Hyderabad : Dr B R Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU), Faculty of Social Sciences, Department of Public Administration in collaboration with Telangana State Council for Higher Education (TSCHE) organized a Two Day International Conference on “75 Years of Public Administration Discipline In India : Trajectories and Contemporary Status” on May 17-18, 2024 at the University Campus.
Prof R Linmbadri, Chairman, TSCHE, Hyderabad was the chief guest for the Inaugural session of the two day International Conference. Prof. Linmbadri said that 3 lakh 54 thousand people appeared for the EAPCET exam conducted in Telangana this year. About 2.5 lakhs to 3 lakhs students enroll in degree every year in Telangana, out of which only 14% students enroll in social sciences. 85% of students claim to be in Computer Science. It is suggested that the books should be created keeping in mind not which course they joined or what they studied, but how the teachers designed the course for the students and what kind of employment opportunities the student is likely to get after the education is completed. He wished that the student who studied Public Administration should work for the public interest, become a person who seeks the welfare of the society.
Prof V S Prasad, Formerly, Vice-Chancellor, Dr BRAOU and former Director NAAC was the keynote addresses for the program. He said that there have been a lot of changes in the current education system, the whole world is running behind technology courses, and at such a time, the department of social sciences should attract students towards them, that is there should be changes in the way of teaching and the way of making lessons. He said that traditional methods need to be encouraged. Young teachers and researchers are suggested to think and design books on how the public administration department should be in the era of artificial intelligence and Chat GPT.

Prof K Seetharama Rao, Vice-Chancellor, BRAOU presided over the program. Prof Rao mentioned the Speaking, he described public administration as a course that aims at public interest. On the occasion of the completion of 75 years of public administration department in the country, it was revealed that this international conference is being held with the aim of discussing how the department has worked for public benefit and how it should be transformed.
Prof AVRN Reddy, Registrar attended as guests of honour for the program and introduced about the guest to the program. Prof G Pushpa Chakrapani, Director (Academic); Prof Vaddanam Srinivas, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences also spoke on the occasion.
Prof Pallavi Kabde, Conference Director explained that this international conference is being organized in the context of the completion of 75 years of recognition of the department of public administration in the country. It has been stated that many social science teachers will participate in this International Conference and guide the research students and proposed formal vote of thanks. All Directors, Deans, Heads of the Branches, Research Scholars & Students participated in the program.
In the Plenary session on “Perspectives on the Discipline of Public Administration”. Prof Ajmer Singh Malik, Vice Chancellor, CDLU, Sirsa, Haryana was the chairperson of the panel. Prof. Y. Parthasaradhi Department of Public Administration, Osmania University Hyderabad; Prof A Venkatraman, Department of Public Administration Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat, (Gujarat); Prof Nirmala Dorasamy, Department of Public Management and Economics Faculty of Management Sciences Durban University of Technology, Durban (South Africa); Prof Marzina Begum, Department of Public Administration, University of Rajshahi (Bangladesh) and Prof Sanjeev Kumar Mahajan, Dept of Public Administration, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, (Himachal Pradesh) were the panel speakers.

హైదరాబాద్ : డా. బి. ఆర్. అంబేద్కర్ సార్వత్రిక విశ్వవిద్యాలయం, సామాజిక శాస్త్ర విభాగం మరియు తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్ర ఉన్నత విద్యా మండలి ఆధ్వర్యంలో “భారతదేశంలో 75 సంవత్సరాల పబ్లిక్ అడ్మినిస్ట్రేషన్ : సమకాలీన స్థితిగతులు” అనే అంశంపై రెండు రోజుల అంతర్జాతీయ సదస్సు శుక్రవారం ప్రారంభమైంది. ఈ కార్యక్రమానికి తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్ర ఉన్నత విద్యా మండలి ఛైర్మన్ ఆచార్య. ఆర్. లింబాద్రి ముఖ్య అతిథిగా హాజరై ప్రారంభించారు.
