డా బి ఆర్ అంబేద్కర్ సార్వత్రిక విశ్వవిద్యాలయంలో ఘనంగా జాతీయ సైన్స్ దినోత్సవం
హైదరాబాద్ : ప్రపంచం పూర్తి స్థాయిలో కాలుష్యం కోరల్లో చిక్కుకోనుందని ఇది భవిష్యత్ తరాల మనుగడనే ప్రశ్నార్దకంగా మార్చనుందని ఇండియన్ ఇన్‌స్టిట్యూట్ ఆఫ్ కెమికల్ టెక్నాలజీ (ఐ.ఐ.సి.టి.) సీనియర్ శాస్త్రవేత్త డా.ఎస్.వెంకట మోహన్ అభిప్రాయపడ్డారు. డా బి ఆర్ అంబేద్కర్ సార్వత్రిక విశ్వవిద్యాలయంలో విక్షిత్ భారత్‌లో భాగంగా జాతీయ సైన్స్ దినోత్సవాన్ని నిర్వహించారు.
సైన్స్ విభాగం ఆధ్వర్యంలో నిర్వహించిన ఈ కార్యక్రమానికి డా. ఎస్. వెంకట మోహన్ అతిథిగా హజారై ‘సుస్థిర అభివృద్ధి సాంకేతిక జోక్యం’ అనే అంశంపై ఆయన కీలకోపన్యాసం చేశారు. అయిన మాట్లాడుతూ వాతావరణంలో కాలుష్య పరిమాణం రోజురోజుకూ పెరుగుతూ ఆందోళన కలిగిస్తోందని ఇది భవిష్యత్ తరాలకు తీవ్ర ఇబ్బంది కరంగా మారనుందని ఆవేదన వ్యక్త పర్చారు. గాలిలో కర్బోన్ డయాక్సైడ్ శాతం పరిమాణం ఉండాల్సిన దానికంటే ఎక్కువగా నమోదు అవుతోందని మరోవైపు విపరీతంగా పెరుగుతోన్న జనాభా కూడా దీనికి కారణంగా చెప్పుకొచ్చారు.
కాలుష్య కారకాలను తగ్గించక పోతే మనవ మనుగడకే పెద్ద ముప్పుగా వెల్లడించారు. వ్యర్ధాలను రీ సైకిల్ చేయడం వల్ల కొంతమేర అటు గాలి, ఇటు జల కాలుష్యాన్ని తగ్గించోచ్చని ఆ దిశగా ప్రభుత్వాలు ఆలోచన చేస్తున్నాయని అయినా ప్రజల భాగస్వామ్యం లేకుండా పూర్తి స్థాయిలో కాలుష్యాన్ని అరికట్టడం సాధ్యం కాదని వెల్లడించారు. కాలుష్యాన్ని తగ్గించడానికి తీసుకోవాల్సిన చర్యలు, ఐ.ఐ.సి.టి. చేస్తున్న పరిశోధనలు , పలు కేసు స్టడీ లను వివరించారు. అనేక పరిశ్రమలు తమ ఉత్పత్తి కేంద్రాల నుంచి వ్యర్ధాలను నేరుగా అటు భూమిలోకి ఇటు వాతావరణం లోకి వదలడం ద్వారా కాలుష్యం విపరీతంగా పెరిగి పోతుందని వివరించారు.
ఈ కార్యక్రమానికి అధ్యక్షత వహించిన విశ్వవిద్యాలయ ఉపకులపతి ఆచార్య కె. సీతారామ రావు మాట్లాడుతూ తమ విశ్వవిద్యాలయంలో సైన్స్ విభాగానికి దేశవ్యాప్తంగా మంచి గుర్తింపు ఉందని పేర్కొన్నారు. ఒకవైపు శాస్త్రీయ పరిజ్ఞానం అభివృద్ధి చెందుతున్నా మరో వైపు మూడ నమ్మకాలు ప్రజలను ప్రభావితం చేస్తున్నాయన్నారు. శాస్త్ర సాంకేతిక రంగంలో సాధించిన అభివృద్ధి సామాన్యులకు పూర్తి స్థాయిలో ఉపయోగపడ్డప్పుడే నిజమైన అభివృద్ధి అని ఆయన పేర్కొన్నారు.
ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో విశ్వవిద్యాలయ అకడమిక్ డైరెక్టర్, సైన్స్ విభాగ డీన్ ప్రొ. పుష్ప చక్రపాణి మాట్లడుతూ ప్రఖ్యాత భారతీయ పరిశోధకులు సర్ సి. వి. రామన్ ఆవిష్కరించిన రామన్ ఎఫెక్ట్ ను గుర్తిన్చుకునేలా ఆయన పేరున జాతీయ సైన్స్ దినోత్సవాన్ని జరపడం శుభసూచకంగా ఆమె వివరించారు. కార్యక్రమ నిర్వహణ, ఆవశ్యకతను పేర్కొంటూ ముఖ్య అతిథిని సభకు పరిచయం చేశారు. కార్యక్రమంలో పలు విభాగాల డైరెక్టర్లు, డీన్స్, విశ్వవిద్యాలయ సైన్స్ విద్యార్థులు అన్ని విభాగాల అధిపతులు, బోధన, భోదనేతర సిబ్బంది పాల్గొన్నారు.

NATIONAL SCIENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS AT Dr B R Ambedkar Open University
Hyderabad : Dr B R Ambedkar Open University, Faculty of Sciences organized National Science Day program on ‘Technological Interventions for Sustainability and Resilience’ as a part of Viksit Bharat at its campus at on February 28, 2024.
Dr S Venkata Mohan, Senior Principal Scientist, Indian institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), Hyderabad delivered a lecture on Technological Interventions for Sustainability and Resilience. Dr Mohan believes that the world will be completely engulfed in pollution and this will make the survival of future generations questionable. He said that the amount of pollution in the atmosphere is increasing day by day and it is worrying that it will become a serious problem for the future generations. On the other hand, the increase in population is also attributed to the fact that the percentage of carbon dioxide in the air is higher than it should be. He revealed that if the pollutants are not reduced, it will be a big threat to the survival of our children.
It has been revealed that the governments are thinking in that direction that by recycling the wastes, air and water pollution can be reduced to some extent, but it is not possible to stop the pollution completely without the participation of the people. Measures to be taken to reduce pollution are explained by IICT’s research and several case studies. It has been explained that by releasing wastes from their production centers directly into the ground and into the atmosphere, the pollution increases tremendously.
Prof K Seetharama Rao, Vice-Chancellor, BRAOU presided over the program. Prof Seetharama Rao said that the science faculty of university has a good reputation across the country. He said that despite the development of scientific knowledge, on the other hand, three beliefs are influencing people. He also said that the progress achieved in the field of science and technology is only true progress when it is fully useful to the common man.
Prof G Pushpa Chakrapani, Director (Academic) & Dean, Faculty of Sciences, explained about the significance of National Science Day. While speaking, she explained that it is an auspicious sign to celebrate the National Science Day in his name to recognize the Raman effect discovered by the famous Indian researcher Sir CV Raman. She also introduced about the program and Chief Guest.
Dr K Sridevi welcome the gathering. Mr N Battu proposed vote of thanks. All Directors, Deans, Heads of Branches, Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff Members, faculty members, representatives of service associations, science students attended the program.
