Hyderabad: The Public Relations Society of India (PRSI) Hyderabad chapter felicitated a senior PR practitioner and Editor of ‘PR Voice’, Y. Babji for his contribution to the professional body as its national Secretary General at a function here on Wednesday.

Lauding Babji’s yeoman services to the PRSI as the Secretary General (2019-2023), the Hyderabad chapter Chairman Dr S. Ramu said that he had rendered selfless services for the benefit of PR and Corporate Communications professionals across the country. In tune with the rich democratic tradition he believed in, Babji preferred to step out of the position after his second term.

“Babji proved himself as a complete PR leader. He worked as the Hyderabad chapter chairman and the National Vice President (South) and the coveted Secretary General post. His contribution to the 65-year-old PRSI is laudable,” Dr Ramu said. He thanked the national president Dr Ajit Pathak to retain Babji as the PRSI’s Legal Advisor.

The Hyderabad Secretary K. Yadagiri said that Babji’s legal acumen came in handy for the organisation to streamline systems and set up standard operational procedures. One of the senior most members of the PRSI and current national committee member Krishna Baji praised the efforts of Babji in bringing all professionals under one umbrella. Another national committee member Mohan Rao said that Babji’s eye for details earned him a name in the profession. Former chairman of the Hyderabad chapter Dr J Chennaiah said that Babji was at the forefront in solving issues related to the profession.

Babji thanked Dr Ajit Pathak for the opportunity he had given him to serve the PRSI at national level and the Hyderabad chapter for the honour. He said that he would serve the chapter with more zeal and enthusiasm. “Being the biggest chapter in the country, the Hyderabad chapter has a role to play to uphold professionalism. This chapter, spearheaded by stalwarts like Professor Basheeruddin and Dr CV Narasimha Reddi, contributed a lot to the professional development.” Babji, who served 6 ministers as a Public Relations professional, said.

The Hyderabad chapter requested Babji to make use of his vast experience to further strengthen the chapter with his innovative and proactive ideas. In honour of Babji’s contribution, the Hyderabad chapter nominated him to the National Committee as its member with immediate effect.
