Hyderabad : Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU), Hyderabad, will sign a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Commonwealth of Learning (COL) to establish the Integrated Digital Education Academy (iDEA). The MoU will be formally signed on November 18, at 10:30 AM by Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani, Vice Chancellor, BRAOU, and Prof. Peter Scott, President and CEO of COL, in the presence of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Telangana, A. Revanth Reddy.

This historic partnership marks a major step in BRAOU’s journey toward becoming a leading Digital University. The iDEA will function as a state-of-the-art digital hub to enhance teaching, learning, and research. Its core initiatives include faculty development through micro-credentials in technology-enabled learning and AI, creation of an integrated Learning Management System blueprint, support for virtual labs, and the formation of a regional digital-learning consortium. Together, these efforts will expand access to quality education, empower educators and learners, and drive educational innovation in Telangana and beyond.

The collaboration is strengthened by the visit of Professor Peter Scott to BRAOU on November 17 and 18, 2025. Professor Scott is a globally respected leader in open and distance learning, with decades of expertise in advancing technology-enabled education.
The Commonwealth of Learning, established by the Commonwealth Heads of Government in 1987, is an intergovernmental organization committed to widening access to quality education through open learning and technology. Its mission aligns closely with global Sustainable Development Goals, particularly inclusive and equitable lifelong learning.
This MoU reinforces BRAOU’s commitment to digital transformation and social justice in education, reflecting the vision of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. With COL’s global expertise and support, BRAOU is poised to lead India’s digital education movement.

హైదరాబాద్ : ఇంటిగ్రేటెడ్ డిజిటల్ ఎడ్యుకేషన్ అకాడమీ (iDEA)ను స్థాపించడానికి కామన్వెల్త్ ఆఫ్ లెర్నింగ్ (COL)తో ఒక మైలురాయి అవగాహన ఒప్పందం (MoU)పై హైదరాబాద్లోని డాక్టర్ బి.ఆర్. అంబేద్కర్ ఓపెన్ యూనివర్సిటీ (BRAOU) సంతకం చేయనుంది. ఈ అవగాహన ఒప్పందంపై నవంబర్ 18, 2025న ఉదయం 10.30 గంటలకు BRAOU వైస్ ఛాన్సలర్ ప్రొఫెసర్ ఘంటా చక్రపాణి, కామన్వెల్త్ ఆఫ్ లెర్నింగ్ అధ్యక్షుడు, & CEO ప్రొఫెసర్ పీటర్ స్కాట్ అధికారికంగా తెలంగాణ ముఖ్యమంత్రి ఎ. రేవంత్ రెడ్డి సమక్షంలో సంతకం చేయనున్నారు.
ఈ చారిత్రాత్మక భాగస్వామ్యంతో BRAOU ప్రముఖ డిజిటల్ విశ్వవిద్యాలయంగా ఎదగడానికి ముందడుగు వేస్తోంది. బోధన, అభ్యాసం, పరిశోధనలను మెరుగుపరచడానికి iDEA అత్యాధునిక డిజిటల్ హబ్గా పనిచేస్తుంది. దీని ప్రధాన చొరవలలో టెక్నాలజీ-ఎనేబుల్డ్ లెర్నింగ్, కృతిమ మేథస్సులో మైక్రో-క్రెడెన్షియల్స్ ద్వారా ఫ్యాకల్టీ అభివృద్ధి, ఇంటిగ్రేటెడ్ లెర్నింగ్ మేనేజ్మెంట్ సిస్టమ్ బ్లూప్రింట్ను రూపొందించడం, వర్చువల్ ల్యాబ్లకు మద్దతు, ప్రాంతీయ డిజిటల్-లెర్నింగ్ కన్సార్టియం తదితరాలు ఏర్పాటు కానున్నాయి. ఈ ప్రయత్నాలతో నాణ్యమైన విద్యను అందుబాటులోకి విశ్వవిద్యాలయం తెస్తుంది. విద్యావేత్తలు, అభ్యాసకులను శక్తివంతం చేయనుంది. తెలంగాణలో విద్యా ఆవిష్కరణలకు మార్గదర్శిగా ఉంటుంది.
ప్రొఫెసర్ పీటర్ స్కాట్ నవంబర్ 18 న BRAOUని సందర్శిస్తారు. రౌండ్ టేబుల్ సమావేశంలో కీలకోపన్యాసం చేయనున్నారు. ఓపెన్ డిస్టెన్స్ లెర్నింగ్లో ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా సాంకేతికత ఆధారిత విద్యను అభివృద్ధి చేయడంలో దశాబ్దాల పాటు సుదీర్ఘమైన అనుభవాన్ని ప్రొఫెసర్ స్కాట్ కలిగి ఉన్నారు. ప్రభుత్వాధినేతలచే స్థాపించబడిన కామన్వెల్త్ ఆఫ్ లెర్నింగ్, ఓపెన్ లెర్నింగ్, టెక్నాలజీ ద్వారా నాణ్యమైన విద్యను విస్తృతం చేయడానికి కట్టుబడి ఉన్న ప్రభుత్వ సంస్థ 1987లో కామన్వెల్త్ అఫ్ లెర్నింగ్ ను ఏర్పాటు చేశారు.
