Hyderabad : Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI), a Defence Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Defence, takes pride in being a trusted partner of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in India’s journey towards indigenous aerospace propulsion. Through its capabilities in advanced metallurgy and indigenous materials technology, MIDHANI has contributed to the indigenisation of critical alloys, including single-crystal superalloys and other high-temperature materials, for various aero-engine programmes.
The delivery of the 2,000th aero-engine at HAL’s Koraput Division marks an important milestone in India’s expanding indigenous aero-engine ecosystem. The occasion assumes special significance for MIDHANI, reflecting the role of strategic materials and advanced alloys in building sovereign capability across critical aerospace applications. It was particularly encouraging for MIDHANI to receive appreciation for its contribution to various aero-engine programmes from Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh, Chief Minister of Odisha Shri Mohan Charan Majhi and CMD, HAL Ravi K. The recognition reinforces the importance of indigenous materials capability as a critical foundation for achieving true self-reliance in aerospace propulsion.
