తెలంగాణలో బంజారా సమాజం కోసం ఎలాంటి కార్యక్రమాలు చేపట్టాలని ఆరా తీసిన తెలంగాణ జాగృతి అధ్యక్షురాలు
హైదరాబాద్ : రిటైర్డ్ అడిషనల్ డీజీ డీటీ నాయక్ సహా పలువురు బంజారా ప్రముఖులతో తెలంగాణ జాగృతి అధ్యక్షురాలు కల్వకుంట్ల కవిత సోమవారం భేటీ అయ్యారు. హైదరాబాద్ లోని డీటీ నాయక్ నివాసానికి వెళ్లి కవిత మర్యాదపూర్వకంగా ఆయనతో పాటు పలువురు బంజారా ప్రముఖులతో సమావేశమయ్యారు.
ఈనెల 25న కొత్త రాజకీయ పార్టీ ఏర్పాటు చేయబోతున్న నేపథ్యంలో బంజారా సమాజం కోసం ఏం చేయాలనే అంశాలపై వారితో కవిత చర్చించారు. ఉమ్మడి ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ చరిత్రలోనే బంజారాలకు మంత్రివర్గంలో ప్రాతినిథ్యం లేకపోవడం ఇదే మొదటిసారి అని తాము ఏర్పాటు చేయబోయే పార్టీలకు బంజారా సమాజానికి సముచిత అవకాశాలు ఇస్తామని కవిత హామీ ఇచ్చారు. బంజారా ప్రముఖులు తాము ఏర్పాటు చేయబోయే రాజకీయ పార్టీకి సలహాలు, సూచనలు అందజేయాలని కోరారు. ప్రత్యక్ష రాజకీయాల్లో ప్రవేశించాలనుకునే వారికి తాము ఏర్పాటు చేయబోయే పార్టీలోకి స్వాగతం పలుకుతున్నామని తెలిపారు

Hyderabad: Kalvakuntla Kavitha, President of Telangana Jagruti, met retired Additional DGP D. T. Naik at his residence in Hyderabad today. The meeting was attended by several prominent members of the Banjara community.
The interaction comes as part of preparations for the launch of a new political party scheduled for the 25th of this month. During the meeting, discussions were held on key issues faced by the Banjara community and the measures required to ensure their welfare and empowerment.
Kavitha highlighted that in the history of undivided Andhra Pradesh, the Banjara community consistently received cabinet representation. She criticized the current Indian National Congress government in Telangana for failing to provide similar representation.
She assured that the proposed new party would prioritize the Banjara community by ensuring due respect, representation, and political opportunities. Kavitha also invited intellectuals and leaders from the community to contribute their suggestions in shaping the party’s policies. She extended a special invitation to Banjara youth and aspiring leaders to actively participate in the political process through the new party.
The meeting was attended by several prominent leaders including former Tribal Welfare Commissioner and retired IRS officer Laxman Naik, All India Banjara Seva Sangh State President Mohan Singh Naik, Deputy Commissioner of Commercial Taxes Bheemla Naik, Baski Naik, General Secretary Hari Naik, Tribal Electricity Board Chairman Narayana, Media Secretary Bheemudu Naik, Electricity DEE Balaji Naik, Working President L. Roop Singh Naik, and others.
Kavitha visits Ailing former Osmania University Professor, demands release of pending retirement benefits
Earlier in the day, Kavitha visited retired Osmania University Professor Mohammad Ansari, who is undergoing treatment at a rehabilitation center in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. She enquired about his health condition with family members and consulted doctors regarding his treatment and medical status.
Speaking on the occasion, Kavitha stated that Prof. Ansari dedicated his life to student welfare and played a significant role in exposing irregularities within the university system, both as a student and later as a professor. She noted his active participation in movements against government policies.
Kavitha expressed concern that despite retiring in 2023, Prof. Ansari has not yet received his retirement benefits. She pointed out that due to his deteriorating health, his family has been forced to rely on crowdfunding for medical expenses. She criticized the government for failing to provide financial assistance in such a critical situation.
She further stated that Prof. Ansari’s case reflects a broader issue, with nearly 143 professors still awaiting their retirement dues. She added that delays are also affecting several retired teachers and government employees across the state.
Kavitha demanded that the government take immediate steps to release all pending retirement benefits and extend necessary support to affected individuals.
