డా బి ఆర్ అంబేద్కర్ సార్వత్రిక విశ్వవిద్యాలయంలో ప్రొ జి రాంరెడ్డి స్మారకోపన్యాసం
హైదరాబాద్: దూరవిద్యా పితామహుడు ప్రొ. జి. రాంరెడ్డి 94వ జయంతిని పురస్కరించుకుని డా బి ఆర్ అంబేద్కర్ సార్వత్రిక విశ్వవిద్యాలయంలో అయన జయంతి వేడుకలు ఘనంగా నిర్వహించారు. ఈ కార్యక్రమానికి సెంకా డైరెక్టర్, డా. బషీర్హమాద్ శాద్రచ్ ముఖ్య అతిథిగా హాజరయ్యారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా ఆయన “సార్వత్రిక విశ్వవిద్యాలయాలు మరియు విద్య 4.0” అనే అంశంపై స్మారకోపన్యాసం చేశారు.
ఈ సందర్భంగా బషీర్హమాద్ మాట్లాడుతూ సార్వత్రిక విశ్వవిద్యాలయాలు ఆన్‌లైన్, డిజిటల్ విశ్వవిద్యాలయాలకు దూరం ఉన్నాయి, సాంకేతిక, బ్లెండెడ్, మెళుకువలు టీచింగ్ మరియు లెర్నింగ్ ప్రాక్టీస్‌లలో చాలా అభివృద్ధి చెందాయని ఆయన అభిప్రాయబడ్డారు. ఉన్నత విద్యా వ్యాప్తిలో ఓపెన్ యూనివర్సిటీల పాత్ర కీలకం అని, కోవిడ్- 19 తర్వాత రెగ్యులర్ విశ్వవిద్యాలయాలు కూడా ఓపెన్ యూనివర్సిటీల దారిలోనే పయనిస్తున్నాయని పేర్కొన్నారు. మొదటి దశ కోవిడ్‌కు ముందు రోజుల్లో విద్య బోధనలో సాంకేతికతను అందిపుచ్చుకోవడం. కోవిడ్-19 మహమ్మారి ప్రపంచాన్ని ఆధునికత వైపు మళ్ళించాయని పేర్కొన్నారు.
ఈ నైపుణ్యాలను అభివృద్ధి చేయడంలో, నైపుణ్యాభివృద్ధిని పెంపొందించుకోవడానికి విద్యా సంస్థలు మరింత ప్రయత్నించాలని సూచించారు. అన్ని సవాళ్ళను ఎదుర్కొనేలా నైపుణ్యం, సామర్థ్యాలను కలిగి ఉండేలా విద్యార్ధులను సిద్ధం చేసే విధంగా సార్వత్రిక విశ్వవిద్యాలయలు సిద్ధం కావాలని వివరించారు. కొత్త విద్యా విధానం 2020 సమర్థవంతమైన అభ్యాసానికి తగిన పాఠ్యాంశాలు, ఆకర్షణీయమైన బోధన, నిరంతర నిర్మాణాత్మక మూల్యాంకనం తోపాటు తగిన విధంగా విద్యార్థుల మద్దతుతో కూడిన సమగ్ర విధానం అవసరమన్నారు. సార్వత్రిక విశ్వవిద్యాలయలు నాణ్యమైన పాఠ్యాంశాల డిమాండ్లకు కట్టుబడి ఉంటూనే, ఒ.డి.యల్ ద్వారా నాణ్యమైన విద్యను మెరుగుపరచడం మరింత విస్తరించడం అవసరమన్నారు.
ఈ కార్యక్రమానికి అధ్యక్షత వహించిన విశ్వవిద్యాలయ ఉపకులపతి ఆచార్య కె. సీతారామ రావు మాట్లాడుతూ గ్రామీణ ప్రాంత పేద విద్యార్ధులను ఉన్నత విద్యా వంతులుగా తీర్చిదిద్దిడంలో దూర విద్య పితామహుడు ప్రొ.జి. రాంరెడ్డి దూర దృష్టి, ఉన్నత విద్యా వ్యాప్తికి ఆయన చేసిన కృషి ప్రశంసనీయమన్నారు .
