Hyderabad : Public Relations Society of India (PRSI) Hyderabad chapter’s Women’s Wing felicitated nine women PR and Corporate Communication professionals for their valuable contribution to the field to mark its first anniversary at a glittering function in Hyderabad on Sunday.
The chief guest of the NMDC-sponosred programme, Prof. M. Vijulatha, Vice-Chancellor of the Telangana Mahila Viswavidyalayam, asked men to ensure the inclusion of women to achieve gender equilibrium. “Inclusion of women is a noble and crucial endavour to achieve a better society. Men and women should join hands to achieve this,” she said. Prof. Vijulatha observed that more women should take up managerial responsibilities and asked the corporate world to provide a safe and secure environment for women.
Prof. C. Padmaja Shah, a retired Journalism professor at Osmania University, said that women are great crisis managers. “Crisis management, a key responsibility of PR professionals, is a natural skill acquired by women,” she said adding that there shouldn’t be any discrimination based on gender.
C. Vanaja, senior journalist and Vice President of Hyderabad Press Club, observed that women professionals should unitedly face the issues that come in their way in their professions. She strongly advised professional bodies to have women’s wings to be the voice of women professionals.
Dr Anita, converter of the women’s wing, chaired the programme addressed by Dr. S. Ramu, Chairman of PRSI Hyderabad chapter. Dr Sribala, Danya Chowdary, C. Ramadevi, Anindita Mookerjee Sinha, Aparna Rajhans of the women’s wing, K. Yadagiri, Y. Babji, Ravinder Reddy, Rajeswari Iyer, Krishna Baji, Bhujanga Rao, Sreenivasa Rao, Sreekar Reddy, Rajesh, Mahesh of the Hyderabad chapter were also present.
