BRS MLC Kavitha Slams Congress for Failed Promises, Mismanagement of State Projects

BRS Leader K Kavitha Criticizes Congress’ Neglect of Telangana’s Irrigation Needs

Bhuvanagiri : In a sharp critique of Congress, BRS MLC Kavitha condemned the party’s repeated failures to deliver on promises and its alleged role in mismanaging key state projects. Addressing the media at the party office after completing the Giri Pradakshina at Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple in Yadagirigutta on Wednesday, Kavitha emphasized the need to complete development works in Yadadri to guard its glory.

Expressing concern over the stagnation in Yadagirigutta temple’s development over the past year, MLC Kavitha called for a renewed focus on the site’s spiritual and cultural importance, urging that its progress be kept above political agendas. She commended former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for spearheading the temple’s remarkable transformation, marked by an investment of ₹1,200 crore.

MLC Kavitha highlighted Nalgonda’s transformation under KCR’s leadership, citing the successful Mission Bhagiratha project, which provided clean drinking water to every household, and the district’s “zero fluoride” status, announced in Parliament.

BRS leader Kavitha criticised Congress for the Musi River’s neglect. While praising KCR’s government for its comprehensive plan to restore the river, including the establishment of 31 Sewage Treatment Plants and plans to link the river with the Godavari, she accused Congress of turning the Musi rejuvenation project into a money-making scheme, misusing 7,500 crore public funds on unnecessary projects like the Mallanna Sagar connection, ignoring the viable Kondapochamma Sagar alternative for their personal gains. She also condemned the party for demolishing the homes of underprivileged families under the guise of Musi purification, causing unnecessary hardship to vulnerable communities.

“The cost of cleaning Musi is being inflated—first ₹50,000 crores, then ₹1 lakh crores, and now ₹1.5 lakh crores. I demand answers from Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy. Why is he silent when Telangana’s irrigation rights are being compromised? Why did the Nagarjuna Sagar project slip into the Centre’s hands?” She questioned.

Addressing the challenges faced by Telangana engineers concerning Nagarjuna Sagar, she pointed out that Andhra officials are obstructing them from measuring water flow in the right canal. “The Irrigation Minister is from this district—how can he remain silent while such issues persist?” she asked. MLC Kavitha stressed that under KCR’s administration, all canals were managed seamlessly, and equitable distribution for the benefit of the people. She asked if the current minister’s role is merely to oversee projects that waste public funds instead of ensuring effective water management.

BRS Senior leader Kavitha made it clear that the BRS would continue to fight for the people of Telangana with integrity and commitment, without resorting to hooliganism. She also warned Congress leaders that any further attacks on offices and houses would be met with strong resistance from the party’s dedicated 60 lakh-strong cadre, sending a clear message that the BRS would not tolerate any efforts to undermine its leadership or the progress it has brought to the state.

Slamming Congress’ track record, MLC Kavitha didn’t mince words. She criticized the party for its chaotic village meetings and ineffective welfare schemes, which have failed to reach the people who need them most. Public frustration with Congress is mounting, she noted, as citizens see through the empty promises made by the party.

BRS MLC Kavitha questioned the Congress party’s contribution to healthcare in Telangana, asking, “Did you bring even one medical college in 60 years?” She contrasted this with the transformative progress made under Chief Minister KCR’s leadership, highlighting the establishment of three new medical colleges.

She also addressed the issue of grain procurement, accusing Congress of failing to purchase even 10% of the required grains, which has left farmers in dire straits. She expressed concern over the slow pace of irrigation projects in Nalgonda, accusing Congress of mishandling these essential initiatives, including the handover of the Sagar project to the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) without proper consultation or planning.

She opined that Congress’s influence in Telangana is rapidly waning. She reaffirmed that the BRS government, under KCR’s leadership, had brought about lasting change in the state’s infrastructure, water supply, and agricultural sectors. With unwavering confidence, Kavitha vowed that the BRS would continue to prioritize the welfare of the people, while Congress’s attempts to distort history and mislead the public would fall short.

Earlier, MLC Kavitha highlighted the sanctity of the temple, referring to the Lord Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Pushkarini as the divine Viraja River from heaven. She encouraged people across Telangana to embrace the sacred Giri Pradakshina ritual, a deeply revered tradition that she described as both spiritually enriching and a source of immense joy
