Hyderabad : Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU), Department of History, in collaboration with Puducherry World History Congress (PWHC) organizing two days “Annual Second Session” on September 14-15, 2024 at the University campus. Prof. R. Limbadri, Chairman, State council of Higher Education, Government of Telangana attended as chief guest for the program.
Prof Limbadri said that history is the source of any development anywhere in the world and a good future. He inaugurated the two-day annual meetings of the Puducherry World History Congress on Saturday. He also said the historians and researchers studying in the history department should provide the historical background of the past to the future generations i.e., study the past comprehensively.
He opined that this kind of platform brings together the brightest minds to discuss past, present and future. He stated that History is mother of all Social Sciences and history has no boundaries. He also revealed that in Telangana education system there is a bucket system of courses available to the students who can choose according to their preferences and choices.

Prof. Alekhya Punjala, Former Registrar, Potti Sree Ramulu Telugu University, Chairperson, Telangana Sangeetha Nataka Academy attended as guest of honour. Prof. Alekhya expressed that as an artist she has a close connection with history and she is very keen to know about the history since her childhood. She said that it is very important for us to know our roots. She expressed her concern that we failed to record our history and recording history scientifically is very crucial for the authentic history to be presented for our future generations.
Dr. Sandeep Dasari, General Secretary, PWHC expressed that the history of Telugu states was neglected. We need to protect our language, our culture and our history. Today world is looking towards India and the west is imbibing the culture and values of India. He was glad to inform that PWHC has a huge number of members who are immersed in exploring the unexplored history.
Prof. Adapa Satyanarayana, Rtd. Prof. Department of History, Osmania University, Hyderabad said that till recently only the history of European countries was focused and the contribution of the non-european countries was neglected in making of world history. The world history should be more inclusive and the concepts like social justice, social democracy have emerged with the works of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar.
Prof. Laxman D Satya, University of Lock Haven, United States of America said that Guest of honour expressed that earlier, lot of emphasis was laid on the contribution of west and it was projected that the complete Science and Technology, Astronomy, Mathematics is the gift of the west to the world. But the time has come to rewrite the history with the contributions of the scholars from all over the world.
Prof E. Sudha Rani Rao, Local Secretary, PWHC and Registrar I/c presided over the program. She welcomed and greeted all the dignitaries and the participants of the conference who came from all over the country. Prof. Sudha threw light on the significant role of Dr.BRAOU in catering the higher education needs of the marginalized sections of the society. She stressed that Dr.BRAOU has collaborations with Industry to meet the market needs.

