Congress Replacing Symbols, Not Fulfilling Promises: BRS Leader MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha Slams Government

Hyderabad: BRS MLC K. Kavitha has strongly condemned the Telangana Congress government’s unilateral decision to replace the historic Telangana Talli statue, terming it an affront to the people’s emotions and the legacy of the Telangana movement. In a symbolic protest, MLC Kavitha performed Palaabhishekam and Panchamrutam Abhishekam rituals at the original Telangana Talli statue at Telangana Bhavan, reaffirming its place as the soul of the state’s identity.

MLC Kavitha of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) strongly condemned the Congress-led Telangana government’s decision to replace the iconic Telangana Talli statue. Speaking to the media, BRS Leader K.Kavitha emphasized that the Telangana Talli statue represents the soul of the Telangana movement and holds deep emotional value for the people.

“This statue has been the symbol of our struggle, sacrifices, and identity for decades. It cannot simply be replaced at the whim of a government order. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who has no role in the Telangana movement and has historically supported a united Andhra Pradesh, cannot arbitrarily replace this revered icon with his vision. This decision is not just an affront to the BRS but to the sentiments of 4 crore people of Telangana,” MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha asserted.

She questioned the Congress government’s secrecy surrounding the unveiling of the new statue, which was introduced without public discussion or consent. “If the Congress truly respects the sentiments of Telangana’s 4 crore people, why was this decision taken without public discourse? What was the fear in discussing this with the people?” BRS Leader MLC Kavitha questioned.

Former Member of Parliament Kalvakuntla Kavitha also slammed the timing of the unveiling, coinciding with Sonia Gandhi’s birthday. “If CM Revanth Reddy wanted to impress the Gandhis, there are countless ways to do so. Sacrificing Telangana’s identity is not one of them. History is not rewritten by replacing symbols; it is preserved by respecting the sentiments of its people,” the daughter of BRS Supremo added.

MLC Kavitha emphasized that the new statue fails to represent Telangana’s rich culture and heritage. “The original Telangana Talli stood as our idol during the fight for statehood. The Congress government has disrespected this emotional bond,” she said.

Kavitha warned the Congress that the people of Telangana will not take this insult lightly. “The Congress has played with the sacrifices of those who fought for Telangana. Reiterating BRS’s commitment, MLC K. Kavitha vowed, “As BRS returns to power, we will bring back the original Telangana Talli statue. It represents our culture, heritage, and the spirit of Telangana. The new statue, which the Congress claims is a common woman of Telangana, has no connection to our roots and sentiment.”

BRS leader MLC Kavitha also highlighted Congress’s hypocrisy, pointing out its harsh treatment of protesting ASHA workers while claiming to represent the common woman through the new statue. She recalled how KCR, as CM, had invited ASHA workers to Pragathi Bhavan to address their grievances, contrasting this with Congress’s indifference.

MLC Kavitha said, “The Congress government has failed to fulfill its promises and is now silencing voices instead of addressing genuine issues. Telangana will not tolerate this betrayal.” She concluded by calling on the people of Telangana to reject the Congress’s attempts to rewrite history and pledged BRS’s dedication to preserving the state’s true identity.

In a bold and symbolic move, BRS MLC Kavitha vehemently opposed the Telangana Congress government’s contentious decision to replace the iconic Telangana Talli statue. While upholding her commitment to preserving the cultural pride of Telangana, BRS Leader MLC Kavitha performed Palaabhishekam and Panchamrutam Abhishekam rituals at the Telangana Talli statue located at Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad.
