बड़ी बात- भारतीय न्यायिक व्यवस्था में महिला जजों की संख्या बढ़ाई जाये: तेलंगाना हाईकोर्ट के जज नंदा

हैदराबाद : डॉ बीआर अंबेडकर ओपन यूनिवर्सिटी के इतिहास विभाग के तत्वावधान में ‘आजादी का अमृता महोत्सव’ और विश्वविद्यालय की 40वीं वर्षगांठ को चिह्नित करने के लिए ‘Women in Nation Building: Pre and Post Independent India’ (राष्ट्र निर्माण में महिलाएं: स्वतंत्र भारत से पहले और बादमें) विषय पर एक राष्ट्रीय संगोष्ठी का आयोजन किया गया।

इस कार्यक्रम में मुख्य अतिथि श्रीमती गीतांजलि मनराल (एफडब्ल्यूओ) ने भाग लिया। अपने भाषण में उन्होंने भारतीय सेना की शीर्ष सेवाओं और युद्ध-विधवाओं के सामने आने वाली चुनौतियों के बारे में बात की। उन्होंने समझाया कि कहा कि कई लोगों के बलिदान से भारत आजाद हुआ है।

कार्यक्रम के अध्यक्ष विश्वविद्यालय के कुलपति आचार्य के सीताराम राव ने कार्यक्रम के महत्व, स्वतंत्रता से पहले और बाद में भारत में महिलाओं की भूमिका, उनके बलिदान और परिवार के प्रबंधन में महिलाओं की महान भूमिका के बारे में विचार व्यक्त किये।

तेलंगाना विधान परिषद की सदस्य सुश्री सुरभि वाणीदेवी ने आजादी से पहले महिलाओं की स्थिति और आजादी के 75 साल बाद भारत में महिलाओं की स्थिति के बारे में अपने विचार व्यक्त किये। रजिस्ट्रार डॉ एवीएन रेड्डी ने विशिष्ट अतिथि के रूप में संबोधित किया।

कार्यक्रम की समापन समारोह में तेलंगाना उच्च न्यायालय के न्यायाधीश न्यायमूर्ति एस नंदा मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में भाग लिया। न्यायमूर्ति नंदा ने कहा कि भारतीय न्यायिक प्रणाली में अधिक महिला न्यायाधीशों की आवश्यकता है। उन्होंने बताया कि भारतीय न्यायिक प्रणाली को महिला न्यायाधीशों की सख्त जरूरत है। न्यायमूर्ति नंदा ने कहा कि गुणवत्तापूर्ण न्याय तभी मिलेगा जब भारतीय न्याय व्यवस्था में महिला न्यायाधीशों की संख्या अधिक होगी। उन्होंने उल्लेख किया कि आने वाले दिनों में सरकारों को भारतीय न्यायपालिका में न्यायाधीशों के रूप में महिलाओं का 50 फीसदी प्रतिनिधित्व प्रदान करने के बारे में सोचना चाहिए।

హైదరాబాద్ : డా. బి.ఆర్. అంబేద్కర్ సార్వత్రిక విశ్వవిద్యాలయం చరిత్ర విభాగం ఆధ్వర్యంలో ‘అజాదికా అమృత మహోత్సవ్’ మరియు విశ్వవిద్యాలయ 40వ వార్షికోత్సవాన్ని పురస్కరించుకుని నిర్వహించిన ‘విమెన్ ఇన్ నేషన్ బిల్డింగ్: ప్రీ అండ్ పోస్ట్ ఇండిపెండెంట్ ఇండియా’ అనే అంశంపై నేషనల్ సింపోజియం నిర్వహించారు. ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో ముఖ్య అతిథిగా శ్రీమతి. గీతాంజలి మన్రల్, ఎఫ్‌డబ్ల్యుఓ, పాల్గొన్నారు. ఆమె ప్రసంగంలో, భారత సైన్యం యొక్క అత్యున్నత సేవలు మరియు యుద్ధ-వితంతువులు ఎదుర్కొనే సవాళ్ల గురించి మాట్లాడారు. ఎందరో మహనీయుల త్యాగాల ఫలితమే నేటి స్వాతంత్ర్య భారత దేశం అని వివరించారు. కార్యక్రమానికి అధ్యక్షత వహించిన విశ్వవిద్యాలయ ఉపకులపతి ఆచార్య కె. సీతారామరావు, కార్యక్రమం ప్రాముఖ్యత గురించి, స్వాతంత్ర్యానికి ముందు మరియు అనంతరం భారతదేశంలో మహిళల పాత్ర, వారి త్యాగాలను, కుటుంభ నిర్వహణలో మహిళల గొప్ప తనాన్ని వివరించారు. తెలంగాణ శాసన మండలి సభ్యురాలు, శ్రీమతి సురభి వాణిదేవి గారు మాట్లాడుతూ స్వాతంత్ర్యానికి ముందు మహిళల స్థితిగతులు, 75 సంవత్సరాల స్వాతంత్ర్య భారతంలో మహిళల పరిస్థితులని వివరించారు. రిజిస్ట్రార్‌ డా. ఎ. వి ఎన్ రెడ్డి, గౌరవ అతిథులుగా హాజరై మాట్లాడారు.

