Hyderabad : St. Francis College For Women, Begumpet hosted its much awaited annual youth fest “YUVAFLARE 2026” on January 10 bringing together students from various colleges across the city in a vibrant celebration of creativity, diversity and youthful talent with the theme “Express to Escape”. The inaugural ceremony was graced by renowned personalities including Indian film actor Arjun Sarja, actress Aishwarya Arjun, music composer and singer Anup Rubens, the crew of the upcoming film Seetha Payanam.

The ceremony began with the unfurling of the YUVAFLARE flag by Principal Prof. T. Uma Joseph, Vice-Principal Dr. Sr. Shirley, Deans and event coordinators accompanied by a stirring performance of the YUVAFLARE anthem and a well choreographed dance by the cheerleading squad.


Addressing the gathering, the Principal remarked, “Yuvaflare, our youth fest, aims at empowering students beyond academics, encouraging cultural expression, teamwork, and leadership qualities, essential for tomorrow’s changemakers. It’s a joy to watch them enjoy the day.”

Arjun Sarja expressed his gratitude for being a part of the enthusiastic celebration of youth and culture. He talked about the hard work and time put into the production of the movie while encouraging the students to watch the film. He thanked Principal Prof. T. Uma Joseph, the management, staff and the students for warmly welcoming him and his team.

Aishwarya Arjun shared the nostalgic experience of her college days and talked about her upcoming Telugu debut, encouraging to watch the film as the story is about the struggles of a woman. Anup Rubens enthralled the audience with live performances of his songs.

The festival officially commenced with a declaration by Principal Prof. T. Uma Joseph, followed by a series of cultural events and competitions. Students showcased their talents in a variety of contests and events, including Sham-e-Sangeet, Talaash, Shark Tank, BizMUN, Detective Showdown and Groove Gala.

A panel discussion on “Breaking Barriers and Stereotypes” that included spokesperson Ms. Archana Suresh- public policy expert, Dr. Taru Bhattacharaya- scientific officer, Ms. Triparna Banerjee- writer and director, Ms. Vyshali Sagar- Micron, India highlighted the need for women participation in economy and policy making to drive empowerment and national development.

The presence of Vanaveera Movie team, consisting of actor Avinash Thiruveedhula and actor-choreographer Aata Sandeep enriched the fest with lively interaction and dance performances. Adding to the festive spirit, vibrant stalls featuring food carts and creative craft displays offered a lively experience for attendees. Over 700 students from twenty colleges in the twin cities participated in the fest.

The day concluded with a valedictory ceremony held in the presence of actor Vinay Varma, where certificates and prizes were awarded to winners and participants, marking a successful and memorable end to YUVAFLARE 2026.
