This is the highest ever ticket checking revenue registered by the zone in any financial year
Hyderabad: South Central Railway has achieved a major milestone in Ticket Checking by registering record revenue of Rs 223.60 Crores in the current financial year 2025-26. The zone surpassed the target of Rs. 221.08 Cr set by Railway Board for the current FY, achieving it 14 days before the year’s end. This is the highest ever revenue in ticket checking in any financial year, the previous best being Rs. 220.81 crores in 2023-24. The revenue was earned from the cases booked against irregular travel and unbooked luggage etc. During the year, the zone also generated record ticket checking revenue of Rs. 1.85 Cr in a single day on 18th October, 2025.
Ticket checking in Railways plays a vital role in curbing ticketless and irregular travel and acts as a deterrent against habitual defaulters, thereby contributing to increased ticket sales through booking windows. It also helps create awareness among the general public about the importance of having valid travel authority. Further, ticket checking also aids in guiding and educating passengers on the ease and comfort of travelling with valid tickets.
Apart from booking window, several digital initiatives for issuing of tickets have been introduced in the ticketing system to enhance passenger convenience and boost ticket sales. The digital initiatives include the Rail One App, ATVMs near booking counters, and the display of QR codes at stations. These initiatives, combined with the relentless efforts of ticket checking staff, have significantly improved ticket sales leading to increased passenger revenue.
Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, SCR congratulated the entire Commercial wing along with officers and staff for crossing Rs 223 Crore revenue in ticket checking for the first time in any financial year. He stated that Ticket checking is a solid mechanism which helps in curtailing irregular travel and also helps in building confidence among the genuine rail passengers.

హైదరాబాద్ : దక్షిణ మధ్య రైల్వే ప్రస్తుత 2025-26 ఆర్థిక సంవత్సరంలో టికెట్ తనిఖీ ప్రక్రియలో రూ. 223.60 కోట్ల రికార్డు ఆదాయాన్ని నమోదు చేసి ఒక ప్రధాన మైలురాయిని సాధించింది. ప్రస్తుత ఆర్థిక సంవత్సరానికి రైల్వే బోర్డు నిర్దేశించిన రూ. 221.08 కోట్ల లక్ష్యాన్ని, సంవత్సరం ముగియడానికి 14 రోజుల ముందే ఈ జోన్ అధిగమించింది. ఏ ఆర్థిక సంవత్సరంలోనైనా టికెట్ తనిఖీ ద్వారా వచ్చిన అత్యధిక ఆదాయం ఇదే. ఇంతకు ముందు 2023-24 సంవత్సరం లో రూ. 220.81 కోట్ల ఆదాయం అత్యుత్తమంగా నమోదైంది. టికెట్ లేని ప్రయాణం, ముందుగా బుక్ చేయని లగేజీ మొదలైన వాటిపై నమోదైన కేసుల ద్వారా ఈ ఆదాయం ఆర్జించబడింది. ఈ జోన్ ప్రస్తుత సంవత్సరంలో, 2025 అక్టోబర్ 18 న ఒకే రోజులో టికెట్ తనిఖీ ద్వారా రూ. 1.85 కోట్ల రికార్డు ఆదాయాన్ని కూడా ఆర్జించింది.
రైల్వేలలో టిక్కెట్ల తనిఖీ అనేది, టిక్కెట్టు లేని మరియు సరైన ఆధారాలు లేకుండా చేసే ప్రయాణాలను అరికట్టడంలో కీలక పాత్ర పోషిస్తుంది. ఇది అలవాటుగా ప్రతినిత్యం టిక్కెట్లు లేకుండా ప్రయాణం చేసేవారిని నిరోదిస్తూ , బుకింగ్ విండోల ద్వారా టిక్కెట్ల అమ్మకాలు పెరగడానికి దోహదపడుతుంది. రైలు ప్రయాణంలో అధీకృత టిక్కెట్ లేదా ప్రయాణ పత్రం కలిగి ఉండటం యొక్క ప్రాముఖ్యత గురించి సాధారణ ప్రజలలో అవగాహన కల్పించడానికి కూడా ఇది సహాయపడుతుంది. అంతేకాకుండా టిక్కెట్ల తనిఖీ చెల్లుబాటు అయ్యే టిక్కెట్లతో ప్రయాణించడంలో ఉండే సౌలభ్యం మరియు సౌకర్యం గురించి ప్రయాణికులకు మార్గనిర్దేశం చేయడానికి మరియు అవగాహన కల్పించడానికి కూడా తోడ్పడుతుంది.
ప్రయాణీకుల సౌకర్యాన్ని మెరుగుపరచడానికి మరియు టిక్కెట్ల అమ్మకాలను పెంచడానికి, బుకింగ్ విండోతో పాటు, టిక్కెట్ల జారీ కోసం టిక్కెటింగ్ వ్యవస్థలో అనేక డిజిటల్ కార్యక్రమాలు ప్రవేశపెట్టబడ్డాయి. ఈ డిజిటల్ కార్యక్రమాలలో రైల్ వన్ యాప్, బుకింగ్ కౌంటర్ల దగ్గర ఏటీవీఎంలు మరియు స్టేషన్లలో క్యూఆర్ కోడ్ల ప్రదర్శన వంటివి ఉన్నాయి. ఈ కార్యక్రమాలు, టిక్కెట్లను తనిఖీ చేసే సిబ్బంది యొక్క అవిశ్రాంత కృషితో కలిసి, టిక్కెట్ల అమ్మకాలను గణనీయంగా మెరుగుపరిచి, తద్వారా ప్రయాణీకుల ఆదాయం పెరగడానికి దారితీశాయి.
ఈ సంధర్భంగా దక్షిణ మధ్య రైల్వే జనరల్ మేనేజర్ సంజయ్ కుమార్ శ్రీవాస్తవ గతంలో ఏ ఆర్థిక సంవత్సరంలోలైన మొదటిసారిగా టికెట్ తనిఖీలో రూ. 223 కోట్ల ఆదాయాన్ని దాటినందుకు మొత్తం వాణిజ్య విభాగాన్ని, అధికారులను, సిబ్బందిని అభినందించారు. టికెట్ తనిఖీ అనేది ఒక పటిష్టమైన యంత్రాంగమని, ఇది క్రమరహిత ప్రయాణాలను అరికట్టడంలో సహాయపడుతుందని, అలాగే నిజమైన రైలు ప్రయాణికులలో విశ్వాసాన్ని పెంపొందించడంలో కూడా తోడ్పడుతుందని ఆయన పేర్కొన్నారు.
