Hyderabad: The Twenty sixth Convocation of Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU) will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at 10.00 A.M in the Bhavanam Venkatram Auditorium, Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Open University Campus, Prof. G. Ram Reddy Marg, Road No 46, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad.
Shri. Jishnu Dev Varma, Hon’ble Governor of Telangana & Chancellor of the University will grace the occasion and will award Ph.D Degrees, Gold Medals and Book Prizes.
Prof. Uma Kanjilal, Vice-Chancellor, Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi will be the Chief Guest and deliver the Convocation Address.
Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani, Vice-Chancellor, Dr.BRAOU said that in this Convocation University is conferring the Degree of Doctor of Letters (Honoris Causa) on Shri Goreti Venkanna, an extraordinary lyricist and poet for his luminous contribution to Telugu Literature and Shri Prem Rawat a Peace Educator for his notable contribution worldwide in improving health increasing school enrolment and dropping crime rates.
At the convocation 60,288 candidates qualified during the year 2023, 2024 will be receiving Degrees/Diplomas/Certificates.
Total 60,288 candidates for the Academic Year 2023-24 were found eligible to receive Degrees/Diplomas Certificates.

BRAOU provides opportunities for reformation through education in the prisons of Telangana & Andhra Pradesh. MoU with Retailers Association’s Skill Council of India (RASCI) “Stipend Based Apprenticeship Program (SAP)” under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India. As part of this campus placement drives were organized and campus interviews were conducted. Leading Retailers in Pharma field like Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Mahindra & Mahindra Automotive Manufacturer Pvt. Ltd, Westside, Pai International, Apollo Pharmacy participated in the drive.
MoU with WE HUB. “We Enable” – A Collaborative Program to Empower women Learners by inculcating entrepreneurial mind-set and enhancing employability Skills.
The MoU with Telangana Police Department to enable non-graduate police personnel to complete their graduation.
MoU with Swamy Ramananda Tirtha Institute (SRTRI) to empower its learners in acquiring and enhancing vocational skills. Vocational courses offered through the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) will be made available to BRAOU students, enabling them to gain employable skills and industry-oriented training.
MoU with three Educational Institutions i.e., Apollo Institute of Health Care Management (AIHCM), KIMS Education Society (KIMS) and Darussalam Educational Trust, (DET) to offer M.B.A Hospital & Healthcare Management (HHCM) Courses.
MoU with Renova Hospitals Hyderabad Created a dedicated health centre for Students and employees (Including family members of the employees) in collaboration with Renova Hospitals, Hyderabad to provide emergency care comprehensive health care facilities.
RAOU New Initiatives:
This academic year the University introduced semester system in English medium for Post Graduate programmes. The first open university to introduce semester system (UG/PG) programmes in distance mode in the country.
Samatha Support Scheme for (Adivasi Youth, Transgenders, Divyanganjan)
free degree courses will be provided to all transgenders in Telangana as part of the Equal Opportunity Plan of University.
To provide free higher education to the tribals belonging to the primitive tribes of Gond, Koya, Chenchu and other communities in the state from this academic year.

Development Activities & New Infrastructure:
Telangana government Sanctioned 100 crores to establish B. R. Ambedkar International Institute for Dialogue on Governance and Equity (BRIIDGE), an International Research Centre on BRAOU campus under SC sub plan.
Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University, Hyderabad was featured among “India’s Best 10 Business Schools for MBA in Healthcare Management– 2025”.
The UGC sanctioned Rs. 21,63,66,695 crores (Rupees Twenty one crore sixty three lakhs sixty six thousand six hundred ninety five only) under PM-USHA funds for university development.

B) Central Instrumentation Center will be built at a cost of Rs. 3 crores.