కార్యక్రమానికి గౌరవ అతిథిగా హాజరైన విశ్వవిద్యాలయ డైరెక్టర్ (అకడమిక్) ప్రొ. ఘంటా చక్రపాణి కార్యక్రమం ఆవశ్యకత మరియు ముఖ్య అతిథిని పరిచయం చేశారు. విశిష్ట అతిధిగా పాల్గొన్న విశ్వవిద్యాలయ రిజిస్ట్రార్ ప్రొ.ఎ.వి.ఎన్.రెడ్డి పాల్గొని ప్రసంగించారు.
ప్రొ. జి. రామ్ రెడ్డి మెమోరియల్ ట్రస్ట్, కార్యదర్శి ప్రొ. జి. హరగోపాల్ మాట్లాడుతూ దూరవిద్యా వ్యాప్తికి ప్రొ. జి. రామ్ రెడ్డి చేసిన సేవలను భవిష్యత్ తరాలకు అందించేలా తమ ట్రస్ట్ ద్వార కృషి చేస్తున్నట్టు చెప్పారు.
కార్యక్రమంలో ప్రొ. జి. రాంరెడ్డి సతీమణి ప్రమీలా రాంరెడ్డి, ఆయన కుమార్తె జ్యోతి, కుటుంబ సభ్యులు మరియు డైరెక్టర్లు ప్రొ. సుధారాణి, ప్రొ. వడ్డాణం శ్రీనివాస్, డా. బనోత్ లాల్, ప్రొ. పుష్పా చక్రపాణి విశ్వవిద్యాలయ మాజీ అధ్యాపకులు ప్రొ. వి. వెంకయ్య అన్ని విభాగాల అధిపతులు, డీన్స్, ఉద్యోగ సంఘాల నాయకులు, ట్రస్ట్ సభ్యులు పాల్గొన్నారు.
OPEN UNIVERSITIES ARE PLAYED CRUCIAL ROLE IN THE SPREAD OF HIGHER EDUCATION: Dr Basheerhamad Shadrach
Dr B R Ambedkar Open University organised Prof G Ram Reddy Memorial Lecture
Hyderabad: Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU) and Prof. G. Ram Reddy memorial trust, Hyderabad jointly organized Prof. G. Ram Reddy Memorial Lecture at its campus as part of 94th Birthday Celebrations of founder Vice-Chancellor, BRAOU, Prof. G. Ram Reddy on Friday.
Dr.Basheerhamad Shadrach, Director, Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA), New Delhi delivered a lecture on “Open Universities and Education 4.0” Dr. Basheer said that open universities are far from online and digital universities, which he believes are highly developed in technological, blended, and innovative teaching and learning practices.
He said that the role of open universities is crucial in the spread of higher education, and after Covid-19, regular universities are also moving on the path of open universities. The first step was to embrace technology in education in the pre-Covid days. It is claimed that the Covid-19 pandemic has turned the world towards modernity. In developing these skills, it is suggested that educational institutions should make more efforts to enhance skill development.
He explained that open universities should prepare students to have the skills and abilities to face all the challenges. The New Education Policy 2020 states, “Effective learning requires a comprehensive approach with appropriate curriculum, engaging teaching, continuous formative assessment and appropriate student support. While open universities adhere to the demands of quality curriculum, there is a need to expand quality education through ODL.
Prof. K. Seetharama Rao, Vice-Chancellor, BRAOU, Presided over the function. Prof. Rao said that the father of distance education Prof. G. Ram Reddy’s vision is far-sighted and his sincerity is compatible with the spread of higher education. He also said to make higher education accessible to rural students.
Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani, Director (Academic) attended as guest of Honour for the program he introduced about the program and Chief Guest. Dr. A.V.R.N. Reddy, Registrar also spoke on the occasion.
Prof. G. Haragopal, Secretary, Prof G. Ram Reddy Memorial Trust said his trust is organizing commemorative lectures to pass on the services of Prof. G. Ram Reddy for the spread of distance education to the future generations.
The lecture was attended by Prof. G. Ram Reddy wife Smt. Prameela Ram Reddy and family members, Prof. Sudharani, Dr. Banoth Lal, Prof. Vaddanam Srinivas, Prof. Pushpa Chakrapani, Prof. Pallavi Kabde, Dr.Banoth Dharma, Dr. N. Rajani, former faculty of the University Prof. V. Venkaiah, Prof. C. Venkataiah, Prof. Madhusudan Reddy, Trust Members, Directors, Heads of Branches, Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff members also participated.
