Electoral defeat came from arrogance, not my case, Kavitha fires back

Jobs, Housing failures sank BRS, Not My Name – Kavitha sets the record straight
Hyderabad: Telangana Jagruthi President K. Kavitha today met the Chairman of the Farmers Commission Kodandaram Reddy and Commission members at BRK Bhavan, where she submitted a detailed memorandum highlighting the acute distress faced by farmers from Gadwal, Nizamabad, and Khammam districts.
Addressing the media thereafter, Kavitha issued a strong statement following the court verdict that categorically quashed the Delhi Excise Policy case, calling it a complete vindication of her stand and a severe indictment of politically motivated persecution.

Kavitha thanked the Indian judiciary for exposing the falsity of the case, stating that the court clearly observed that even the core arguments of the prosecution were baseless. “From day one, I said this was a false case and that I would come out clean. Today, the verdict has proven that truth beyond doubt,” she said, welcoming the clean chit granted to all accused.
However, Kavitha said the verdict does not erase the immense personal and familial suffering inflicted on her over the last five and a half months. She stated that she was forcibly separated from her children and family, subjected to relentless humiliation, character assassination, and mental trauma. “No amount of money, no compensation, can restore my dignity or bring back the time stolen from my family. What happened to us was nothing short of injustice,” she asserted.

She expressed gratitude to her parents, in-laws, husband, and family members for their unwavering support, and thanked grassroots workers who stood by her at every court hearing, giving her the moral strength to withstand the ordeal.
Kavitha strongly condemned attempts being made to falsely link the defeat of the BRS in the Assembly elections to the Excise Policy case. She termed such narratives as dishonest, opportunistic, and politically motivated. “Trying to pin an electoral defeat on me is an insult to the intelligence of the people of Telangana,” she said.
She categorically stated that BRS lost the elections due to its own failures — non-delivery on jobs, housing, and welfare promises; distribution of tickets to undeserving and tainted individuals; and a growing disconnect rooted in arrogance. “Blaming a fabricated case for electoral defeat is an attempt to escape accountability,” she added.
Kavitha directly questioned KTR, urging him to accept political realities instead of manufacturing convenient excuses. She also questioned the silence of senior leadership, including KCR, at the time of her arrest. “Why was there no press conference? Why was I left to face political witch-hunt alone? Why was even basic social media support missing?” she asked.
She further slammed the failure of party platforms to counter the vile, misogynistic propaganda unleashed by the BJP, including defamatory attacks targeting her cultural identity and dignity. “The silence then directly emboldened the slander,” she said.
Rejecting any suggestion that legal cases could weaken her resolve, Kavitha reiterated her commitment to public service. She stated that immediately after the verdict, she returned to the ground to fight for farmers’ rights, underscoring that her priorities remain firmly with the people.
She also clarified that during the Assembly elections, her name never figured in public discourse. “The debates were on unemployment, double bedroom houses, governance failures, and arrogance — not on me,” she said, rejecting retrospective distortion of facts.
Kavitha announced that she would be launching a new political party in the coming months and described the timing of the verdict as a clear moral and political vindication. She stated that she has always accepted people’s verdicts with humility, including her defeat in Nizamabad, and has never looked for scapegoats.
Concluding her remarks, Kavitha said she would continue to fight for the people with or without the backing of political or social media armies. She appealed to the public to reject false narratives, expose political hypocrisy, and stand against the systematic targeting and humiliation of women in public life.
