Hyderabad: Minister for IT and Industries, Duddilla Sridhar Babu, questioned whether the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which the BRS once vilified as corrupt and oppressive, has now become a paragon of virtue in their eyes. He pointed out the irony that the same investigative agency they now praise had previously registered a case against K. Kavitha. In a statement released on Saturday, the Minister demanded clarity from the BRS: Are they now justifying the politically motivated and baseless cases being filed without evidence?
Recalling the formation of Telangana as a separate state under the visionary leadership of Sonia Gandhi, he accused the BRS of having ruled the state like a specter, inflicting suffering for a decade. He said the BRS, through undemocratic and unconstitutional means, plunged a once-prosperous state into financial turmoil and has no moral right to criticize the Congress party. Telangana’s citizens are only now beginning to move past that dark chapter.
What is this secret pact?
The Minister alleged that BRS leaders’ endorsement of the ED’s unlawful cases against Congress leaders—clearly meant to demoralize the cadre—exposes a covert alliance with the BJP. He urged them to make this clandestine understanding public. He asserted that under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, the Congress is committed to preserving democracy and the spirit of the Constitution. In this context, he argued, Rahul Gandhi is under no obligation to respond to the BJP’s unconstitutional and evidence-less cases. Moreover, Sridhar Babu said BRS leaders have neither the credibility nor the authority to speak about Rahul Gandhi. He suggested that BRS leaders’ criticisms stem from their inability to accept the growing popularity of the people-centric governance under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
Are they unaware of basic democratic norms?
Sridhar Babu expressed concern that BRS leaders, despite ruling for a decade, seem unaware that decision-making in national parties rests with central leadership. He mocked them for having often clashed with the central government during their tenure, disregarding the federal responsibility of harmonizing with the Centre for the state’s benefit. He questioned the outrage over CM Revanth Reddy visiting New Delhi, asking what’s wrong with a Chief Minister engaging with the Prime Minister and Union Ministers for the state’s development.
He reminded them that it is due to such proactive engagement that progress has been made on critical projects like the elevated corridor from Secunderabad to Shamirpet, the Coach Factory in Kazipet, and the NIMZ in Zaheerabad.
Who is paying interest on your debts?
The Minister criticized the BRS for attacking the Congress while the current government is working to stabilize the state’s derailed finances by paying interest on debts accrued during BRS rule. He clarified that the Congress is steadily fulfilling every electoral promise, including: Farmer loan waivers, Rythu Bharosa, LPG cylinders for Rs. 500, Free bus travel for women under the Mahalakshmi Scheme, 200 units of free electricity, Rajiv Aarogyasri, Rajiv Yuva Vikasam, Indiramma housing. He questioned whether the BRS has failed to notice these initiatives.
Should a leader be removed just because you dislike him?
He condemned BRS leaders for targeting CM Revanth Reddy, who is tirelessly working to make Telangana the leading state in welfare and development. He asserted that it is not the approval of BRS leaders or their cadre that matters, but the confidence of the people of Telangana. He reminded them that it was public dissatisfaction with the BRS that led to Congress being given an opportunity. Advising them to accept their role in the opposition, he urged BRS to act as a responsible stakeholder in the state’s progress rather than clinging to past power.

ఆ కనీస అవగాహన లేదా..?
జాతీయ పార్టీలో నిర్ణయాలన్నీ అధినాయకత్వమే తీసుకుంటుందనే కనీస అవగాహన పదేళ్ల పాటు అధికారంలో ఉన్న బీఆర్ఎస్ నాయకులకు లేకపోవడం దురదృష్టకరమన్నారు. సమాఖ్య వ్యవస్థలో కేంద్రంతో సమన్వయం చేసుకోవాల్సిన బాధ్యత రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వంపై ఉంటుందనే విషయం, అధికారంలో ఉన్నప్పుడు రాష్ట్ర ప్రయోజనాలు పట్టకుండా కేంద్రంతో తరచూ తగువు పెట్టుకున్న మీకెలా తెలుస్తుందని ఎద్దేవా చేశారు.
రాష్ట్రం కోసం ఒక ముఖ్యమంత్రి ఢిల్లీకి వెళ్లి ప్రధాని, కేంద్ర మంత్రులను కలవడంలో తప్పేముందని, ఈ విషయంలో ఎందుకు రాద్ధాంతం చేస్తున్నారో సమాధానం చెప్పాలని డిమాండ్ చేశారు. ఆయన తరచూ ఢిల్లీకి వెళ్లడం వల్లే సికింద్రాబాద్ నుంచి శామీర్ పేట్ వరకు నిర్మించతలపెట్టిన ఎలివేటెడ్ కారిడార్, కాజీపేట్ లో కోచ్ ఫ్యాక్టరీ, జహీరాబాద్ నిమ్జ్ విషయంలో కదలికొచ్చిందనే విషయాన్ని మరువొద్దన్నారు.
మీ అప్పులకు వడ్డీ కడుతుందేవరూ…?
మీరు తెచ్చిన అప్పులకు వడ్డీలు కడుతూ… గాడి తప్పిన రాష్ట్ర ఆర్థిక వ్యవస్థను సరిదిద్దుతున్న మాపై బీఆర్ఎస్ నాయకులు విమర్శలు చేయడం సమంజసం కాదన్నారు. ఎన్నికల ముందు ఇచ్చిన ప్రతి హామీని దశలవారీగా నెరవేర్చేందుకు కృషి చేస్తున్నామని స్పష్టం చేశారు. రుణ మాఫీ, రైతు భరోసా, మహాలక్ష్మి పథకం మహిళలకు ఆర్టీసీ బస్సుల్లో ఉచిత ప్రయాణం, రూ.500కే సిలిండర్, 200 యూనిట్ల వరకు ఉచిత విద్యుత్, సన్న బియ్యం, రాజీవ్ ఆరోగ్య శ్రీ, రాజీవ్ యువ వికాసం, ఇందిరమ్మ ఇళ్లు లాంటి పథకాలు మీ కంటికి కనిపించడం లేదా…? అని ప్రశ్నించారు.
మీకు నచ్చకపోతే తొలగించాలా…?
ఓవైపు సంక్షేమం… మరోవైపు అభివృద్ధిలో తెలంగాణను దేశంలోనే నంబర్ వన్ గా నిలిపేందుకు అహర్నిశలు కృషి చేస్తున్న సీఎం రేవంత్ రెడ్డిని బీఆర్ఎస్ నాయకులు విమర్శించడం సరికాదన్నారు. ఆయన నచ్చాల్సింది తెలంగాణ ప్రజలకు… మీకు, మీ కేడర్ కు కాదన్నారు. మీరు నచ్చకే కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీకి ప్రజలు అవకాశమిచ్చారనే విషయాన్ని మరువొద్దన్నారు. ఇప్పటికీ మీరే అధికారంలో ఉన్నట్లుగా ప్రవర్తించడం మీకే మంచిది కాదని హితవు పలికారు. ఒక ప్రధాన ప్రతిపక్షంగా రాష్ట్రాభివృద్ధిలో భాగస్వామ్యం కావాలని కోరారు.
