Hyderabad: Telangana state BJP President N Ramchander Rao today accused Revanth Reddy government of compromising with the interest of Telangana on the issue of increasing Allmatti Dam height. Addressing a press conference at state party office here, Rao said Karnataka government is contemplating to increase the height of Allmatti Dam from 519 to 524 mts which would be detrimental to Telangana farmers.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy often visits Delhi and meet Sonia Gandhi, Prinka Vadra and Rahul Gandhi. But he never raised the issue of Allmatti dam though both states are ruled by Congress party, he lamanted. Inspite of a stay by the Supreme Court not to take any construction works or increase the height of Allmatti Dam, the Karnataka government is busy in land acquisition near Dam surroundings with an intention to increase the storage capacity of Allmatti, he alleged and warned that if the Dam height would be raised it would severely impact farmers in south Telangana besides combined Mahaboobnagar, Nalgonda and RangaReddy districts would turn into a desert.
BJP would oppose any attempt of raise the Almatti dam height, Rao said and questioned why Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, whose party is also in power in Karnataka, has not taken proactive steps to protect Telangana’s rights on Krishna River water and prevent harm to farmers.

The state BJP chief alleged that Mahaboobnagar , native district the C M, will also face further water problems and criticized him for his silence on an issue that threatens to cut off water to the region. He further alleged that the current Telangana government’s focus was on “contracts and commissions” rather than on protecting the state’s share of Krishna River water.
The BJP President pointed out that the previous BRS government led by KCR had signed off on a limited share of 299 TMC of Krishna water for Telangana, which he claimed was a damage to the state. He argued that the BRS has no moral right to speak on this issue and the current Congress government was also acting similarly.
Reacting on the functioning of state Congress government Rao in a sarcastic way said Revanth Reddy government was turned as “ government for the contractors, government by the contractors and government for commissions. Rao urged the Telangana government to immediately negotiate with the Karnataka government to prevent harm to Telangana’s farmers

హైదరాబాద్ : కర్ణాటక ప్రభుత్వం ఆల్మట్టి డ్యామ్ ఎత్తును 519 మీటర్ల నుంచి 524 మీటర్లకు పెంచాలనుకోవడం దక్షిణ తెలంగాణ రైతులకు తీవ్ర నష్టం కలిగిస్తుందని బిజెపి తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్ర అధ్యక్షుడు ఎన్.రాంచందర్ రావు అన్నారు. సుప్రీంకోర్టు స్టే ఉన్నప్పటికీ కర్ణాటక ప్రభుత్వం ల్యాండ్ అక్విజిషన్ చేపట్టడం, భవిష్యత్తులో డ్యామ్ ఎత్తును పెంచే ప్రయత్నాలు చేయడం అన్యాయమని పేర్కొన్నారు.
కర్ణాటకలో ఉన్నది కూడా కాంగ్రెస్ ప్రభుత్వమే అయినప్పటికీ.. కృష్ణా జలాల్లో తెలంగాణ నీటి హక్కులను రక్షించడానికి, రైతులకు అన్యాయం జరకుండా సీఎం రేవంత్ రెడ్డి ఎందుకు చొరవ చూపడం లేదంటూ ప్రశ్నించారు. తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వం ఇప్పటికైనా రాష్ట్రాన్ని రక్షించేలా చర్యలు తీసుకోవాలని.. ఆల్మట్టి డ్యామ్ ఎత్తు పెంపును ఆపకపోతే, దక్షిణ తెలంగాణ ఎడారిగా మారే ప్రమాదం ఉందని రాంచందర్ ఆగ్రహం వ్యక్తం చేశారు. కృష్ణానదిపై ఆల్మట్టి డ్యామ్ కర్ణాటక రాష్ట్రంలో ఉంది. ఆల్మట్టి ఎత్తును 519 మీటర్ల నుంచి 524 మీటర్లకు పెంచాలనే కర్ణాటక ప్రభుత్వం తీసుకున్న నిర్ణయాన్ని బిజెపి వ్యతిరేకిస్తోంది.
కర్ణాటక ప్రభుత్వం ఆల్మట్టి ఎత్తును పెంచితే దక్షిణ తెలంగాణ ఎడారిగా మారే ప్రమాదముంది. ఉమ్మడి పాలమూరు, నల్లగొండ, రంగారెడ్డి జిల్లాల రైతులకు తీవ్ర నష్టం కలుగుతుంది. జూరాల, నాగార్జునసాగర్, పాలమూరు-రంగారెడ్డి, నెట్టెంపాడు, కల్వకుర్తి వంటి ప్రాజెక్టులకు తీవ్ర నష్టం వాటిల్లుతుంది. హైడల్ పవర్ కోసం, రైతులకు సాగు నీరు కోసం కృష్ణానదిపై ఆధారపడ్డాం. కృష్ణా నదిపై ఆల్మట్టి డ్యామ్ ఎత్తు పెంపుతో రైతులకు నష్టం జరుగుతుందనే కారణంతోనే గతంలో సుప్రీంకోర్టు దీనిపై స్టే ఇచ్చింది.