ఈ స్నాతకోత్సవంలో ప్రఖ్యాత కవి, గేయ రచయిత శ్రీ గోరటి వెంకన్న గారికి తెలుగు సాహిత్యానికి వ్యాప్తికి వారు చేసిన సేవలకు గాను స్నాతకోత్సవ కార్యక్రమంలో గౌరవ డాక్టరేట్ అందించనున్నారు. అదేవిధంగా ప్రఖ్యాత శాంతి విద్యా ప్రచారకులు, ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా ఆరోగ్యకర విధానంలో పాఠశాలల్లో విద్యార్థుల చేరికలను పెంపొందించి, నేరాల శాతం తగ్గించడానికి కృషి చేస్తున్న ప్రముఖ రచయిత, ప్రఖ్యాత విద్యా వేత్త శ్రీ ప్రేమ్ రావత్ గారికి ఆయా రంగాల్లో ఆయన చేసిన సేవలకు గాను డాక్టర్ ఆఫ్ లెటర్స్ (హానరిస్ కాసా – గౌరవ డాక్టరేట్)తో సత్కరించబోతునున్నట్లు వెల్లడించారు.
26వ స్నాతకోత్సవం ముఖ్య అంశాలు:
స్నాతకోత్సవంలో డిగ్రీలు /డిప్లొమా సర్టిఫికెట్లు పొందునున్న విద్యార్ధులు 60,288. ఇందులో భాగంగా అండర్ గ్రాడ్యుయేట్ లో 35,346, పోస్ట్ గ్రాడ్యుయేట్ లో 24,942 మంది సర్టిఫికెట్స్ అందుకోనున్నారు.
అండర్ గ్రాడ్యుయేట్, పోస్ట్ గ్రాడ్యుయేట్ మహిళా విద్యార్ధులు 32,373 అభ్యర్థులు, 7 ట్రాన్స్ జెండర్ అభ్యర్థులతో సహా పురుషులు 27,908 మంది డిగ్రీలు అందుకోనున్నారు.
మొత్తం 86 బంగారు పతకాలు (అండర్ గ్రాడ్యుయేట్ విభాగంలో 35 గోల్డ్ మెడల్స్ & పోస్ట్ గ్రాడ్యుయేట్ 51 బంగారు పతకాలు అందుకోబోతున్నారు.

బ్లాక్ చైన్ టెక్నాలజీ : యూనివర్సిటీ పూర్తిగా డిజిటలైజేషన్ సాధించి ఈ స్నాతకోత్సవం నుంచి బ్లాక్ చైన్టెక్నాలజీని ఉపయోగిస్తోంది. దీని వల్ల అన్ని సర్టిఫికెట్లు అత్యంత భద్రమైన డిజిటల్ బ్యాంకులో నిల్వ ఉంటాయి. విద్యార్థులు వారి అవసరం మేరకు వాటిని డౌన్ లోడ్ చేసుకోవచ్చు. బ్లాక్ చైన్టెక్నాలజీ వినియోగించడం ద్వారా పారదర్శకంగా, ప్రామాణికంగా ఉంటుంది. ఫేక్ సర్టిఫికెట్స్ తయారు చేయడానికి, సమాచారాన్ని మార్చడానికి ఆస్కారం ఉండదు.
అభివృద్ధి పథంలో యూనివర్సిటీ : ఎంఓయూలతో భాగస్వామ్యం
- రిటైలర్స్ అసోసియేషన్, స్కిల్ కౌన్సిల్ ఆఫ్ ఇండియా (RASCI):
కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వ నైపుణ్యాభివృద్ధి మరియు వ్యవస్థాపకత మంత్రిత్వ శాఖ పరిధిలోని రిటైలర్స్ అసోసియేషన్, స్కిల్ కౌన్సిల్ ఆఫ్ ఇండియా (RASCI) తో ‘ఉపకారవేతనంతో కూడిన అప్రెంటిస్షిప్ ప్రోగ్రామ్ (SAP) కోసం ఎంఓయూ కుదుర్చుకున్నాము. తద్వారా క్యాంపస్ ప్లేస్మెంట్లలో భాగంగా క్యాంపస్ ఇంటర్వ్యూలు నిర్విహించాము. ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో డాక్టర్ రెడ్డీస్ లేబొరేటరీస్, మహీంద్రా అండ్ మహీంద్రా ఆటోమోటివ్ మాన్యుఫాక్చరింగ్ ప్రైవేట్ లిమిటెడ్, వెస్ట్ సైడ్, ‘పై’ ఇంటర్నేషనల్, అపోలో ఫార్మసీ వంటి ప్రముఖ సంస్థలు ఇందులో భాగస్వాములయ్యాయి. మిగిలిన ప్రఖ్యాత సంస్థల్లో మా దగ్గర అడ్మిషన్ పొందిన విద్యార్ధులకు అవకాశాలను కల్పించనున్నాము.