డా బి ఆర్ అంబేద్కర్ సార్వత్రిక విశ్వవిద్యాలయంలో “పుదుచ్చేరి వరల్డ్ హిస్టరీ కాంగ్రెస్” ప్రారంభం
హైదరాబాద్: ప్రపంచంలో ఎక్కడ అయినా అభివృద్ధి జరగాలన్నా, భవిష్యత్ బాగుండాలన్నా దానికి చరిత్రే మూలం అని, చరిత్రను సరిగ్గా అధ్యయనం చేస్తేనే అభివృద్ధి సాధ్యం అని తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్ర ఉన్నత విద్యామండలి చైర్మన్ ప్రొ. ఆర్. లింబాద్రి పేర్కొన్నారు. రెండు రోజుల పాటు జరగనున్న పుదుచ్చేరి వరల్డ్ హిస్టరీ కాంగ్రెస్ (పీ.డబ్ల్య్లూ.ఎచ్.సీ.) వార్షిక సమావేశాలను ఆయన శనివారం డా బి ఆర్ అంబేద్కర్ సార్వత్రిక విశ్వవిద్యాలయంలో ప్రారంభించారు.
ఈ కార్యక్రమానికి ఆయన ముఖ్య అతిథిగా హాజరై ప్రసంగించారు. ప్రొ. లింబాద్రి మాట్లాడుతూ చరిత్రకారులు, చరిత్ర విభాగంలో అభ్యసించే పరిశోధకులు గతంలో జరిగిన చారిత్రక నేపథ్యం ఉన్న అంశాలను భవిష్యత్ తరాలకు అందుంచాలి అంటే గతాన్ని సమగ్రంగా అధ్యయనం చేయాలని సూచించారు.
కార్యక్రమంలో గౌరవ అతిథిలుగా పాల్గొన్న తెలంగాణ సంగీత నాటక అకాడమీ ఛైర్‌పర్సన్, పొట్టి శ్రీరాములు తెలుగు విశ్వవిద్యాలయ మాజీ రిజిస్ట్రార్ ప్రొ.అలేఖ్య పుంజల మాట్లాడుతూ చారిత్రక అంశాలను ఎప్పటికప్పుడు నమోదు చేయాల్సిన భాద్యత చరిత్రకారులపై ఉందని, పరిశోధకులు ఈ అంశాన్ని దృష్టిలో పెట్టుకొని ముందు తరాలకు మార్గదర్శకులుగా ఉండాలని సూచించారు.
ఉస్మానియా విశ్వవిద్యాలయ చరిత్ర విభాగం ఆచార్యులు అడపా సత్యనారాయణ ప్రసంగిస్తూ ప్రపంచ చరిత్రను నమోదు చేయడంలో యూరప్ దేశాలు నిర్లక్ష్యం చేశాయని, ఇప్పటికీ అదే ధోరణిని ప్రదర్శిస్తున్నాయని ఇది మంచి పరిణామం కాదన్నారు. ప్రపంచ చరిత్రలో సామాజికన్యాయం, సమానత్వం, ప్రజాస్వామ్యం అనేది ఏయే దేశాలు, ఎవరెవరి పాలనలో అమలు అయ్యయో అవి తప్పక నమోదు చేసి భవిష్యత్ తరాలకు అందించాలని యువ పరిశోధకులకు సూచించారు.
ప్రొ. లక్ష్మణ్ డి. సత్య, లాక్ ఆఫ్ హెవెన్ (అమెరికా) విశ్వవిద్యాలయ ప్రొఫెసర్, మాట్లాడుతూ ప్రపంచ వ్యాప్తంగా సైన్సు, టెక్నాలజీ, గణిత శాస్త్రాల గురించే ఎక్కువ ప్రాధాన్యత ఇచ్చారని, కానీ చరిత్రకు అంత ప్రాధాన్యత ఇవ్వకపోవడం దురద్రుష్టకరమన్నారు. ఇప్పుడు యువ పరిశోధకులకు అవకాశం వచ్చిందని, ప్రపంచ చరిత్రను తిరగారాయాల్సిన అవసరం ఉందని పిలుపునిచ్చారు.
కార్యక్రమానికి ప్రపంచ చరిత్ర కాంగ్రెస్ ప్రాంతీయ కార్యదర్శి, విశ్వవిద్యాలయ ఇంచార్జ్ రిజిస్ట్రార్ ప్రొ. ఇ. సుధా రాణి అధ్యక్షత వహించారు. ఆమె మాట్లాడుతూ భారతీయ చారిత్రక ఉద్యమాలు, భారతదేశ చరిత్ర యొక్క ప్రాముఖ్యతను వివరించారు. పరిశోధన సమయంలో వారు కనుగొన్న సాక్ష్యాలను నమోదు చేయాలని ఆమె పరిశోధకులకు సూచించారు. చరిత్రను అన్వేషించి, భవిష్యత్ తరాలకు ఉపయోగపడేలా వాటిని రికార్డు చేయాలని సూచించారు.
కార్యక్రమంలో పుదుచ్చేరి వరల్డ్ హిస్టరీ కాంగ్రెస్ ప్రధాన కార్యదర్శి డా. సందీప్ కె దాసరి పాల్గొని ప్రసంగించారు. ఆయన తమ సంస్థ ఏర్పాటు ఆవశ్యకతను, నిర్వహిస్తున్న కార్యక్రమాలను వెల్లడించారు. అంబేద్కర్ సార్వత్రిక విశ్వవిద్యాలయం సామాజిక శాస్త్రాల డీన్ ప్రొ. వడ్డాణం శ్రీనివాస్ అతిథులను సభకు పరిచయం చేశారు. చరిత్ర విభాగ అధ్యక్షులు డా. జి. దయాకర్ వందన సమర్పణ చేశారు.

చరిత్ర విభాగ ప్రొఫెసర్, పురావస్తు శాఖ, మ్యుసియం పూర్వ సంచాలకులు ప్రొ. చెన్నారెడ్డి గౌరవార్ధం రూపొందించిన పుస్తకం “కళ్యాణ మిత్ర” ను ఈ సందర్భంగా ఆవిష్కరించారు. కార్యక్రమంలో దేశంలోని పలు విశ్వవిద్యాలయాల చరిత్ర విభాగ ఆచార్యులు, డీన్‌లు, డైరెక్టర్లు, పరిశోధక విద్యార్థులు పాల్గొన్నారు.