సుప్రీంకోర్టు స్టే ఉన్నప్పటికీ, ఆల్మట్టి ఎత్తు పెంచేందుకు కర్ణాటక ప్రభుత్వం సిద్ధమవ్వడం అన్యాయం. 2013లో ఉమ్మడి ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ రాష్ట్రంలో కర్ణాటకలో ఉన్న ప్రభుత్వం ఆల్మట్టి ఎత్తు 519 నుంచి 524 మీటర్లకు పెంచాలని ప్రయత్నించింది.
తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్రం ఏర్పడిన తర్వాత, కేసీఆర్ ప్రభుత్వం అధికారంలోకి వచ్చాక, తెలంగాణకు కృష్ణా జలాల వాటా కేవలం 299 TMC మాత్రమే సరిపోతుందని కేసీఆర్ సంతకం చేశారు. దీని కారణంగా నదీజలాల వాటాలో తెలంగాణకు నష్టం ఏర్పడింది.
గతంలో బీఆర్ఎస్ ప్రభుత్వం నీటివాటా విషయంలో తెలంగాణకు నష్టం చేసింది. ఇప్పుడు కాంగ్రెస్ కూడా అదే విధంగా వ్యవహరిస్తోంది. అందుకే బీఆర్ఎస్ కు ఈ విషయంలో మాట్లాడే నైతిక అర్హత కోల్పోయింది. ఆల్మట్టి డ్యామ్ ఎత్తు పెంపు అంశంపై పిటిషన్ సుప్రీంకోర్టులో ఉన్నప్పటికీ, కర్ణాటక ప్రభుత్వం ల్యాండ్ అక్విజిషన్ చేపట్టింది. భవిష్యత్తులో డ్యామ్ ఎత్తును పెంచే ప్రయత్నంలో ఇది ఒక ముందస్తు చర్య.
సీఎం రేవంత్ రెడ్డి ప్రతిసారీ ఢిల్లీ వెళ్తుంటారు. అదేవిధంగా కర్ణాటకలో ఉన్నది కూడా కాంగ్రెస్ ప్రభుత్వమే. ఇప్పుడు ఆల్మట్టి ఎత్తు పెంపు నిర్ణయం తీసుకున్న కర్ణాటక ప్రభుత్వం తెలంగాణకు చేస్తున్న ద్రోహాన్ని సోనియాగాంధీ, రాహుల్ గాంధీ, ప్రియాంక గాంధీతో మాట్లాడి తెలంగాణ నీటి హక్కులను కాపాడేందుకు, రైతులకు అన్యాయం జరగకుండా ఎందుకు చొరవ చూపడం లేదు? ఎందుకు మాట్లాడటం లేదు?
కర్ణాటక, తెలంగాణలో ఉన్నది రెండు ప్రభుత్వాలు, పార్టీలు మీవే కదా. మరి తెలంగాణ రైతులకు అన్యాయం జరగకుండా ఎందుకు చొరవ చూపడం లేదు? రేవంత్ రెడ్డికి సోనియా గాంధీ ఆస్కార్ అవార్డు ఇచ్చిందని చెప్పారు కదా. మరి అంత పలుకుబడి, ప్రాధాన్యత, చొరవతో రాష్ట్ర ప్రయోజనాల గురించి ఎందుకు నోరుమెదపడం లేదు? పాలమూరు బిడ్డ అని చెప్పుకునే సీఎం రేవంత్ రెడ్డి, పాలమూరుకు నీరు ఆగిపోతే ఎందుకు నోరు మూసుకుంటున్నారు?
తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వం ఎలా మారిందంటే- “Government for the Contractor, Government by the Contracts, and Government for Commissions” లాగా మారింది. కాంగ్రెస్ ప్రభుత్వం ధ్యాస కాంట్రాక్టులు, కమీషన్లపైనే ఉంది. కానీ తెలంగాణలో కృష్ణా జలాల వాటాను రక్షించడంపై లేదు. ఆల్మట్టి డ్యామ్ ఎత్తు పెంపు చర్యలు సుప్రీంకోర్టులో కేసు ఉన్న సందర్భంలో చేయకూడదని సీడబ్ల్యూసీ కూడా చెప్పింది.
ఇప్పటికైనా తెలంగాణ రైతులకు నష్టం కలగకుండా కర్ణాటక ప్రభుత్వంతో చర్చలు జరపాలి. కేవలం కాంట్రాక్టర్ల లాభం కోసం, కమీషన్లపై ధ్యాసతో కృష్ణా నీటిని కర్ణాటకకు అప్పగించడం తెలంగాణ రైతులకు ద్రోహం చేయడమే. తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వం ఇప్పటికైనా రాష్ట్రాన్ని రక్షించేలా చర్యలు తీసుకోవాలి. ఆల్మట్టి ఎత్తు పెంపును ఆపకపోతే దక్షిణ తెలంగాణ ఎడారిగా మారే ప్రమాదం ఉంది.