- వీ హబ్ తో ఎంఓయూ:
మహిళా విద్యార్థుల్లో ఉద్యోగ నైపుణ్యాలు, వ్యవస్థాపకత నైపుణ్యాల ద్వారా సాధికారత సాధించేందుకు ‘We Enable’ పేరుతో వీ హబ్ తో ఎంఓయూ కుదుర్చుకున్నాము. మహిళా విద్యార్థులను చదువుకుంటూనే పారిశ్రామిక వేత్తలుగా తీర్చిదిద్దాలనే లక్ష్యంతో ముందుకు వెల్లుతున్నాము.
- తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్ర పోలీస్ విభాగంతో ఎంఓయూ:
డిగ్రీ పూర్తిచేయని పోలీస్ ఉద్యోగులు, ఉద్యోగంలో ఉండగానే తమ డిగ్రీ కోర్సులు పూర్తి చేసేందుకు వీలు కల్పిస్తూ తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్ర పోలీస్ విభాగం వారితో ఎంఓయూ కుదుర్చుకున్నాము. రానున్న 5 సంవత్సరాల్లో పోలీస్ శాఖలో పని చేసే ప్రతీ ఉద్యోగి డిగ్రీ పూర్తి చేసుకునేల ప్రత్యేకంగా కోర్సును డిజైన్ చేశాము.
- ‘శ్రీ రామానంద తీర్థ రూరల్ ఇన్స్టిట్యూట్’ (SRTRI) తో ఎంఓయూ:
యూనివర్సిటీ విద్యార్థులు వృత్తి నైపుణ్యాలను మరింత మెరుగుపరచుకోవడానికి అనుగుణంగా ‘శ్రీ రామానంద తీర్థ రూరల్ ఇన్స్టిట్యూట్’ (SRTRI) తో ఎంఓయూ కుదుర్చుకున్నాం. దీనివల్ల దీన్ దయాళ్ ఉపాధ్యాయ్ గ్రామీణ కౌషల్ యోజన (DDU-GKY) ద్వారా అందిస్తున్న నైపుణ్య శిక్షణ కోర్సులు BRAOU విద్యార్థులకు అందుబాటులో ఉండేలా ఒప్పందం కుదుర్చుకున్నాము. వారిలో ఉద్యోగ నైపుణ్యాలు, పరిశ్రమలకు అవసరమైన నైపుణ్య శిక్షణ మెళకువలను అందించనున్నట్లు వెల్లడించారు.
- ‘ప్రఖ్యాత హాస్పిటల్స్ తో ఎంఓయూ:
ఎంబీఏ హాస్పిటల్ అండ్ హెల్త్ కేర్మేనేజ్మెంట్ (HHCM) కోర్సుల్లో వర్సిటీ విద్యార్థులకు శిక్షణ కోసం అపోలో ఇన్స్టిట్యూట్ ఆఫ్ హెల్త్కేర్ మేనేజ్మెంట్ (AIHCM), కిమ్స్ ఎడ్యుకేషన్ సొసైటీ (KIMS), దారుస్సలాం ఎడ్యుకేషన్ ట్రస్ట్ (DET) సంస్థలతో ఎంఓయూ కుదుర్చుకున్నాము.
- క్యాంపస్ లో అత్యవసర సేవలకు రేనోవా హాస్పిటల్స్ తో ఎంఓయూ:
యూనివర్సిటీ ఉద్యోగులు, వారి కుటుంబ సభ్యులకు సమగ్ర, అత్యవసర వైద్య సేవలు అందించడానికి ప్రత్యేక హెల్త్ సెంటర్ ఏర్పాటు కోసం రెనోవా హాస్పిటల్స్, హైదరాబాద్ వారితో ఎంఓయూ కుదుర్చుకున్నాము. ఆరోగ్య సేవలు ఇప్పటికే అందుబాటులోకి తెచ్చాం.