రెండు సెషన్లలో కార్యక్రమ చర్చలు జరిగాయి. ప్యానెల్-I ‘విమెన్ ఇన్ నేషన్ బిల్డింగ్: ప్రీ ఇండిపెండెంట్ ఇండియా’ అనే విస్తృత అంశాలపై ప్రొ. ఇ. సుధా రాణి ప్రధాన చర్చాగోష్టి నిర్వహించగా ఇందులో మద్రాస్ ఇన్‌స్టిట్యూట్ ఆఫ్ డెవలప్‌మెంట్ స్టడీస్, (చెన్నైకి) చెందిన ప్రొఫెసర్ ఎస్. ఆనంది, ‘లింగ బేధం మరియు జాతీయవాదం యొక్క విమర్శ: ద్రావిడ ఉద్యమం నుండి దృక్కోణాలు’ అనే అంశంపై ప్రసంగించారు; ప్రొఫెసర్ కె సునీతా రాణి, సెంటర్ ఫర్ ఉమెన్స్ స్టడీస్, యూనివర్శిటీ ఆఫ్ హైదరాబాద్, ‘ఎన్విజనింగ్ ది నేషన్: ఉమెన్స్ నేరేటివ్స్ ఫ్రమ్ ప్రీ-ఇండిపెండెన్స్ ఇండియా’ అనే అంశంపై ప్రసంగించారు; మరియు తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వ రాష్ట్ర ఆర్కైవ్స్ డైరెక్టర్ డాక్టర్ జరీనా పర్వీన్ “జాతీయ ఉద్యమంలో ముస్లిం మహిళల భాగస్వామ్యం” అనే అంశంపై ప్రసంగించారు.

‘ఉమెన్ ఇన్ నేషన్ బిల్డింగ్-ఇండిపెండెంట్ ఇండియా’ పై ప్యానెల్ -2 లో జూపాక సుభద్ర నిర్వహించగా గుంటూరులోని ఆచార్య నాగార్జున విశ్వవిద్యాలయం చరిత్ర విభాగం ప్రొఫెసర్ చల్లపల్లి స్వరూపా రాణి ‘భారతదేశంలో స్వాతంత్ర్య పూర్వ కాలంలో- సామాజిక-సాంస్కృతిక రంగం, దేశ నిర్మాణంలో మహిళల పాత్ర’ అనే అంశంపై ప్రసంగించారు. ముంబైలోని కెజె సోమియా కాలేజ్ ఆఫ్ కామర్స్ రాజనీతి శాస్త్ర విభాగం అధిపతి డాక్టర్ అభినయ కాంబ్లే కూడా కార్యక్రమంలో మాట్లాడారు. గుజరాత్ సెంట్రల్ యూనివర్శిటీ ఆర్థిక శాస్త్ర విభాగం డాక్టర్ సరళ ’75 సంవత్సరాల స్వాతంత్ర్యంలో ప్రభుత్వ విధానం మరియు మహిళా సాధికారత’ అనే అంశంపై మాట్లాడారు

కార్యక్రమ ముగింపు సమావేశానికి తెలంగాణ హైకోర్టు న్యాయమూర్తి జస్టిస్ ఎస్. నంద ముఖ్య అతిథిగా హాజరయ్యారు. భారత న్యాయ వ్యవస్థలో ఎక్కువ మంది మహిళా న్యాయమూర్తుల అవసరం ఉందని జస్టిస్ నందా అభిప్రాయపడ్డారు. భారత న్యాయ వ్యవస్థకు మహిళా న్యాయమూర్తుల అవసరం చాలా ఉందని ఆమె వివరించారు. భారత న్యాయ వ్యవస్థలో ఎక్కువ మంది మహిళా న్యాయమూర్తులు ఉన్నప్పుడే నాణ్యమైన న్యాయం అందుతుందని జస్టిస్ నందా పేర్కొన్నారు. రాబోయే రోజుల్లో భారత న్యాయవ్యవస్థలో న్యాయమూర్తులుగా మహిళలకు 50% ప్రాతినిధ్యం కల్పించే దిశగా ప్రభుత్వాలు ఆలోచించాలని ఆమె పేర్కొన్నారు.