అయన మాట్లాడుతూ ఈ సంవత్సరం తెలంగాణలో నిర్వహించిన ఈఏపీసెట్ – 2024 పరీక్ష కు 3 లక్షల 54 వేల మంది హాజరయ్యారని పేర్కొన్నారు. తెలంగాణలో ప్రతి సంవత్సరం దాదాపు 2.5 లక్షల నుండి 3. లక్షల మంది విద్యార్థులు డిగ్రీలో చేరుతున్నారని ఇందులో 14% విధ్యార్థలు మాత్రమే సామాజిక శాస్త్రాలలో నమోదు చేసుకుంటున్నారన్నారు. 85% విధ్యార్థలు కంప్యూటర్ సైన్సులో చేరుతున్నారని పేర్కొన్నారు. ఏ కోర్సులో చేరారు, ఏం చదివారు అనేది కాదని, విద్యార్ధులు అభ్యసించే కోర్సును అధ్యాపకులు ఎలా రూపొందించారు, విద్యాభ్యాసం పూర్తి అయ్యాక ఆ విద్యార్ధికి ఎలాంటి ఉపాధి అవకాశాలు వచ్చే అవకాశం ఉంది అనే దాన్ని ప్రధానంగా అధ్యాపకులు దృష్టిలో పెట్టుకొని పుస్తకాలను రూపొందించాలని సూచించారు. పబ్లిక్ అడ్మినిస్ట్రేషన్ అభ్యసించిన విద్యార్ధి ప్రజా ప్రయోజనాల కోసం పనిచేసేలా, సమాజ హితం కోరే వ్యక్తిలా, సమాజం పట్ల భాద్యతగా వ్యవహరించే వ్యక్తిలా రూపుదిద్దుకోవాలని ఆయన ఆకాంక్షించారు.
అంబేద్కర్ సార్వత్రిక విశ్వవిద్యాలయ మాజీ ఉపకులపతి, న్యాక్ మాజీ డైరెక్టర్ ప్రొ.వి.ఎస్.ప్రసాద్ ఈ కార్యక్రమానికి హాజరై కీలకోపన్యాసం చేశారు. ఆయన మాట్లడుతూ ప్రస్తుత విద్యా విధానంలో చాలా మార్పులు వచ్చాయని, ప్రపంచం అంతా టెక్నాలజీ కోర్సుల వెనక పరుగెడుతోందని, ఇలాంటి సమయంలో సామాజిక శాస్త్రాల విభాగం విధ్యార్ధులను తమవైపు ఆకట్టుకోవాలి అంటే బోధన విధానంలో, లెసన్స్ రూపొందించే విధానంలో మార్పులు రావాలని ఆకాంక్షించారు. సాంప్రదాయ పద్ధతులకు తిలోదకాలు ఇవ్వాల్సిన అవసరం ఉందన్నారు. ఆర్టిఫిషియల్ ఇంటలిజెన్స్, చాట్ జీపీటీ యుగంలో పబ్లిక్ అడ్మినిస్ట్రేషన్ విభాగం ఎలా ఉంటె బాగుంటుందో యువ అధ్యాపకులు, పరిశోధకులు ఆలోచించి పుస్తకాల రూపకల్పన చేయాలని సూచించారు.
కార్యక్రమానికి విశ్వవిద్యాలయ ఉపకులపతి ఆచార్య కె. సీతారామరావు అధ్యక్షత వహించారు. ఆయన మాట్లాడుతూ ప్రజా పాలనా శాస్త్రం ప్రజా ప్రయోజనం కాంక్షించే కోర్సు గా ఆయన అభివర్ణించారు. పబ్లిక్ అడ్మినిస్ట్రేషన్ విభాగం దేశంలో ఆవిర్భవించి 75 వసంతాలు పూర్తి అయిన సందర్భంగా ఆ విభాగం ప్రజా ప్రయోజనం కోసం ఏ విధంగా పనిచేసింది, ఇంకా ఎలా రూపాంతరం చెందాలి అనే అంశంపై చర్చ జరగాలనే లక్ష్యంతో ఈ అంతర్జాతీయ సదస్సును నిర్వహిస్తున్నట్లు వెల్లడించారు. కార్యక్రమంలో గౌరవ అతిథులుగా విశ్వవిద్యాలయ రిజిస్ట్రార్ ప్రొ. ఎ.వి.ఆర్.ఎన్. రెడ్డి; అకాడమిక్ డైరెక్టర్ ప్రొ. జి. పుష్పా చక్రపాణి; సామాజిక శాస్త్రం విభాగ డీన్ ప్రొ. వడ్డాణం శ్రీనివాస్ పాల్గొని ప్రసంగించారు.