యూనివర్సిటీ కొత్త విధానాలు
ఈ విద్యా సంవత్సరం నుంచి పోస్ట్ గ్రాడ్యూయేట్ ఇంగ్లిష్ మీడియం, సెమిస్టర్ విధానాన్ని ప్రవేశపెట్టాము. దేశంలోనే మొట్టమొదటిసారిగా BRAOU యూజీ, పీజీ కోర్సుల్లో దూరవిద్యా విధానంలో సెమిస్టర్ విధానాన్ని ప్రవేశపెట్టింది.
యూనివర్సిటీ అందరికీ సమాన అవకాశాలు కల్పించే విధానంలో భాగంగా తెలంగాణలోని ట్రాన్స్ జెండర్ల కు ఉచిత డిగ్రీ కోర్సులు అందిస్తోంది.
ప్రస్తుత విద్యా సంవత్సరం (2025-26) నుంచి దేశంలో ఎక్కడా లేని విధంగా రాష్ట్రంలోని ఆదివాసీలైన గోండు, కోయ, చెంచు, ఇతర అభివృద్ధికి నోచుకోని గిరిజన తెగలకు ఉచిత విద్యను అందిస్తున్నాము.
వికలాంగులకు ఉచిత విద్య
దేశంలోని అనేక ప్రాంతాల్లో విధులు నిర్వహించే భారత సైనికుల కోసం ఆర్మీ సెంటర్లను ఏర్పాటు చేయటమే కాకుండా ‘అగ్నివీర్’ కు అవసరమైన కోర్సులను ప్రత్యేకంగా రూపకల్పన చేసి అందుబాటులోకి తెచ్చే ప్రయత్నాలు మొదలు పెట్టాం.
అభివృద్ధి కార్యక్రమాలు – నూతన మౌలిక వసతుల కల్పన
ఎస్సీ సబ్ ప్లాన్ కింద BRAOU క్యాంపస్ లో డాక్టర్ బి. ఆర్. అంబేద్కర్ ఇంటర్నేషనల్ ఇన్స్టిట్యూట్ ఫర్ డైలాగ్ ఆన్ గవర్నెన్స్ అండ్ ఈక్విటీ (BRIIDGE) పేరుతో అంతర్జాతీయ పరిశోధన కేంద్రాన్ని ఏర్పాటు చేయడానికి తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వం రూ.100 కోట్లు మంజూరు చేసింది.
2025లో ఎంబీఏ హెల్త్ కేర్ మేనేజ్మెంట్ లో దేశంలోని అత్యుత్తమ 10 బిజినెస్ స్కూల్స్లో డాక్టర్ బీఆర్ అంబేద్కర్ ఓపెన్ యూనివర్సిటీ ఒకటిగా నిలవడం మాకు గర్వకారణం.
పీఎం – ఉష పథకం కింద యూనివర్సిటీ అభివృద్ధి కోసం యూజీసీ రూ.21,63,66,695 (21 కోట్ల 63 లక్షల 66 వేల 6 వందల 95 రూపాయలు) కేటాయించింది. రూ.10 కోట్ల నిధులతో డిజిటల్ రిసోర్స్ సెంటర్ ఏర్పాటు చేయనున్నాము. అదేవిధంగా రూ.3 కోట్ల వ్యయంతో సెంట్రల్ ఇన్స్ట్రూమెంటేషన్సెంటర్ నిర్మించనున్నాము.
విశ్వవిద్యాలయ అభివృద్ధికి ఈ సంవత్సరం తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వం రూ.25 కోట్ల గ్రాంటు మంజూరు చేసింది.
రూ.10 కోట్ల వ్యయంతో ఇంటిగ్రేటెడ్ లెర్నర్ సెంటర్.
రూ.5 కోట్ల వ్యయంతో విశ్వవిద్యాలయానికి ప్రహారీ గోడ, అంతర్గత రోడ్ల ఏర్పాటుకు వెచ్చించనున్నాం.
రూ.10 కోట్ల వ్యయంతో త్వరలో నైపుణ్యాభివృద్ధి కేంద్రాన్ని ఏర్పాటు చేయనున్నాము.