NEED OF MORE WOMEN JUDGES IN INDIAN JUDICIAL SYSTEM TELANGANA HIGH COURT JUDGE JUSTICE NANDA

Hyderabad : Dr BR Ambedkar Open University Department of History organized a National Symposium on ‘Women in Nation Building: Pre and Post Independent India’ to commemorate ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ and 40th anniversary of Dr BRAOU.

Chief Guest of the Inaugural session of the Symposium, Smt. Geethanjali Manral, Chairperson, FWO, Telangana and Andhra Sub Area, in her address, spoke about the supreme services of the Indian Army and the challenges that confront the war-widows. Prof K. Seetharama Rao, Vice-Chancellor, BRAOU who presided over the program, spoke about the significance of the symposium concept to highlight the role of women in pre and post-independent India.

Smt. Surabhi Vani Devi, Member of Telangana Legislative Council, Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Dr. BRAOU; Dr. AVRN Reddy, Registrar, Dr. BRAOU attended as Guests of Honor spoke on the occasion. Prof. Uma Chakravarthy, Former head department of history, Delhi University, Feminist Historian and Film Maker, was the Keynote speaker of the symposium. In her Address, she spoke about women participation in independence movement. She has mentioned popular women freedom fighters names and explained their contribution for the independence movement.

Prof.E.Sudha Rani, Director (Academic) and Symposium Director explained the theme of the Symposium. She stated that the main purpose of Symposium is to unearth women’s narratives in Indian nationalist struggle, gendering Indian nationalism and public policies in 75 years of Indian independence.

The Symposium deliberations were conducted in two sessions. Panel-I was on the broad theme of “Women in Nation Building: Pre Independent India” which were covered by three Resource Persons. Prof. E. Sudha Rani, Director of Symposium was the lead Discussant for the panel. Prof. S. Anandi of Madras Institute of Development Studies, Chennai spoke on the topic “Gender and the Critique of Nationalism: Perspectives from the Dravidian Movement”; Prof. K. Suneetha Rani, Centre for Women’s Studies, University of Hyderabad spoke on the topic “Envisioning the Nation: Women’s Narratives from Pre-independence India”; and Dr. Zareena Parveen, Director, State Archives, Govt. of Telangana spoke on the topic “Muslim Women’s Participation in National Movement”.

Panel- 2 on ‘Women in Nation Building-Post Independent India’, was covered by three Resource Persons, and Jupaka Subadra was the Lead Discussant of the panel. In this panel, Prof. Challapalli Swaroopa Rani, Department of History, Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur spoke on the Topic “Role of Women in Nation Building during Pre-Independence Period in India- Socio-Cultural Spheres”. Dr. Abhinaya Kamble, Head, Department of Political Science, K.J. Somiah College, Mumbai also Spoke on the symposium. Dr. Sarala, Department of Economics, Central University of Gujarat spoke on the Topic ‘Public Policy and Women Empowerment in 75 years of Independence’.

In the valedictory session, Justice S Nanda, Judge, High Court of Telangana attended as Chief Guest. Justice Nanda pointed out that “Need of more women judges in Indian Judicial System”. She has explained that women judges contribution and commitment to the Indian Judicial System. Justice Nanda also mentioned that the quality of justice will be delivered when more women judges are chaired in Indian judicial system. she also mentioned in coming days governments should think to give 50% representation for women as judges in Indian Judicial System. The valedictory address was given by Dr Sivakami, former IAS and feminist activist Chennai. Dr AVRN Reddy, Registrar, Dr. BRAOU were Guest of Honor for the valedictory session. Prof E Sudha Rani, Symposium Director, presented the symposium deliberations and detailed report.

All the Directors, Deans, Heads of the branches, research scholars and other universities students, Teaching and Non-teaching staff, Representatives of various services association also participated.
