenting the nation. The asserted that the society can not be changed through guns, bombs or terrorism, the change must come through democratic means. Rao said India is the world’s largest democracy and the world learns from our democratic process and noted that even during “ hung parliaments” the constitution provided solution.
He cautioned Gen-Z youth against misleading by disruptive forces citing examples from countries like Nepal and Bangladesh. The meeting was attended by BJP State General Secretary Dr N Gautham Rao, BJYM State President Ganesh Kunde, and other prominent leaders.

హైదరాబాద్ : భారతీయ జనతా పార్టీ రాష్ట్ర కార్యాలయంలో నూతన ఓటర్లతో బీజేపీ తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్ర అధ్యక్షుడు ఎన్. రాంచందర్ రావు ఆధ్వర్యంలో సమావేశం నిర్వహించారు. జాతీయ ఓటర్ల దినోత్సవం సందర్భంగా తొలిసారి ఓటు హక్కు పొందిన యువతను ఈ సందర్భంగా సన్మానించారు.
ఈ సమావేశంలో ఎన్. రాంచందర్ రావు గారు మాట్లాడుతూ… భారతదేశంలో ఎన్నికల నిర్వహణ కోసం 1951 జనవరి 25న ఎలక్షన్ కమిషన్ ఆఫ్ ఇండియా ఏర్పాటు చేయబడిందని, అందుకే ఈ రోజును జాతీయ ఓటర్ల దినోత్సవంగా జరుపుకుంటున్నామని తెలిపారు. ఓటు ప్రజాస్వామ్యంలో పవిత్రమైన హక్కు మాత్రమే కాదు, ప్రతి పౌరుడి బాధ్యత కూడా అని స్పష్టం చేశారు. “బ్యాలెట్ బుల్లెట్ కన్నా శక్తివంతమైనది” అనే మాట ప్రజాస్వామ్య బలాన్ని తెలియజేస్తుందని అన్నారు.
ఓటు ద్వారా రాజ్యాధికారాన్ని మార్చగలమని, దేశంలోనే కాదు ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా నాయకులను గెలిపించగలిగింది, ఓడించగలిగింది కూడా ప్రజల ఓటేనని పేర్కొన్నారు. అమెరికాలో చెప్పులు కుట్టే వ్యక్తి అబ్రహాం లింకన్ అధ్యక్షుడు కావడం, భారతదేశంలో ఒక చాయ్ అమ్మే వ్యక్తి ప్రధానమంత్రి కావడం ప్రజాస్వామ్యంలోని బ్యాలెట్ శక్తికి నిదర్శనమని చెప్పారు.
ప్రజాస్వామ్యంలో ప్రజల ఆలోచన, ఆకాంక్ష, హక్కు అన్నీ ఓటు ద్వారా వ్యక్తమవుతాయని అన్నారు. మన దేశంలో ప్రజాస్వామ్యాన్ని ఖూనీ చేయడానికి, రాజ్యాంగాన్ని మార్చే ప్రయత్నాలు చేసిన సందర్భాలు ఉన్నాయని, కానీ ప్రతి సారి భారత ప్రజలు ఎన్నికల ద్వారానే అలాంటి కుట్రలను తిప్పికొట్టారని గుర్తు చేశారు.
కొంతమంది తమను మేధావులమని చెప్పుకుంటూ రౌండ్ టేబుల్ సమావేశాల్లో ప్రభుత్వాలను విమర్శిస్తారని, కానీ ఓటు వేయడానికి ముందుకు రారని విమర్శించారు. చదువుకున్నవారిలోనే ఓటింగ్ శాతం తగ్గుతుండటం ఆందోళనకరమని, అందుకే ఓటు హక్కు విలువను గుర్తించి అవగాహన పెంచుకోవాల్సిన అవసరం ఉందన్నారు. 18 సంవత్సరాలు పూర్తయిన వెంటనే ఓటు హక్కు లభిస్తుందని, ఓటు వేస్తేనే ప్రశ్నించే అధికారం వస్తుందని స్పష్టం చేశారు.
భారతదేశ యువతపై అత్యంత పెద్ద బాధ్యత ఉందని, యువత దేశం గురించి ఆలోచించేలా ముందుకు వెళ్లాలని పిలుపునిచ్చారు. కొన్ని విశ్వవిద్యాలయాల్లో దేశాన్ని ముక్కలు చేయాలనే కుట్రలు జరుగుతున్నాయని, దేశ ఐక్యతను బలహీనపర్చే శక్తులు పనిచేస్తున్నాయని హెచ్చరించారు. తుపాకులు పట్టుకుని, బాంబులు వేసి, ఉగ్రవాదంతో సమాజాన్ని మార్చలేరని, భారతదేశంలో రాజ్యాధికారం మారాలన్నా, సమాజం మారాలన్నా ప్రజాస్వామ్య మార్గంలోనే జరగాలని స్పష్టం చేశారు.

మనము ఒక రాష్ట్రంగా కొనసాగుతున్నామంటే అది కూడా ప్రజాస్వామ్య విజయమేనని చెప్పారు. ఇందిరాగాంధీ హయాంలో ప్రజాస్వామ్యాన్ని నొక్కిపెట్టేలా ఎమర్జెన్సీ విధించారని, కానీ ఆ ప్రయత్నాలను భారత ప్రజలు ఎన్నికల ద్వారానే ఓడించారని గుర్తు చేశారు. అటల్ బిహారీ వాజ్పేయి గారి హయాంలో పార్లమెంటులో ఒక్క ఓటుతో ప్రభుత్వం కోల్పోయినా, ఆయన నైతిక విలువలకు కట్టుబడి వ్యవహరించారని, ఆ తరువాత అదే ప్రజలు ఎన్నికల ద్వారా వాజ్పేయి గారి ప్రభుత్వాన్ని మళ్లీ ఎన్నుకున్నారని తెలిపారు.
నేటి జెన్–జీ యువతను నేపాల్, బంగ్లాదేశ్ వంటి దేశాల్లో తప్పుదారి పట్టిస్తున్న ఉదాహరణలు ఉన్నాయని హెచ్చరించారు.
ప్రపంచంలో దేశాన్ని ప్రేమించాలి, సమాజాన్ని గౌరవించాలి, మానవత్వాన్ని ప్రేమించాలి అనే విలువలు భారతదేశంలోనే బలంగా ఉన్నాయని, స్వామి వివేకానంద, దయానంద సరస్వతి వంటి మహనీయులు చాటిచెప్పిన సిద్ధాంతాలే భారతదేశాన్ని “హ్యూమన్ కంట్రీ”గా తీర్చిదిద్దాయని అన్నారు.
భారతదేశం ప్రజాస్వామ్యాన్ని గౌరవించే దేశమని, ఓటు మన హక్కు మాత్రమే కాదు.. సమాజంలో మార్పు తీసుకొచ్చే ఆయుధమని స్పష్టం చేశారు. అందుకే ప్రతి ఎన్నికలో ప్రతి పౌరుడు తన ఓటు హక్కును తప్పనిసరిగా వినియోగించాలని పిలుపునిచ్చారు. ఈ సమావేశంలో బీజేపీ రాష్ట్ర ప్రధాన కార్యదర్శి డా. ఎన్. గౌతం రావు, బిజెవైఎం రాష్ట్ర అధ్యక్షుడు గణేష్ కుండే గారు, తదితర నాయకులు పాల్గొన్నారు.
