హైదరాబాద్ : భారత రత్న, రాజ్యంగా నిర్మాత డా. బి. ఆర్. అంబేద్కర్ వర్ధంతి సందర్భంగా డా. బి. ఆర్. అంబేద్కర్ సార్వత్రిక విశ్వవిద్యాలయ ప్రాంగణంలో మహాపరినిర్వాణ్ దివస్ నిర్వహించారు. పరిపాలనా భవనం ముందు ఉన్న డా. బి. ఆర్. అంబేద్కర్ విగ్రహానికి పుష్ప మాలలు వేసి ఘనంగా నివాళి అర్పించారు. అనంతరం సీఎస్టీడీ ఆడిటోరియంలో నిర్వహించిన “బీఆర్ఏఓయూ రైజింగ్” కార్యక్రమంలో ఉద్యోగులను ఉద్దేశించి విశ్వవిద్యాలయ వైస్ ఛాన్సలర్ ప్రొ. ఘంటా చక్రపాణి ప్రసంగించారు.
ఈ సందర్భంగా ఆయన మాట్లాడుతూ భారత రాజ్యంగా నిర్మాత డా. బి. ఆర్. అంబేద్కర్ పేదల, బడుగు బలహీన వర్గాల అభ్యున్నతి కోసం పరితపించారని, దాన్ని దృష్టిలో పెట్టుకొని రాజ్యాంగాన్ని రూపొందించారని పేర్కొన్నారు. అంబేద్కర్ గారి ఆశయ సాధన కోసం తమ విశ్వవిద్యాలయం పనిచేస్తుందని, అందులో భాగంగానే సమతా స్కాలర్షిప్ లు, మహిళల విద్యాభ్యాసానికి ప్రత్యేక రాయితీలు, అత్యంత వెనకబడిన ఆదివాసీ కులాలకు ట్రాన్స్ జెండర్స్ కు, వికలాంగులకు ఉచిత విద్య అందిస్తున్నట్లు వెల్లడించారు. పలు సంస్థలతో చేసుకున్న అవగాహన ఒప్పందాలు, విద్యార్ధులకు కల్పిస్తున్న ఉద్యోగ అవకాశాలు, స్కిల్ కోర్సుల రూపకల్పన, గత సంవత్సర కాలంలో తీసుకున్న అనేక అభివృద్ధి, మౌళిక వసతుల కల్పన, ఉద్యోగుల సంక్షేమానికి చేపట్టిన కార్యక్రమాలు, విద్యార్ధులకు కల్పించిన వసతులు, రానున్న రోజుల్లో రాబోయే కొత్త కోర్సులు తదితరాలను ఉద్యోగులకు సమగ్రంగా వివరించారు. రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వ సహకారంతో రానున్న రోజుల్లో మరిన్ని అభివృద్ధి కార్యక్రమాలను చేపట్టనున్నట్లు తెలిపారు. ఉద్యోగులంతా విద్యార్ధుల సంక్షేమాన్ని, పేద వర్గాల అభివృద్ధిని దృష్టిలో పెట్టుకొని మరింత నిబద్ధతతో కష్టపడి పనిచేయాలని వైస్ ఛాన్సలర్ ప్రొ. ఘంటా చక్రపాణి పిలుపునిచారు.
కార్యక్రమానికి అద్యక్షత వహించిన విశ్వవిద్యాలయ రిజిస్ట్రార్ డా. ఎల్.వి.కే. రెడ్డి గత సంవత్సర కాలంగా యూనివర్సిటీలో చేపట్టిన పలు అభివృద్ధి కార్యక్రమాల వివరణాత్మక నివేదికను సమర్పించారు. క్యాంపస్ లో చేపట్టిన పలు అభివృద్ధి కార్యక్రమాల వివరాలను వెల్లడిస్తూ ప్రభుత్వం అందిస్తున్న సహకారాన్ని వివరించారు. కార్యక్రమ్మాన్ని ఎస్సీ/ఎస్టీ సెల్ ఇంచ్చార్జ్ డైరెక్టర్ డా. బానోత్ ధర్మ ఆధ్వర్యంలో నిర్వహించారు.

BRAOU Offered Floral Tributes To Dr B R Ambedkar
Hyderabad : Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU) paid rich floral tributes to Bharat Ratna Dr. B. R. Ambedkar on his 69th death anniversary at the campus on saturday.
Later, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani, addressed the employees at the “BRAOU Rising” program organized at the CSTD Auditorium. Prof. Chakrapani said that Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, the founder of the Indian state, worked for the upliftment of the poor and the downtrodden and the constitution was framed keeping that in mind. He revealed that his university is working towards the realization of Ambedkar’s vision, and as part of that, it is providing equal scholarships, special subsidies for women’s education, free education to the most backward tribal castes, transgenders, and the disabled.
The MoUs signed with various organizations, job opportunities provided to students, design of skill courses, many developments taken during the past year, creation of basic facilities, programs undertaken for the welfare of employees, facilities provided to students, new courses to be launched in the coming days, etc. were explained to the employees in a comprehensive manner. He said that more development programs will be undertaken in the coming days with the support of the state government. He called upon all employees to work harder with greater commitment, keeping in mind the welfare of students and the development of the poor.
Dr LVK Reddy, Registrar presided over the program. He presented a detailed report of university activities and various development projects undertaken by the University during the past year. He thank for the support provided by the government. The program was organized under the leadership of SC/ST Cell In-charge Director Dr. Banoth Dharma.
